ahhhhh gawd. okay. confusing storyline, and no romance til the last fourth of the drama.... idk if I'm going to press on or not. Might put it on hold. The only slow burn c-romance I've ever really loved was ELOD.
I'm not big into political shows or palace intrigue. I'm just in it for the romance part. I'm not sure I want to slog through this.
But I tell you what. The Long Ballad was wayyy too long and tedious, and the ML/FL storyline held zero interest for me and their chemistry was about as good as the chemistry going on in a sack of rotting potatoes.... but those last few episodes with 2ML/2FL were worth watching that whole tiresome show for. Hao Du rocks my world.
So I guess if the romance is actually worth it in the end I could press on. Am now starting episode 1 of Back From the Brink while I debate if I should put this one on hold or not.
I am really really confused.... I'm on episode 3. The first few episodes of any drama are such a chore to slog through, so I did some skipping on ep 1 and 2 and didn't try too hard to follow all the names and characters and stuff like that. Now I'm pretty well immersed and into the show at episode 3... but I'm having a really hard time following the story....
So my question is..... she's having these grayish faded flashes of memory. And I can't figure out if she's seeing the past.... OR if she's seeing the future, as it happened in the other timeline. Like.... is she looking into the past, or into probable futures that could occur from the now-point on her current timeline?
Because it said "four years ago" on one of em and IDK what the heck is going on at all, aigoo.
This is instantly in my top 5 favorite asian dramas ever. I plan on rewatching it about 100 times. I am a hard grader, but I'm giving this a 9.5 for just totally kicking ass and being super sweet and super HOT.
Is there any other country on earth that expects the level of saintly perfection from its actors as Korea?
And the hypocrisy when it comes to substance abuse is mind boggling. Here, go ahead and drink till you die. Pickle your liver, puke on your date, black out like it aint no thang, and sleep it off on the sidewalk. Stumble home and pass out on your parents. Don't worry! They will make you a nice hot bowl of hangover soup, awww. Portraying characters drinking enough to induce death by alcohol poisoning in RL if some impressionable person were to actually attempt it.
But by god, if you take a toke off a J or blow a .08 at a traffic stop.... may god have mercy on your soul because Korea won't.
The plot sounds promising right? But this is not really a romance. It's an unfocused mix of police procedural, mystery, and sentimental family drama. The setting is mainly in a hospice, where people go to be cared for before they die of terminal illness.
There is no k-drama on earth that won't capitalize on the theme of death generate "profound" dialogue and sentimental tearjerker moments, and this show is no exception. Since it takes place in a hospice and is about a terminally ill FL, of course this aspect of the plot is emotionally exploited to the max. And it gets very tiresome and tedious, very quickly. There is no reprive from it.
That makes this drama depressing. Incredibly depressing. It also drags badly. It's so so boring.
There are a few rare, fleeting moments of chemistry between the ML and FL, but barely. For the mostpart, their entire "romance" is held together by pain and sadness. There aren't kiss scenes worth a damn, and no skinship. So since I'm interested primarily in good romance dramas, this was a serious letdown of a drama.
the age gap was yuck for me especially wen they show me a child too :(i was really excited for this..
Yeah such a bummer when the synopsis accurately tells you what the show is going to be about, but you start watching it anyways and then can't handle it so you come in the comments section to trash it based on the plot it told you it had in the first place.
o noes, an unrequitted adolescent crush! o noes, a 5 year age gap between two legally consenting adults! so nasty!
Please don't exaggerate. Even if there is a lawsuit, at worst, the show will either scrap that scene or blur the…
"Someone here is extremely naive."
Once again proving that you aren't a part of the art community. When an artist uses another's work without crediting it, that's always considered stealing, no matter who does it or how often it takes place. You would know this if you were a professional artist, but you're not so you're just bloviating because you can't stand being told you're wrong. And yeah, she would have a good case if she wanted to sue. That's why she got an apology from them at all.

They aren't artists, they don't know how much of a no-no it is to not credit someone's work. It the art world, this is a BIG HUGE NO-NO, whether it be music, photography, painting, fashion design, or whatever else.
Making a name for yourself when you're an artist is how you make money. Your name recognition is extremely important. When someone thinks your work is good enough to use creatively for themselves, or good enough to circulate, they HAVE to credit you. Otherwise it's tantamount to stealing, and everyone in the art world knows this. But regular people don't always understand how big of a deal it really is because they don't have any exposure to the industry.

Sometimes a person's life is so empty that feeling morally superior to others is the only way they can find a sense of self worth. In the words of Vera Donovan from 'Dolores Claiborne': "Sometimes being a bitch is all a woman has to hang on to."
The funny thing is, of all the dramas to negatively fixate on, why this one? There are dramas that portray ACTUAL underage romances. This one clearly doesn't. She was crushing on him, he was oblivious to it. He treated her and viewed her as his buddy's sister until she was what, 19?
Teen girls crush on older guys all the time. If they didn't, boy-bands wouldn't be a thing.
Shocking and so disappointing that such a beautiful story and a loving + affectionate ML character is taken out…
Labelled as pedophilia by ONE user up in here for days on end REEEEing and having a shitfit over it, junking up the comments section. But you can find that in the comments section of just about any drama that touches on taboo subjects. Age gap, cheating, pseudo-incest, toxic love... there's always some smug ideological zealot in the comments that has no life and needs the attention, be it a 3rd-wave feminist, religious fundamentalist, or just a bitter old wine-guzzling bitch with four cats that's been cheated on in RL and gets triggered.
Spatina's on a rampage over this show, which is funny, because they dropped so early they don't even know the whole storyline, and therefore don't know how stupid they look.

Wanna try that again, smarty?
