I tried to watch this all the way through, but I'm dropping at episode 11. It's too goofy and disjointed, and the FL's chinese-baby routine is too much for me.
SO MUCH KILIG Decent spice levels 100% non-annoying FL Hot sweet ML ML/FL chemistry is SO FIRE Fully developed and satisfying ending ML/FL are together by the halfway point, and no breakups Styling and fashion is not tragic Soundtrack/OST is very solid, never intrusive Hilarity and adorableness scattered all through the drama No melo, no extreme villainy Lots of skinship but not too much that you'd overdose on it A HOTTTT kiss in the final episode (there are other kiss scenes, but the last one is fire)
I'm a hard grader, I give it a 9 because it packs so much kilig and spice into such a sweet fluffy package and nothing about it sucks. Sure it's fluff, but it's some seriously sexy fluff.

Idk, I suppose I'd go through and look at their summary pages om MDL and see which one looks like the most fun to you. They're all pretty different from eachother.
The plot centers around waiting for a mentally slow, rigid, lowwww EQ FL to figure out how to marry for love and not practicalities. So you spend most of the drama watching the FL say dumb things and make stupid choices. Right off the bat, this isn't an intelligent plot. It's a "misunderstandings" driven script (and that includes the side-stories). So there's that.
There are also anorexia triggers all through this drama... FL is very thin, and has very little perception of control over her life. This is why she's rigid with people around her, she feels like she has no control. Whenever she's emotionally upset, she holds it all in, doubles down on trying to be perfect, and just stops eating. Not eating is her only outlet of expression for several emotions. On top of this, her parents are aware of this behavior of hers, and so try not to upset her or push her too much because they're afraid if she gets too upset, her not eating will become more serious. But the show never once mentions eating disorders. So there's that also.
Then there's the fact that - and I don't mean any offense by it - FL from some angles when she's making "pouty" faces or "astounded" faces.... really bears a striking resemblance to someone with Down's Syndrome. I try not to see it, but it's there and it kind of kills the mood of the show.
OST/music was hit-or-miss. Side couples stories were hit-or-miss.
The show starts off fiery and spicy, and then about a third of the way through, the ML and FL break up and that lasts most of the rest of the show. The middle of the drama drags SOO BAD I cannot even express. You can skip whole episodes and not miss anything. BUT... there's some episodes toward the very end that are so good they're almost worth the payoff, because they are cleverly written and unique.
The ML is too good an actor for this drama. He made everything around him look cheap by comparison, his acting is just of a higher caliber than the rest of the cast and it's often painfully obvious. He's one of the only worthwhile things about this show.
Hard to rate this one, but imma go with a 7. It was sort of worth the watch, but had some pretty hard-to-overlook issues.

Salty!
My point about those dramas is that they're wildly popular, and yet you purport to say you know what "most women" think, when sometimes you have personal tastes and opinions that run counter to what "most women" - as judged in terms of objective popularity - actually think. You tried to indirectly belittle women who don't share your opinion. I called you out on it because that's rude.
As for the muslim countries... you'd notice, if your reading comprehension was passable, and if you could see past all your salty tears, that I said "some muslim countries". You know what the word "some" means in that context, right?
So you strawmanned me twice in a row in order to create fuel for your ideological temper tantrum. I would elaborate further, were it not for the fact that I don't waste undue time on intellectually dishonest people.

Someone who gave ELOD, TTEOM, and Goblin less than 3 stars wants to tell me what "most women think". I have respect for the fact that everyone has their own opinion. But you aren't the ambassador of all womankind here. What's wrong with just stating your opinion and leaving it at that?... if you wanted to drag mass-consensus into the conversation, then you'd have to go by score, feedback, and awards. In which case your feeling that "most adult women... see it for what it is" is a subjective statement, not a factual assertion.
You said you "don't care about artistic merit".... and then asked what artistic merit... if you don't care about artistic merit, then why are you asking about it? No wonder you didn't see any, you were unable to watch the show through that lens because your sense of moral repugnance prevented you from appreciating it.
As far as grooming goes.... within the story itself this isn't happening because she's the one with the one-sided crush in her youth. In the story he doesn't start to view her as desirable until the first-snow scene, which is when she's old enough for it not to be morally reprehensible. And as for the idea of the story itself being subtle grooming, just because it perpetuates the "chinese baby" stereotype, I'm wondering if you can even call it grooming when you're talking about a cultural norm. Not only that but chinese culture, while it does foster this kind of "helpless childish female" caricature, isn't an actual pedophilic culture the way some muslim cultures are where they'll actually marry ten year olds in RL. So how much does this stereotype contribute to RL grooming when there's no resultant normalization of pedophilic relationships in their culture to show for it? There's not a whole lot of 14yo chinese brides these days, afaik.
So I can respect that you didn't like the drama, but I'd just take issue with the fact that you've framed your statements in such a way that imply you have a greater grasp on objectivity than others who did like it.
😄😄😄👏👏👏-Angry, watched it coz too stubborn to drop it- 😄👍
The way they look at eachother makes me think they are/were offscreen dating. The same way Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart used to look at eachother when they were promoting the first and second Twilight movies. They just look totally gaga for eachother.
😄😄😄👏👏👏-Angry, watched it coz too stubborn to drop it- 😄👍
There were a few others, but only the hallway kiss was truly fiery, imo. And it was a GOOD one. A little too short, but very spicy. Kind of reminded me of the incredible Eric Mun kiss from Que Sera Sera, with the whole Wallace Chung vibe goin on.
Meh, it was okay. The sexy parts are sexy purely because they're racy, however there's no kilig and the attractions the couples have for eachother lack depth. Good for a few cheap thrills and that's about it.

ughhh tell me about it with Esther, i just can't.
But yeah, that's how I felt about Love Is Sweet, I was like if it wasn't for you two, I would have dropped this pile of crap drama at ep 3. And what did I get out of it? ONE pretty spicy kiss scene. That's it.

I try not to ever drop unless I'm being tortured beyond my ability to withstand, so I watched the whole dang thing too like ughhhhhh when does it END lord help me. Did you see Hidden Love yet? Damn, that one was good.
