Totally unrelated, but I love your profile picture of Cho Seung-woo. Is it from Stranger?
I always see people say the same things on most hyped dramas, like this one saying it's a masterpiece or the best Kdrama ever, so I don't care about it. But what annoys me the most are the people who waste their time hating those who like the drama anyway and say they're criticizing the drama and not the person. However, I think people use the word masterpiece too lightly, as not every good drama is brilliant enough to be a masterpiece.

I can see the kind of genre you're into. BE and Stranger are in my top 5; they definitely left an impression on me as well. I don't think I am into any specific genre, though; I can like it as long as it has all the aspects of a great drama.

I loved SFH, although I am not too fond of horror, and I plan to watch Children of Nobody. I don't see many people liking or talking about Stranger, so that's nice. Your profile picture was also kind of a give away. Have you watched Beyond Evil?

Ah, well, that's understandable. This drama had outstanding flaws, but unlike other people, I won't hate others for liking it or calling it a masterpiece, even though I think it was lacking in writing for it to be above average. This kind of reminds me of Vincenzo since I had the same thoughts on the tone of the drama, and I dropped it.

What do you mean by a little mature? I also get you for the most part; I returned to watching Korean dramas recently and decided to watch some recent and popular ones only to know how mediocre they are. I am not the person to compare everything to 2016 dramas since they have improved. But 2023 had to be one of the most lacklustre years in Kdrama history. I think the best/ favourite dramas I have watched are usually ones I go in blind to and don't read reviews of, so I may stick to doing that instead. Ratings are generally the most deceiving on MDL, so I don't like paying attention to them. What dramas have you liked, though?

He is one of my favourite actors; Stranger is also in my top 3 dramas, lol. However, I am glad that I didn't even try My Demon despite the incredible chemistry. Nothing ever goes right when I watch dramas because of hype or the fear of missing out.
Definitely watch it. It is really good. In my opinion, "My Mister" is the best drama I've ever watched (the only…
I decided not to watch it for now. A few reviews explained how pretentious it was compared to My Mister. I know it's also a series where you must be in the mood to watch it, but I don't think I can do that right now. I don't expect it to be as brilliant and heartwarming as My Mister, but I expect it to be higher than the average since it's a considerable time investment. I decided to stick to MLN instead and watch a few more dramas before then. I don't even think WWWSK can be put in the same paragraph as My Mister, but I get the comparison.
Why is this show so overrated? I couldn't even finish episode 1. The male lead, JJS, is so boring and uninteresting.…
I think it was overhyped as well, but I watched both seasons. I enjoyed it and thought it was well-written, but it's more of a chill watch and less of a thought-provoking or plot-heavy one, which is fine. But, it isn't one of the best or a masterpiece, but rather a wholesome, healing and comforting watch. The episodes were too long for me to enjoy, but I am glad you are continuing since it's more of a slow starter. Not exceptional, but still a good one.
It’s too bad because I was really excited for it since it got so much praise, and I have loved Ryu Jun Yeol…
I also checked your other reviews since this one was helpful and well-constructed, and I also felt the same way with CLOY. I could not get into the romance between the leads at all, and it ended up being decent overall, maybe good for a first-timer, but it's not one of the best dramas ever made. The secondary couple was much more interesting in terms of romance, and the platonic relationships between the NK men were much more congenial to watch.

Eh, I don't know. I can like slow-burn shows, but only if there is actual meaning and substance behind them. My Mister is an excellent example, and I loved it like everyone else did. I am very much a plot > vibes person, so I am still skipping out on this one since there are other good ones to try that aren't as pretentious. A good cast can not save a drama, and I would not be willing to spend more than 16 hours on one that just has filler. I saw another review similar to yours, and I was not entirely convinced to watch it in the first place, so it's now off my watchlist. Thank you for this review anyway.
My Mister is in my top three dramas of all time, although it didn't have much impact on me. Lost is a drama I will be watching soon, but now I am doubting watching it as it seems pretentious. I guess I have to skip watching this one.
