I have a question, when HY was first woken up in his third life (ep 1), it was mentioned that the Spring would help him recover power. But, throughout the drama, seemed like his power recovered and didn't need the spring. He just spent time cultivating to regain strength/power.

I’m truly grateful for you writing this review. It resonated with me deeply, because it captured exactly how I felt about this drama. I’ve watched countless fantasy, xianxia, and period dramas over the past few decades, but TUS is the only one that left me with such a lasting, thought-provoking aftereffect. Even now, I find myself reflecting on the plot and its deeper meaning, and I’m already planning a rewatch.

As I continued to think about the ending, I came to realize that XY ultimately did not live up to her name. Driven by her longing for HY, she chose to dwell in the past, time-traveling into her memories rather than moving forward. Instead of becoming truly xiaoyao (unbound by desire, regret, and attachment) she remained tethered to them. And perhaps that, in itself, is the quiet tragedy and beauty of the story. It's a HE that they reunite again in their 4th lifetime, but also quite sad.

“Xiaoyao” is not merely freedom of movement; it signifies freedom of the heart,being unbound by attachment, regret, or desire. Ironically, XY does not choose such detachment (and understandably so). Instead, she chooses to time-travel into her past memories to meet HY once more. She does not escape love or longing. In this sense, her name itself becomes ironic: she never truly lives up to the ideal of "xiaoyao". This is again shows how wonderful this drama and the script are.

The data doesn't lie. TUS no. 3 with the worst airing date and length in drama history yet still made it no. 3. Compared to other dramas that had way better airing times and promotion. Goes to show SS has value, and a large mass of passerby watchers. Even hmh's other drama isn't half the viewership of TUS, and that drama got proper promotion. His fans also prioritized his other drama, imagine if the drama wasn't aired same time, TUS would've reached 20million views avg per ep easily

Impressive numbers for TUS, especially considering it faced negative publicity from day one until its final episode (thanks to paid marketing accounts). And yet it still ranked No. 3 on the list!
Just imagine if The Unclouded Soul had been properly marketed and promoted like the other dramas here. Its viewership and overall performance would have gone far beyond the current average per episode.

TUS aired for only 11 days and still achieved this.

I think the drama name in Chinese ,Carefree, if very very fitting to the main theme of the drama, and ultimately the focus. The mirror and Yuling Spring will never be left alone as long as even one person has desire, greed, and want. This is human and demon nature. If everyone let go of these thoughts and desires and be carefree in life, then all these conflicts, war, killing would cease to exist. This also applies to real world right now.

Yes, his character building was the best. And then somwhere down the road idk what happened. It was after meeting pianpian. I mean he finally got his wish, his sister back.

What do you think of the ending, do you think when XY went back to her time and met HY again, was that HY with memories of all 3 lifetime? I watched a video comparing the very beginning and the ending and he definitely looks different. His eyes and expression looks to be concealing something and waiting to see signs of whether it's XY that has all her memories too. He also looked so much more melancholic than usual

I'm hoping she will join in Mid to late feb the latest. Girl, I know work life balance is important, but that's enough break sorta. She had a trip after filming Orchid, it's time to join a drama again. All I know is that the next script is suppose to be fantastic.

I thought by taking 3 weeks haitus to finish this drama, I would be less emotional, but the ending made me tear up that I can't see clearly. I like to believe this is their 4th life time where both have their memories.

Why did HY have to seal himself, he could've just sealed the mirror. I don't think there are anymore powerful demons than him, no one can out win him, so the Yuling Spring would be safe either way

i Just find it a tad weird that Taner is now in Pianpian's body, so BZ will be looking at pianpian's face (the person he has romantic feelings for), but the soul is his sister. Thats some hard truth to overcome

BZ definintely lost his intial purpose in his journey, hence why became the thing he hated, demon. Taner was the thing that grounded him and brought him back to the very core beginning of why he wanted to serve the King, to wake up him.

I plan to rewatch 2nd life, and then watch first life to just find clues and hints of when HY knew XY was NA

I wish she can be straightforward and just tell us, like how LXY's fans already knew which drama he was for sure going next even while filming Orchid

I don't think she will attend WB Night. I think she's going to just prep for her drama after all these events

Update on Ss’s schedule. She will be attending a variety show filming in 1/31 and fans are speculating it’s Mango TV’s Guest Inn. Shenyue and Dylan Wang are members.

Our girl is really active during her break. She’s able to attend events the last couple of months during her break. Let’s hope for new melon and news of her joining a new drama!

Either one sounds better than Hunan Spring Gala. Any Spring Gala that SS is invited is great ofc, but I've always wanted her to attend the big one. Some galas are like idol ones where they just invite a bunch of idol actors/singers to celebrate
