Just finished ep 26&27 and this show just keep getting better and better. The storytelling is still strong and the characters keep growing. I really love the continuous developing relationship with RY and NYZ. Slowly, slowly, NYZ is teaching RY how to receive love and give love back. I love how the show is taking it's time processing their love. So props to director/writers for that!
I really love how this show portrays NYZ. He's timid, shy and acts like a teenager in love, when he needs to be. BUT, he can switch to being the big bad boss who will kill you with one shot in a matter of minutes. And all of this is absolutely believable. Liu Yu Ning portrays this character so well that all his actions comes off as natural. Nothing is awkward about it. You totally believe this is who he is.
I have been thinking of other actors that I think might fit the finess needed to pull off such a role without it coming off as awkward, and I CANNOT THINK of any actor that will portray the character so well. THIS ROLE WAS MADE FOR LIU YU NING!!.
Lol also I really like that they address LTG craziness head on. Most shows never EXPLICITLY address the craziness of the SML and everyone just pretends it's normal. I'm glad they are not doing that here and calling it what it is. CRAZY. INSANITY.
I have mixed thoughts on today’s eps. The highlights are few and they’re YY(very consistently good), the bros…
I see your point. It feels like they are overdoing it right? It does get a little repetitive.
BUT, I don't think they are trying to portray him as the best man. From my understanding of this show since the beginning, NYZ was put on this earth to teach RY how to love. This show really is RY journey to love and becoming human again.
Everything we've seen so far is RY dealing with her past and her reactions to situations. NYZ is either always helping her fight her demons(literally/figuratively) or being supportive in the background.
Yes, we (viewers) know that NYZ is a good man, but it's still RY journey and she NEEDS as MANY assurances as possible. It's not an easy process. And I like that the show is taking its time with it. Lol it really wouldn't be realistic if RY that never believed in love or people, start believing all of a sudden just cause she fell in love. It takes time to undo years of "brainwash" So NYZ is constantly showing her how to love.
As for that speech he gave LTG, it was needed in that moment. All of LTG action is driven by infatuation with his master. He doesn't really see her as human, just as someone he "loves" so NYZ needed to set him straight.
This show really have the title right. All of this show is a journey to love. Not just romantic, but, all kinds of love (parents, teachers, lovers, friends, etc).
This. The whole squad is loveable so everything is enjoyable. Even the scenes of other peeps are quick and not…
Yes. even though the show is still going on, I find myself rewatching again and again cause it's just that good.
The camaraderie in this show is really the best thing. The interactions in the squad makes me CACKLE all the time. And it's just so sweet to see RY and YY (princess) become part of the squad
So while we are waiting for new episodes, I'm rewatching the show again. (Lol this is my second time rewatching again) And I gotta say yall, there's really NO FILLER episodes in this show.
Even the episodes where there's not much fighting going on, we still have the characters dealing with their different relationships. And these episodes gives us more insight into the characters growth and arc. Every episodes builds up the next one.
One thing I like is that we don't really have an overall big bad guy in this show. Villains are dispatched with quickly and the story keeps on. We really are going with them on a journey!
I stopped watching this drama long time ago. I normally watch all drama religiously if it has good exciting start.…
I don't understand you. If you dropped this drama "long ago" why did you come here today to leave a negative comment??? Why do you still care if you dropped it long ago?
Also, what you just listed here are NOT FACTS. It's your opinion. The fact is, the drama is good and have a good review because of this.
You probably dropped it in the first 5 episodes and are now complaining about the whole drama you have not seen. Why?
Once again ep 21 and 22 have left me feeling really good. The story is progressing so strongly and the storytelling keeps getting better and better. One thing that really stands out to me is how the writers/director treats each relationship with care. Whether it's btw NYZ/RY or the whole group or RY/LTG. The writers really show respect to these relationships and it's making the show better.
Firstly, I really love how they solved NYZ and RY "big issue." I love the fact that they BOTH compromised. Not just one person giving up their ideals, but both of them willing to do what the other want. NYZ and RY relationship is truly one of the best in drama land. Their communication game is on POINT! That scene when they were on the bed talking is really beautiful.
Secondly, I really love how they are dealing with LTG character. I'm glad they didn't go down the trope of jealous insane character just for the sake of it. Yes, he can be bratty, cheeky, and muddle headed, but he's also quite brilliant and a good person. I love that they make the other characters (esp NYZ) recognize this and is dealing with it properly.
Our princess/prince has really grown and I think she really is one of the best written characters in the show. Lol also Qian Zhao is so funny😂😂
Secondly, WOW, the plot is getting interesting. Ep 20 was just wow. That scene when RY was talking to LTG was well executed. From her movements, to her facial expressions, to her voice, grabbing his face, and the whole dialogue was just well done and EXCELLENT.
This scene took my breath away and from beginning to end of when she started scolding him, I was at the edge of my seat waiting for her next words... Liu Shi Shi is really doing an amazing job playing RY character.
There's so much happening now. How are they going to deal with the whole poison thing, would Shisan become a target after taking the blame for killing that guy? Who in the state of An wants LTG dead, and how will this impact the delegation. I'm so excited for all these possible sub plots!!!
Episode 19 and 20 was EPIC!! The storytelling in this show is really good so far. And the actors are all doing an excellent job portraying their characters and getting us to understand their characters. Liu Yu Ning is really holding his own and I'm really impressed with his acting. His emotions are all done really well amd nothing feels awkward.
First things first, I really LOVE how NYZ and RY communicate. Yes, they have this "big issue" about their future, but they are slowly talking it out, understanding each others pov and respecting each other's pov. I like that the writers are not making this into such a big plot point (lol yet) and are giving our leads the space and time to figure it out.
I want to say, AGAIN, the dialogues between NYZ and RY are always amazing and makes me root for them.
NYZ: I believe our problem will be solved soon. Because in this world, there's only one Ren Ruyi
RY: In this world, there's only one Ning Yuan Zhou.
This made me melt🥹 Props to the writers for giving us such amazing dialogues.
Episodes 13/14 were a bit boring…Nothing much happened and those repetitive sequences of the main leads staring…
Lol I keep seeing people saying ep 13 and 14 are boring, but I don't think so.
These two episodes might seem slow, (it felt like the major plot was not moving forward) BUT they gave us a lot of character development with NYZ and RY. How they communicate with each other, how they handle their feelings, and how things might be in the future. We also got to see the camaraderie in the group.
We also got some background information and a lot of important foreshadowing on how things might play out in the future.
I thought it was a delight to watch. Lol maybe I'm just weird.
I think maybe now that she has finally gotten her revenge and being through her "crying" phase, we can finally move on tomorrow!!

And when I think of how childish and immature the King of Wu is anyway, I don't mind him not being rescued ðŸ¤

All you need is a little cough from them...ðŸ¤ðŸ˜‚

I haven't started watching it yet. Is it not good? It just started so maybe it's slow?

They really did her character justice

Second part of review cont...
Lol these past three days with no episodes were torture. Let me go watch and see how my favorite country is progressing!!
Anyway Jeremy Tsui is an amazing actor. Go watch him in "The Autumn Ballard," "Legend of the Phoenix," "Be my Princess," and "Royal Rumors."
These are just some shows he's amazing in
