There was actually. It's not in the official trailer, but it's those short promo videos. adopted mom gave lx ceremonal pastry from Lin Household bc LJQ was getting married. The Lin family were gifting pastries to everyone in the manor including servants. The pastry had Lin character on it so little LX cried bc that should've been her during the wedding day. She wasn't crying bc she couldn't marry LJQ, instead she was in despair bc of what happened to her family and the fate of her and her family. In another perfect world, she would've been the bride, and it would've been a joyous moment for both families, but now she's in hiding and now the identity of a family of servants.
Sexual assaults, physical violence, verbal abuse… He threatens her and forces her to do countless things, sexually…
I agree all the above of what Linayeol said But I can't some to hate ml in the novel. The power of writing, instead it intirgued me to continue reading. The novel was praised by public for how well written it was, and that the author was able to make ml not as hateable
I so agree with you on the filters. Don't make everyone look like porcelain dolls. Let them look real.
that's why I switch to hollywood sometimes. They don't care about beauty like that and show all the wrinkles, freckles, frownlines etc. Chinese beauty is brutal, if there's even one wrinkle, cnetizens will blow it up and ridicule the actress.
Does he know this is his former fiancee? Previews say she's using an assumed name. Also is their harem drama in…

she seems to have formed really good relationships with directors. Momo (Master of my own) director promoted, and she also travelled to Singapore, Europe with the female director of LXRG.
What I'm surprised is Sun Li and Yan Ni supporting and promoting. I feel like these two super veterans don't normally promote. I'm so surprised so many have come out to support. I'm so hapy for SS and for this drama. Hope for a successful run!
S+, a true S+, hence why it looks like a S++. Most dramas are S budget that have decent results after and during airing so it's upgraded to S+. But the actual production isn't S+.

Chunjuan has been everywhere promoting ss, it's like a fan instead of a brand. The level of loyalty.
I have never ever in my life seen this many people support ss, she's always so low key so I'm very very touched and estatic. Who would've thought Sun Li and Yan Ni would come out to support her. It's like half the entertainment acting circle came to support and promote.
Crazyy! Btw, where do you go to see if a drama is S or S+, like this one?
You mean where to find out if a drama is categorized as S or S+? When a drama is first announced to be produced and filmed, they announce whether it’s S or S+. I typically find it on Weibo or red book.
Holy moly 14 songs?!! That's insane, I'm so happy for this drama to get the funding and promotion it deserves. Finally, a true S+ drama for ss. I'm a tad disappointmed that I didn't hear lxy sing. I also was hoping ss and lxy can do a duet
I have never seen her promote like this with another male costar. This is so darn cute, it’s like awkward, but…
Abay def didn't have this kind of promotion. Oh wait, I think I rmb. I still think this is more upgraded haha. Don't even talk to me about xy promo, disgrace
Hola, Por mera curiosidad estoy leyendo algunos capítulos de la novela de este drama; he llegado hasta el capítulo…
Perhaps you can read the novel after Finish watching the drama. I skipped 100 chapters and read Onwards from there.
I really, really like the novel. It can be quite erotic at times, so obviously some scenes would have to be cut for TV. The ML’s way of getting the FL into his inner court as his woman was also… nothing to praise. He took advantage of her vulnerable situation and used it to make a trade. There’s also domestic violence and rape, which obviously wouldn’t fit with what can be shown publicly in China. The author writes the ML so beautifully, though, that I still can’t bring myself to hate him. What I find especially interesting about the ML is how damn smart he is. He understands women and how they think, so he can almost always see through their sweet words, innocent acts, and hidden motives. He’s cunning and manipulative enough to get what he wants, but he has a baseline—he’s not necessarily a bad person, just very morally grey. Even with his harem, he treats the women almost like playthings. If he’s in a good mood, he’ll spoil them; if they try to play smart or use sneaky tricks, he’ll let it amuse him for a while, but once they cross the line, he’ll punish them. He’s also a total Casanova and frequently visits brothels. Even after the FL became his lover, he continued sleeping with other women. It was truly a slow burn before she eventually became the only woman in his inner court. And the funny thing is, the FL didn’t really care that he was sleeping with other women. She was scared and angry because she wanted to escape, but with no resources, she was constantly caught and brought back. Honestly, I don’t think most viewers would accept an ML like this, so it makes sense that his character would have to be changed for the drama adaptation.
Well, first wife turned ex.
