Just finished all 6 episodes. It's not bad so far and it's pretty funny. I'm enjoying the characters. The FL is really funny. I'm enjoying the story between the leads so far. Their dynamic is cute. The ML background story is interesting, and I like how they are slowly revealing it.
My only issue so far is how some of the scenes are cut. By their dialogue, you know a scene is missing. Example: in ep 6 When FL made dinner for ML and ML said "you only make good food for me when you need to ask me a favor." That dialogue didn't really make sense cause nothing that has happened so far on screen prove this statement. Nothing the FL has done so far proves this statement, so that's why I think a scene or couple scenes were missing. Maybe if if some episodes weren't only 35 mins they could have shown us a scene that connected this statement. Sigh. Ep 5 is my favorite so far. I didn't really enjoying ep 6.
Also, I'm not really liking the fox spirit character. Now yall don't jump me cause I know the actor is some of yall favorite, but I'm just not liking his character. He's annoying so far. Maybe he will change and I will like his character later. Who knows...
Anyways, I'm looking forward to the rest of the episodes.

I read somewhere that dubbing happens in dramas because they want all actors to sound the same across the board. Some actors have different accents so sometimes it might be hard to understand them.
But like you, I'm hoping the industry gets to a point where dubbing isn't needed anymore. They could just get the actors dialect coaches instead if it's needed. Here's to hoping!!

That person says he doesn't pick good script, I didn't agree, but rather gave an explanation why it might seem like that, and I even gave the challenges ZLH might face in the industry. Please take emotions out of it.
Also, maybe read up on ZLH a bit and you might see what I was saying. He is different from other actors, no acting background. He majored in electrical engineering. So coming into the industry, he didn't have the advantages like many of his peers had. But because he has an amazing talent for acting, he's made it this far.
But like I said, talent alone is not enough to make it in the Chinese entertainment industry. You need a good backer. As unfortunate as it sounds, there are many talented actors out there who we will never get to see their talent because they just don't have someone to strongly support them.

I don't think it's really that he doesn't know how to pick a script, but rather that he doesn't have a strong backer. This was made obvious in how he was treated in TPR.
From my understanding (reading what others have said), he is an actor who didn't come from a major acting school or have any experience in acting before becoming an actor. So coming in, he was already at a disadvantage with "mingling and rubbing shoulders" with the "elites" BUT his acting proves that wasn't necessary. He's a talent all on his own.
But unfortunately, the reality of the matter in life is, even with an amazing talent, one needs powerful people behind them to be able to make it in this dog eat dog world. Quite sad...
