Actually, I find it fitting for LX. Keep in mind she's explaining this to a 15yo and 11yo about reasons to live, to not do bad things that one would regret. In the children's stand point, she mentioned her adopted parents and her child. They are children, why would you mention about romance when they haven't experienced it yet, but mention familial love, about her parents-the children can associate to their mom. When Lx mentioned her child-the children can think of themselves in that stand point too. It's about relatedness to the situation and people. To me, LX mentioned what the children can relate.

The weather, plants, fireworks, going to plays, these are all certain type of hobbies, enjoyments and things to look forward to in daily lives. It's these little things that sometimes make one cherish life. Enjoying nature, breathing in fresh air, having sun rays basking on your skin. This drama is no longer, never was actually, about romance. It's about survival and living life well under each person's circumstance.

Personally, for me, if she mentioned LJQ, then it would become a bit cringe and tacky.

I think the next ep or so will be of LX proving she can be the matriarch of Lin family. It will be a bit hard for everyone to submit to her, but I know our girl can do it!

Second madam is not a concubine. she is a primary madam of the 2nd lin branch. Old Master Lin has 2 sons, ljq is born of first branch.

To add to Calla's points, both ljq and lx were teary during the scene of burning the trinkets and then them holding hands. LX grasping both their hands at the end of the scene is already a silent acknowledgement. You got to read the social cues.

I forgot to add that when ljq asked his father about shenjialan, ljq lost his standing and had to grab the table. It showed he was emotional and shocked. He already pieced everything together

I never liked 3rd bro's wife the very first time I saw her. She rubbed me the wrong way with her haughty attitude, and proved it when she wanted to grab power the very second Madam closed her eyes. It doesn't make sense for 2nd Lin family to hold power when first Lin family's members are still there!! LJQ is freaken still standing. Thank god he came out glaring. Gosh, can't even allow people to grieve and they have to hold themselves proper to handle business.

I now find that if they both acknolwedged what they both knew out loud, it's lazy writing and also lazy acting for the leads. With this way, it will evoke more reaction and emotion from the viewers.

Ohh, I didn't think of the parallelism. People are upset her character didn't reveal herself upfront?? Then they still haven't understood LX's character. If LX revealed it outloud then it's out of character of her, she's been careful her whole life after the event of Shens. She has more to protect now, more than ever.

It was scary seeing from Madam's pov (LJQ's mom), on her death bed, her vision slowly turning blurry. Her last essence of life fading from her pov, trying so hard to stay awake knowing that once her strength leaves her she will never open her eyes again.

How can ljq not utterly love lx even more. Knowing the wife you begged for was actually the one destined for you in the very beginning. It was a very touching moment when ljq proved himself that he didn't care about her true identity, and burnt all the evidence. Also both admiting to each other the big elephant in the room, that ljq knows about her shen identity and her admitting it. I felt like the silent acknowledgement from both stance felt more emotional than actually saying the words out loud

OMG, lx was going to confess and tell ljq of her identity, and then her child cried and her adopted other sang nursery rhyme. It woke her up from being emotional to logical again. She couldn't risk her adopted parents and now her daughter.

Definitely. The Marquis, the bro in-law, kept mentioning the king cutting military funding. That's already a big clue that the king wants to decrease military power of these commanders/generals. Life is good, so the king is already getting wary of the men with military power. There's no war or civil crises, so the king wants to take back the military power and weaken the ones that hold it. The only way to take back military power, without outwardly offending others and losing morale is to either seize power back as punishment (e.g., treason, misconduct etc) or the person willingly give their military power back, aka like what ljq did by resigning.
