I prefer the young versions of Lin Zhao Xi and Pei Zhi more than the adult ones. I'm still on episode 10 right…
Ahhh I wouldn't want to see ZXC only pick up romances. He does romance well but young actors should be challenging themselves instead of staying in their comfort zone. Anyway, adult PZ only appears for a few mins in the first ten eps or so - if you keep watching, you might discover he suits the suspense/thriller genre too ahah.
I want to know what the future holds but at the same time I donโt want this drama to end.
I feel you, suddenly the drama feels too short ๐ญ I don't want to part with the Strawberry World characters and I didn't get to see enough of their Cheese World doubles.
I really what they will covered as we only hve 8 ep left..and this week will see the ending. Im so nervous watching…
The last few eps have left me feeling like I need them to just release everything at once!! I'm so curious as to where they'll go from here and how the writer will wrap things up.
Ugh, ZZF and LJY and ZXC and the actors playing his parents are too good at what they do - they literally keep making me have to fight back tears every night. Lao Lin's whole storyline in the Strawberry World just hits so hard for me as someone with aged/ill parents. And PZ's painful honesty with his mom at last and the way he stuck to his guns ;___; it was honestly so hard to watch without crying. I didn't think they'd work in the actual issues he had in the novel in this way but they did.
I'm glad we're getting to see a bit more of Bao Xiaomeng too. I like her acting the most out of the younger supporting cast and she's really pretty ahah.
Ripping off the plot device from Someday Or One Day and also the Sunken Place scene from Get Out?! Chinese dramas…
I'm not sure what plot device you're referring to but multiverse and time travel are topics that have been explored a lot in fiction and films (and even in college courses lol). I doubt there's anything totally original about any works in the genre at this point in time.
In fact, if anything, some of the questions posed by the script writer remind me of the Matrix ๐
The second trip to cheese world introduced a number of distractions that seem to leave us hanging by not being…
Bao Xiaomeng is a really angsty character in the book - it feels like they wanted to touch on her struggles but they ran out of have time so they resolved her issues after that short outburst at LCX. And yeah I would liked to have seen Lao Lin's classes, more of the high schoolers in cheese world with their classmates, some difficulties in modelling (rather than just not being able to access the traffic data). PZ and LCX were adorable together but it doesn't feel like it was necessary for them to drop out to work on the modelling in a room by themselves.
Only cheese LZX can remember what she saw when she was in that "limbo"? Because cheese HJ and strawbarry PZ don't…
I think Cheese LZX kind of addressed this when she said cheese HJ just remembers it all as a dream. I'm very curious as to why Strawberry PZ seems totally unaware though - did Cheese PZ travel via another method O__O
The latest episodes really made me cry so much for cheese Lin Chao Xi and then strawberry Pei Zhi. Whatever you say about this scriptwriter, imo he definitely has a knack for writing powerfully emotional scenes and Xincheng and Zifeng just delivered the heck out of those moments. Kudos to the actor playing PZ's dad too - I thought he was just there for comedic relief (he's hilarious with PZ's mom) but he really shone tonight in those emotional moments with PZ.
Lottsa ppl includin me are on the Cheese World Pei Zhi x Strawberry World Lin Zhao Xi...can we just have the Strawberry…
I kind of suspect we will get Cheese PZ travelling to the Strawberry World soon O___O I mean, he's probably the one who gave Strawberry PZ the recorder so it means he knows how to jump to the other world too.
We entered the second half of the drama and I enjoy the conflict between the main characters. Currently, Pei Zhi…
I'm enjoying the conflict between PZ and LCX too - it's very unexpected to see them turn on each other like this - but I am a bit nervous about whether the drama will be able to bring them together again in a logical way :P.
And I feel like the changes may not be due to censorship? The scriptwriter seems to want to focus on different themes - so far the drama seems like it's going to wind up as a parable about nature vs nurture (the different choices PZ and LCX's parents made in both worlds seem to have a drastic impact on them) and facing up to your issues vs running away from them. Strawberry PZ is probably going to get his comeuppance from the previews).
I I recall right, the original novel was more of a criticism of the education system and diligence/hard work vs genius - we haven't really seen these themes explored in the drama much although the contrast between Zhang Shuping and Lao Lin (and their squabbles lol) does hint at this a bit.
FL acting is bad .. she is expressionless ..The cheerleading part when thy were performing her other 2 friends…
Hmm I have the opposite impression of Zifeng. I've never seen her in anything before THOG and she's pretty natural and relatable so far. She's definitely one of the better FLs I've seen in a c-drama ๐ .
Only at ep 6 and feeling a bit bored. Are there going to be more lots of teen romance in it, from episode 6 onwards?…
I don't think this is the right drama if you're looking for a drama centred on kids since the kid actors mainly only appear in a short arc that last up to ep 10. But if you're into the parallel worlds / butterfly effect type of premise you might want to keep watching. It seems they jumped back and forth more than once.
will ๐ง world pei zhi appear again? I wanna see ๐ zhaoxi and ๐ง pei zhi reunite again ๐ฅฒ
In the book, only LCX travels between the worlds so whenever she went to the Cheese world, her interactions are with Cheese PZ. The drama isn't following the book at all on this point.
But the FL did hint in an interview that there's a scene where Steven has to play Cheese PZ and Strawberry PZ in quick succession so it seems we will see Cheese PZ again ...
Gosh, that moment in last night's ep where the PZ broke down after that glimpse of his mum and his dad in the…
I think I can finally get why the scriptwriter seems to have made things so much harsher for PZ in the strawberry world in the drama compared to the novel. The strawberry world is his harsh reality while the cheese world is a too good to be true utopia for him. The juxtaposition makes it so easy to understand why he'd be tempted to stay in the cheese world even though he knows it's not his place (and not his actual family).
I'm guessing PZ is about to find out that not everything is as rosy as it seems in the cheese world and that he can't solve his problems by running away ...
Gosh, that moment in last night's ep where the PZ broke down after that glimpse of his mum and his dad in the cheese world T____T poor kiddo (and gdi, Steven always manages to make me tear up with him).
I agree quite a bit. I loved ep 1-10, loved it too much! and then i feel so disconnected in the adult world. I…
There's a scene in Episode 12 where the strawberry world ML talks about his poor health and explains why he went to Germany and disappeared from the FL's life after high school. The ML has a mental health condition that's inherited from his maternal grandfather who's currently in a mental institution in Germany - his mum thinks the ML will end up like his grandfather if he follows his footsteps and studies math in depth too. In reality, it seems the ML's mental health got worse after his mum found out he was studying math with the FL's dad in high school and they started fighting over him wanting to pursue a math major in college. So the ML wound up staying in Germany to get treatment and reading a major not related to math in college ...
Anyway, they didn't name the condition ML has in the subs but there's a scene in one of the trailers where he's having a seizure of sorts on the ground.
I'm glad we're getting to see a bit more of Bao Xiaomeng too. I like her acting the most out of the younger supporting cast and she's really pretty ahah.
