Yea, since they started having disagreements about Li Ni becoming crown prince, that's when I feel like they should have had a heart to heart conversation. But rather the writers made them talk at each other instead of with each other.
After that got solved, there were still so many instances where they could have had a heart to heart, but the writers didn't do that. I LOVE this show, but damn, am I disappointed...
After watching all the episodes i kinda have to admit that the negative traits of Cui Lin is she's the type that…
This assessment I agree with. The writers "babied" her character too much and at some point in the show stunted her character development.
I haven't seen the new episodes (from 34 onwards) yet so I don't know yet what will happen. But her actions after the wedding pissed me off. I love Cui Lin but my girl is hard to defend sometimes ๐ฉ
So we have another annoying and dumb FL here? thx for the warning ๐คญ
Actually, no, she is NOT dumb or annoying. Her character is pretty smart. It's just one episode, the latest one that got people (myself included) pissed with her. But it's natural if you watch the show you will understand why, and her actions.
Omg episode 33 and 34 are so GOOD!!! lol jealous XW is quite funny and scary. Why he made her eat fish in vinegar so she can understand how jealous he is???๐
On a serious note, I like how the writers have handled XW background coming to light, esp with JXN finding out. I love that they didn't spend time for XW to explain it to her himself but rather she figured out with clues from previous episodes. This is why I think that cave scene from previous episode was necessary. Lol even with the kiss and all. This cave scene laid the background for understanding from JXN part.
It's especially important she figured it out then, especially with the whole lord Pinnang thing now. And like she doesn't spend time questioning him about it (yet) but just accept it with understanding. Kudos to the writers for such an amazing storytelling!!!
Oh and I also love how Marquis Yan and YL really trust XW and are willing to go to war for him. Just trust that he has a plan. Looking forward to the next episodes!!!
Li Ni has the patience of a saint because any other ML would have thrown it into her face how everything happened…
GIRRLLLL!!! Lol tell me about it. I actually wished he had said that to her. But with the way the writers "babies" her character, they wouldn't want her to face any consequences of her actions. It's always Li Ni's fault for not thinking one hundred steps ahead. Never Cu Lin's fault ๐
politics and militiary are two different and great aspects . our girl already perform an excellence in militiary…
I have always given her the benefit of the doubt since this show started. Like I said, I have come up with every excuse for her, but it's time for her to wake up. Being in the army, for as long as she has been, SHE KNOWS things are political. This is not tbe first time some political sh&t has gone down. So her reaction isn't making sense to me
The writers have "babied" her character too much and it's always Li Ni's character always making concessions. It's not fair. It's time for her to wake up.
Episode 34 was really hard to watch. Cui Lin's character needs A REALITY CHECK. For the past few eps, her character have not shown any growth. The writers have stunted her character and it's getting hard to watch or root for her. I hope the writers fix her character soon.
I have been Cu Lin's biggest defender on here throughout this series. But even I grew tired of her short sightedness in ep 34. This is how it has been all season, she never gives Li Ni the benefit of the doubt WHEN IT MATTERS. She really never takes his feelings into consideration when it matters, only when it benefits her. And when it doesn't, she throws a fit.
Even with all this, I have constantly defended her cause that's just her character trait. But at some point we have to call bullsh&t and hold her accountable for her actions. She has never seriously said she didn't want to marry him and become crown princess. They are in love, so the most logical step is for them to marry. This man does so much for her. He thought they were on the same path, but yet she is always acting on emotions that only benefits her.
I feel really bad for General Cui, but lets not forget they are in this position because father and daughter plotted to let Li Ni be the crown prince. General Cui put a target on his back the moment he submitted that memorial. How can they not think ahead and realized that thier actions will eventually impact the Cui army?
But now Li Ni should take all the blame cause things didn't go the way she predicted? I'm sorry but my girl needs a reality check.
although i agree with comments who are blaming cui lin for her nature against li ni but if we think from her perspective…
I agree with you, but I also disagree. I have been Cu Lin's biggest defender on here throughout this series. But even I grew tired of her short sightedness in ep 34. And when it doesn't, she throws a fit.
She spent so much time trying to force Li Ni to become crown prince but didn't think of all the consequences that might affect her since they are in a relationship. She never thinks of the bigger picture, just what might benefit her at the moment.

Now to the show. There were so many amazing scenes these past few episodes, esp with JXN dad being petty to XW. Lol. Fake Dungfei stoking the fire๐
I'm glad XW and JXN are finally at a place where they are communicating and JXN is finally starting to see him in a different light. That cave scene was necessary. it really just changed the dynamic between them. That whole scene was an emotional one for XW and you can see the pain on his face. Esp when he asked JXN to die with him... the fear and desperation in his voice...
Lol It's so funny to see XW be all obedient and agreeable. Can't wait to see how their relationship plays out..
SOMEBODY TAKE ALL THE LIGHTS AND FANS AWAY FROM THIS DIRECTOR. WE ARE SICK OF IT!!
Just finally caught up to ep 32. And yall this show keeps getting better and better. Ep 32 was so emotional... XW giving JXN reasons not to leave. You can definitely feel all his emotions... JXN and her mother finally having a heart to heart... I never thought something like that would make me cry, but here we are. I think it's because the writers did that scene so well, esp when JXN finally called her "mother." Their reconciliation was well worth the wait. Props to the writers!
First things first, somebody, anybody, needs to take away the ring lights, the led lights, the spot lights, the flood lights, and all other types of lights away from this director. oh, and the fans. TAKE ALL LIGHTS AND FANS AWAY!
I watch this for xukai and I only like their fighting scenes but romance scenes are so bad they make me skip ,…
You need to say their relationship didn't work "for you" that "you" didn't enjoy it. So that others reading your comment don't think it's fact.
You are very much entitled to your opinion. And it's fine that you don't enjoy the romance in this show. This show isn't really for everyone. However, don't state your opinion as fact because it's not the same for many other people.
i am only on episode 12 and i hate gao han character๐๐๐๐ probably i am the only one but thatโs it…
Lol keep watching and you are going to HATE him even more. Lol I think we all knew he was crazy, but didn't realize just how DEEP his craziness ran.๐
Omg I thought episode 30 was sad yesterday, but damn it, I truly wasn't prepared for ep 31 today. Watching them mourn individually was just A LOT to take in. Li Ni laying in bed crying and talking about his lost family, A'ying holding his hand and crying with him, Er blaming himself and crying... This episode had all the feels in it.
Okay so, I've seen some people saying that Li Ni becoming the crown prince was tied up "too nicely" because he didn't resolve his major disagreement with A'ying about the crown prince position. Which was a major conflict in their relationship I respectfully disagree with this take.
The whole conflict about A'ying forcing him to become the crown prince was resolved. Remember, since they couldn't come to an amicable agreement about the issue, Li Ni decided to part ways with A'ying. He gave her back her love token and took his. Even though he loved her very much, he wasn't going to let her push him into something. They agreed to disagree and partways. We might not like it, but THAT WAS THE RESOLUTION to that conflict between them.
I do get where you guys are coming from. The conflict between them was so big that we watch them disagree for eight episodes that we were expecting this big resolution. I think the mistake the writers made is that even though they gave us a "big" resolution (Li Ni parting ways with A'ying and taking back his love token A'ying had since ep 1, was a pretty big thing) they burried it. There was too much happening and it wasn't given the much needed attention it needed. So I can see how people missed it.
We all knew Li Ni was going to become the crown prince whether he wants to or not. But it's the road to it that was interesting. I love the fact that he didn't let A'ying force him into it. (Though she was right). But from the beginning, the writers wanted him to come to whatever decision on his own.
Though the circumstances that led him to that decision is sad, he needed to walk that path to come to HIS realization.
Watched 2 epis. Can't continue. The VA dubbing is so off. Voices don't match faces. Everything sounds so unnatural.…
Where are you watching it on? 32 episodes have played and you are the first person to comment about this?? Maybe it's the platform you are watching it on?
because I'm still on episode 14! The teasers are not making me cry. I need to wait until I get to the brutal scenes,…
For episode 30, you will definitely cry. Unless you've seen video spoilers, reading about it just doesn't have the same impact as actually watching it.
Before I watched it this morning, I read some spoilers on here. But still, I wasn't prepared for the massive effect that episode will have on me. It's not just because of how everything went down, but also because these are characters we've gotten attached to and one by one we watch them drop like flies. And the ending shot..... it's really heart breaking.
Like I said in my comment earlier, only ONE other show (TMOPB) have broken my heart thoroughly into pieces. And now this show is added to the list.

Give it a chance and you will end up liking her.
