The big city is definitely different than country side. Everyone has a degree, without one it's hard to find a job. Just like today, everyone has bachelors it's not even something to praise anymore. Some even have masters, yet job market is bad. So seeing fwz, expelled from uni, she can't even write down her education, she can only start from the labour intensize jobs, and a girl like her raised like a princess, it's going to be hard. We will see her resilient side.
Although I'm a 90s baby, I can't relate much, even the wardrobe or the 90s prop they use. Especially since I'm born overseas. But it's still nice to see what my parents may have grew up in.
This seems to be the trend lately. There's so many of them airing already, and it's only the first quarter of…
my gosh, I can't even count how many times i've cried since ep 1. Each ep I cry at least twice.
It's true, a lot of these type of era dramas are airing this year. I did watch a bit of Lover story in the 1970s, but MD hits harder. Idk if it's bc it's SS' drama, or perhaps it's the plot-could be both since I'm very picky. Even though I'm a fan of SS, I would still drop some of her dramas if it's not to my interest. So far, this drama is very rich, never a dull moment, and i have not seen any filler eps which I appreciate. I'm so sick of 2fl/2ml having so much screen time that does little to the storyline. They are there bc their company invested in the production. But, this drama has no useless characters. Idk how far I will watch this drama, but for now, at least it's still good in my books.
Fwz giving her speech to the classroom and exposing the Han scoundrel and his scumbag brother. Then she turned to the teachers and school leaders to apologize and beg to retain Xingke’s student status- I cried.
When fwz and her adopted dad had a misunderstanding. How heartbroken and disappointed her adopted dad was. And to do it in front of adopted mom’s tomb.
When Yu Granny calling for fwz’s name. Granny’s helplessness and desperation. She’s been in the household since fwz was born, she’s raised her for 2 decade like her real granny, not just a in house maid. The family was so harmonious up until adopted mom passed away- I felt emotional
Fwz being threatened by Han brother on the train got me so nervous and sweating. I thought he was going to hurt her, but she was so fed up and had nothing to lose. It was so satisfying to hear her say “if you have the guts, kill me to silence me or else leave”. It shows fwz is very resilient, and she doesn’t back down to bullying.
This type of dramas is not really my cup of tea but I subscribe to YouKu to support Seven. Ep 1 is very eye catching…
Same. Not my genre. I typically prefer the type like chasing jade. But I’m watching this for ss. Luckily, there’s never a dull moment. The director really didn’t waste any scenes. It’s fast pace and even the last 5mins of ep 3 he uses it to surprise us. There’s no filler scenes as of yet, which I appreciate. I e been crying a lot watching this drama, I especially cherish fwz and her father’s scene. Every actor/actress in this show is phenomenal with their acting skills. The casting is amazing, I’m very satisfied and glad ss was able to participate in this drama. Her acting actually improved and so did her crying skills. I felt each scene she cried was different.
Ep 3 really getting me anxious. Although I may not experience all these human nature stuff, I'm still somewhat exposed to it from dramas and from what my mom tells me, but to witness this happening to fwz and her dad is making me so anxious.
Can't blame fwz for falling for this scum bag. She's young , 21yo, and inexperienced. No one talks much about their romance experience (nor did they experience romance like today) and what to avoid or look for in a guy, so she ofc falls in love with a man that's outstanding and handsome on the outside, all girls vying for. He's also good with his words, sweet talking her. Her judgement is also clouded with so many things happening in her life, that she may want to lean on his shoulder for support. Girls these days fall in love with scumbags when they are inexperienced, as long as they learn from their mistakes.
I see some comments on chinese media disagreeing fwz going to see her bio family, and that it's heartless to her adoptive parents. If I were in fwz's shoes I would be wondering why my bio parents left me, and I would want to know how they are doing. Just because going to see them doesn't mean accepting them. She wants to see where her roots are, that's it. Ep 3, she clearly stated she only wanted to see her roots and that she has no more relation with them. But, alas, she doesn't know by revealing her identity and giving money to those greedy poor relatives will cause her much problem
She does have 4 men in her life but they are just passerbys. The main storyline is her making it big in the big city, shenzhen. This is based on a true story from a novel.
Sigh, I kind of understand why she's so emotional and wreckless, like her mom died and then caught her dad in…
She has many variation to her name. I used to refer her as tsy but now ss cuz it’s faster. Ss= song song= tan song yun. It’s the middle character of her name repeated twice. Some of her Chinese fans refer her as that so I started using ss.
I'm actually glad she met her bio siblings and bio dad. She's been too sheltered and raised as a princess, so she can finally see the real human nature aka her bio 2nd older sis. She can gradually leave her niave view and be more smart on revealing info. She doesn't understand that with her father's position, she has a lot of advantages and doing or saying certain things will harm her dad
Sigh, I kind of understand why she's so emotional and wreckless, like her mom died and then caught her dad in…
fwz's mom's family has some kind of legacy and well respected and seems well off. The house surprisingly belongs to her mom, and seems like the dad married in to her family instead. But, even though a bit inferior, he is still a vice chief of the town so still very impressive. A govt official. I quite like the fast pace, bc these type of drama is usually not my style, i'm only watching for ss, and so far the plot is good and rich

Sigh, I kind of understand why she's so emotional and wreckless, like her mom died and then caught her dad in the act with maybe mistress, and then she demanded the letter and triple whammy she found out her identity. I get where her dad is coming from, hoping she reads the letter when she's more mentally/emotionally stable and mature, have her own career and kids, then when she has her own family and year of experience the letter won't be as traumatizing. I feel bad for her dad, and he's right, he lost his lover just as much as she lost her mom.
How many times is fwz going to cry in ep 2. I felt like the whole ep she was crying non stop. SS is an amazing actress, her crying scenes are all different.
I like the details this drama has. I'm still on ep 1, but this drama already shows the social economic difference between fwz's family and others. Firstly, fwz has a house maid/granny that makes meals for them, and fwz hersel is very fair and light skin, while the little boy that became her "brother" or lackey has sun kissed skin showing that he's out in the sun a lot, most likely doing labour work like fishing/farming etc. Something that fwz's family doesn't do as they are of the educated tier. However, fwz's parents have taught her well.
I at first thought fwz's mom was mad bc she gathered the village children to fight back against bully, but I'm very surprised it was bc her daughter was referred as "princess" by other peers. Which, to her mom, indicated she was vain and boasting of her background. Of all the dramas I've ever watched, I have not once seen a parent lecture and teach their child a lesson about not being vain or acting superior or rich. I really like this scene and to me it's a memorable scene and integral to fwz' change and belief.
Teen fwz reminds me of LJJ from GA, however fwz is definitely more daring, she already slapped a bully in ep 1, we will see how many guys she slaps in her life time.
Just 5mins 40sec in to first ep and I started tearing. How am I suppose to continue on 🤣
When little fwz rubbed her face to her mom, I found that so endearing. I really felt the love between mother and daughter. Little fwz grew up in such a loving and protective family.
