I understand where people are coming from about HT loving JX because he did all these amazing things for her and helped her a lot. And without him, she wouldn't have made it. All commendable really. BUT, MAJOR HOWEVER, That's not how love works.
We gotta love people how THEY want to be loved, NOT how we think they should be loved. HT can do all these big gestures for JX as a way to profess his love, BUT if JX doesn't feel loved, then it's all for nothing. That's how life works.
Everyone has a different love language that works for them and make them happy. If someone does not feel like they are being loved properly, then even giving them the moon won't suffice. This is what I want you guys to understand and stop being to harsh on JX. JX does not feel loved by HT, it's that simple. I hope yall try to understand her more.

ZLH & JGM had such amazing chemistry together that went underutilized by the director and production team. TPR really could have been the best show of the summer if they hadn't f-ed up the writing so bad to highlight SML.

The romance in SOKP is actually better than the one on TPR. It's more fleshed out and you can actually see why the/how the leads fall in love. The ML has a purpose other than chasing the FL. The FL is also smart and cunning. They made the perfect couple.
Even with a slow burn romance, you get the chemistry from the beginning. I think they kissed around ep 27 or 28? But everything that happens before then is chemistry packed, so you won't even miss a kiss.
But if that's the reason why this person is calling SOKP a slow burn, then TPR could also be considered a slow burn because how many times did PWX confess his feelings to LR only to be rejected? But she always make puppy eyes at SML? Up until the end of the show??
Lol for me, this is why their romance stopped being enjoyable. I LOVED this couple so so much in the beginning. (Like the first 18 episodes or so). If you go through this comment section, I was one of LR strongest defenders when this show started airing. PWX and LR were my absolute babies and I defended them to death. But even they couldn't save the drama because the producers couldn't utilize their chemistry well. Their chemistry felt lacking in the later episodes. I think it's because of how forcefully the SML was inserted between them
Even when they started giving them cute scenes, the very next scene we will see LR being mesmerized by SRQ, so it just always fekt like their romance wasn't even worth it. I was always waiting for a payoff of their romance, but that never came for me. Cause even at the very bitter end, LR would rather kill herself and her unborn child to save SRQ than watch him die. So again...
Though I ended up disappointed with TPR, I still go back and watch the beginning of this show cause those episodes are my absolute favorite.
PS: For me, it was SOKP that made me like ZLH as an actor.

But you as a viewer knows that that company is a snake. We as viewers have the complete story because we've seen most sides. JX doesn't know this. JX doesn't have the knowledge we have. These things are happening to her in real time. As far as she's concerned, she's getting another investment from a company. She's new to all this and doesn't know that company is bad.
So as a viewer that has more information than the characters, please give characters grace. Until everything is revealed to them.

Lol I'm not taking sides. I'm on both their sides. (They are each right in their own way) But I feel like JX is been judged too harshly for working with Tongke. We as viewers know that they are a bad company because we've seen the big picture. JX doesn't know this. She's a fish out of water in the business world and everything is new to her. In her mind, she's doing the right thing by getting another investment. She doesn't know that company is the big bad wolf. We as viewers know this, so we should give her some grace. I also found myself being annoyed with her, but then I remembered this and decided to give her grace.
I noticed in ep 28 when HT took JX to the wonton restaurant that he said that every time he returned to Beijing, he would come to this wonton place to eat. For me, this goes to disprove some people's idea that HT has had loved JX for 15yrs. He had a crush on her when they were in university. THAT'S IT. He never looked for her after he left. Even when he would visit Beijing, he never seeked her out. It was just a crush. Their chance meeting at Douyang is what reignited the crush. And later lead to them dating. It was all by chance. A beautiful chance they got!!
Lili ex has some major nerve on him, doesn't he??? Lol he really tried to give her a ring without the benefit of marriage and expected her to accept it??? The nerve of this guy?? Lol. I hope he realize how much of a douche he is and I hope Lili atands her ground cause she deserves better. XYX need to go to therapy.
That wedding of those two annoying people was annoying and not needed. I have never fast forwarded a scene so fast in my life😭 Ain't nobody got time for their shenanigans.

I am enjoying everyone (viewers) taking sides on the break up. But also realizing that they are both wrong in their own way. This comment section has been a delight to read. I love that no one is being mean and even though people are taking sides, they still respect the other side.

I totally get where you are coming from. Though I loved the main couple and stayed for them, the way the show is written, the emotional scenes do not hit the mark quite right. Everything just comes off as bland. Though, the actors really did a good job with what they were given. It's just the writing is awful, so the scenes don't give the right emotional impact.
Before you give up on c-drmas, you should watch As Beautiful As You. It's airing right now. It's a really good show. The writing is amazing and the emotinal scenes hit quiye right. You will fall in love with the MC.

It's a Xu Kai drama, so of course antis are down voting it on purpose. Lol I noticed this a long time ago esp with WOL. So now whenever he has a drama out, I don't even bother with the MDL ratings. I watch the drama and decide for myself if it's good or not.

I started this show at a 10 and for a while I was one of it's fierce defender. But even I had to give up. Even my love for ZLH couldn't stop me from getting angry at the poor writing and directing of this show all because they try to highlight a support character. And in turn discarding the main ML. Lol I ended it with a 6. I gave up😭

And omgggg I'm now dying from diabetes 😭😭 My favorite couple is so cute together. Their chemistry is off the charts. All I do is smile while watching them. I replayed the scene where HT ask JX to be his girlfriend over and over and over again. Can't get enough of them!! Writers and director, thank you very much for bringing this story to life so well and putting together the most amazing actors!!
Story wise, I like how everything is playing out so far. All these issues happening is not just highlighting JX ability to be a boss, but also showing the dynamics in HT & JX relationship and how they problem solve. I enjoy them working through a problem together and seeing their different approaches. In fact, I look forward to it because I know they are going to come at problems from different angles. They are definitely not a boring couple.
I know there's a breakup coming, but according to novel readers, this is one break up that we won't be mad at because it is needed. And they are going to come back stronger. So I'm not worried. I hope the writers and director keep this amazing writing and momentum going!
