I'm very against conspiracy theories, but when his friends are asking for a change, it indicates that there's…
Do you know what organization coined and popularized the term "conspiracy theory"? I would tell you but... it's a conspiracy theory!!!! It's easy enough to research and find out on your own anyways...
Please give it a rest 💀. You are under every zhang yuxi related comment section with the sane arguments.

... let's see she has 16 dramas, 10 movies, 2 specials, 10 TV shows, plus her own MDL page. That's 39 comments sections. I've seen 3 dramas with her in it. One of them she played a supporting role, and my comment about that drama didn't even mention her at all. So that means I've bitched about her in 2 out of 38 possible comments sections.
So nice try, but you can just step off, fanboi. Come back when you've mastered elementary school level maths and spelling.
Ling He, you're gorgeous and I love you, but you couldn't save this drama.
FL is terse, annoying, and in episode 4 or 5 she finally busts out the "chinese baby girl" routine and it's pretty disgusting. Her hairline behind the ears is crazy and weird. She's supposed to be cross dressing, but the audience can hardly tell who knows and who doesnt know she's a female, because she's wearing magical pink lipstick that apparently the viewers can see, but the characters can't. She's also one of these FL's that compulsively lies about everything to prevent her own sense of embarrassment. "Are you injured?" "No, I'm fine." "What are you thinking about?" "Nothing".
The romantic moments are so contrived, such as: She sprained her ankle doing kung fu on the enemy and needs to be carried.... she goes undercover in a brothel wearing alluring clothing and almost gets sexually assaulted but ML saves her.... Getting stuck in a trap together... etc etc. Nothing organic or original about any of it, and it's unconvincing. There's a hilarious moment in ep 10 where she actually holds her hand up to his nose and says "smell my fingers". I don't think they meant that to be funny the way it was funny. So a pretty atrocious romance storyline. Tell you what though, Ling He sure knows how to film a kiss scene, wew!
The plot is draggy and boring. Parts of it are ripped off from other mysteries, such as the ice-dart that was stolen from The New Sherlock series. I skipped massive chunks of story at a time and missed nothing. Truly it was awful. Not as bad as Sparkle Love, but pretty close. I give it 6/10 for the effort and for Ling He.
Why would you even think that you'll find out about vampires in a history book? Do you think a history book is going to say that anyone "was a vampire"? Bram Stoker based his vampire character on Vlad. He did so because the first vampire fiction short story ever created had a main character that came from Romania. The reason why the earliest authors of vampire fiction chose Romania is because the folk legends of vampires come from that area of eastern europe, and are so strongly believed in over there that even as late as the mid to late 1800's, an army commander in RL was forced to exhume a body to convince the local townspeople that it hadn't turned into a vampire. It didn't help matters that since around 1400, the area of Romania has been fought over between europeans and turks, with unspeakable brutalities and horrors inflicted en masse on civvies during the wars, that gave rise to and perpetuated these beliefs in vampires.... long before vlad, who was Walachian (Romanian), there was Elizabeth of Bathory, a batshit insane Hungarian ruler who, it was rumored at the time and even now, bathed regularly in the blood of innocent Romanian virgins.
The authors who created the first vampire fictions, created them as Romanians because that was the region where the RL folktales about vampires arose. Those folktales were born from and fueled by the psychotic level of bloodshed, brutality, and murders/disappearances that used to happen in the region of Romania constantly and near continuously from the 1400's to the 1800's.
The reason Romania is fought over so viciously is because Romania was the land of the Thracians and Dacians up until about 1000AD, and the Thracians and Dacians were LOADED with gold. They had it coming out their ears. They used to bury it in tombs shaped like hills, somewhat like the Egyptians. So anytime a neighboring ruler started running out of funds, they'd start making designs on taking over Romania to replenish their coffers. Ever since Emperor Trajan of Rome sacked Sarmizegetuza in about 900AD, Romania has been invaded and sacked over and over again, each successive ruler just ransacking their land for gold until the next kingdom came along and took them over. In the process, Romanian people have been terrorized and brutalized in ways you and I could never imagine, and treated with inhumane cruelty. This gave rise to the birth and perpetuation of vampire folklore. This is also why Vlad the Impaler's story lends itself so well to the idea of him being a vampire. When will the world stop associating vampires with Romania? Never, because the origins of vampire folklore begin in Romania.
Very good, but not really a romance. ML and FL are stunningly gorgeous and have mesmerizing acting powers... so it was a real missed opportunity to not have this be a true romance drama, I was disappointed in that.
If you don't prioritize romance in your dramawatching, this is a lovely show. They spared no expense to make the cinematography, aesthetics, costumes and styling, just totally gorgeous and sumptuous. Most of the actors are turning in incredible and sophisticated performances. The plot is sufficiently engrossing.
I just wish the story arc had been taken in a different direction.
Which dramas would you recommend that hits the ball out of the court for you?We all have our own Toppers List…
i saw innocent man, WHIB, and Secret from those.... WHIB lol, I often recc that to other people, but it's such a cruel recc to give someone, lolll. I feel like everybody should watch the classics, no matter how painful it might be. Secret was awesome, i would have ranked it higher if it hadn't petered out toward the end. But the makjang was soooo makjang it was epic entertainment.
Cdramas and sound production issues. Name a more iconic duo. Nonetheless, this drama has some truly exquisite…
One of the things that just gets me is how in c-dramas they use the fake "footsteps" noises all the time, and they love adding fake sounds of boiling or dripping water to scenes, it's so distracting, aiyaa.

Right on <3 If you like "healthy mature" relationships, you might also like Fake It Till You Make It... the only truly maturely portrayed romance I've ever given a really high score to. I liked it a lot.
Cruel City, you ranked that one pretty high, I keep meaning to watch it but haven't been in the right mood for it yet.

I couldn't hang through it, had to drop it at about the halfway mark. "Mature supportive relationship" usually isn't my thing. I like dramas with relationships that are dark, obsessive, twisted, toxic, taboo, overbearing, etc. Not always, obviously... as long as there's good chemistry there between the ML and FL, I can put aside my preferences. But "onscreen chemistry" kinda means they look like they are actually attracted to eachother. Dilraba often to me looks like someone who doesn't want to offend a RL boyfriend by getting too into her roles. Something about her is slightly icy... just imo. Idk anything about her personal life at all, to me that's just the vibe she puts off in most of the things I've seen her in. Except ELOD.
I like crazy crap, like The Rose, I Love My President Though He Is a Psycho, That Winter the Wind Blows, Well Intended Love, Meteor Garden (taiwanese).
I liked Hidden Love even though it was "sweet" and "healthy" because the ML/FL chemistry was FIRE, and it was at least a LITTLE bit twisted. Same with My Fated Boy. It's sweet, but it's also fiery and a little bit twisted.
I mean I dropped Love You Forever at ep19 because I found out the toxic red flag demon won't get the girl in that one. Here's a love triangle with a perfectly healthy devoted ML, and a red-flag demonic bloodsucker ML.... and I'm over here like "girrrrrrrrl!!! go for the scary bloodsucker, what are you thinking !!!!!"

I'll only watch it if the demon guy gets the girl.
I went in knowing that he wouldn't get the girl, and yet by ep19 I was like "Y'know what...no. Just no." It started to just feel wrong to watch it all play out. First time I've ever had 2ML syndrome so bad I actually dropped a show over it. They'd be fools to go ahead and make season 2 without letting him be ML and not listening to our input. I havent seen anyone on the LYF MDL page that actually roots for face bandage guy. He's hot too, no doubt but demon guy is hotter by a mile and a half.

Pick up a history book.
