omgggg I just finished Extremely Perilous Love and he is so hot and such a good actor, he's like the chinese answer to LSH, and I'd watch him in anything.

Yeah I was wondering how many times does the ML need to be stabbed 😅
lol, it is pretty stabby as far as dramas go.

I held out there but lost it when she cut it off 🙈 I was like WTH? Gross 😱
Rather unceremoniously too, and then she just tosses it at him like *splat*, here ya go.

Wooooo I loved it! I gave it an 8.5 and I'm a bit of a hard grader, I don't give out 10's like candy. It's not as completely fantastic as some other dramas I've watched, but you gotta give it some leeway for the fact that it's very very short mini-episodes. So keeping that in mind... the plot is a little bit simplistic, and the pacing is a little bit too fast. That's the downside.

Other than that, we are talking gorgeous settings and aesthetic, a soundtrack/ost that works with the show and not against it, excellent cast, beautiful FL that is a really not-bad actress, a completely hypnotic handsome ML who is a fantastic actor, an entertaining plot, HOT kiss scenes that weren't overly explicit at all, tastefully done.... and the kilig and spice level was PERFECT. The ML/FL chemistry is WOOHHH
*(fans self)*. Their relationship goes from sexy to kilig to hot to ultra-hot, with a sweet n' spicy ending, in the proper order.

I LOVED that it's kind of borderline vampy too. There's a plot development at the end that makes it definitively NOT a vampire drama. But you could call it vampire-adjacent. This show is just so dang cool... despite the somewhat simplistic plot, this will go on my rewatch list for sure.

There's lots of people giving this less-than 7 ratings, but imo, what more do you want from a show that's told in 10-minute doses? Friggin gone with the wind?

The highlight of this drama is the gorgeous ML who can act, and the beautiful sets and costumes, and the fact that they completely nailed the exact right levels of sweet, spicy, and firey. Which is so rare. Just be advised that even though the chemistry is off the charts, there really isn't any true angst element to it all. So if you're looking for like a "The Smile Has Left Your Eyes" type of romance, this aint it.

We're on strike. I made an exception for Born Again, but I also am not watching anything LSH is in anymore until…
>But I don't think skipping "old" dramas like Born Again is gonna do anything...

Sure, it's just the principle of the thing is all. And obviously those of us who have the same mindset about LSH just find it personally difficult to keep watching him do 2ML repeatedly. So it's a feelings-driven sort of a thing, not entirely logical or rational. :P Like if I can't hack watching another LSH 2ML drama... it's not because I think it will DO anything, it's just because it's too personally aggravating to relax and enjoy the dramas anymore. As you can see from the comments just on this 'old' drama by other people too. They just find it too hard to watch.

But... I do hope the way we feel starts to be acknowledged. And it seems to be, because he just got his first 1ML part. Hopefully the first of many. <3

I'm not one to rag on an actress just because she's thin. People come in all different sizes. But I have a professional background working with people who suffer from eating disorders, and I can't ignore it when I see it.

Take for example Ireine Song. She is probably HALF the size of Zheng Shuang, but it's clearly a healthy weight for her, so what do I care. I think she's cute as a button, and I like watching her acting. I do not like seeing young ladies with eating disorders or unhealthy weights being cast as FL's. For one because it only makes their health issues worse to be acting, working, and dealing with fame in that condition. And second, because it glorifies body dysmorphia and eating disorders.

Now maybe she doesn't have an eating disorder. But I suspect she does, and whatever it is, even if it's not an eating disorder, she is clearly not healthy, and was in no shape to work at the time this was filmed. Which was obvious not only by her weight, but by the fact that she can't give her characters strong emotions or sexual dimension... which is what happens when you are malnourished and your brain isn't getting the proper nutrients. When you're that unhealthily thin, one of the first things to go is your sex drive, and the brain fog makes it hard to think clearly.

Title Born Again
if u guys are not gonna watch dramas bcs ur fav is not ml then u gotta miss a lot of good dramas..I like jang…
We're on strike. I made an exception for Born Again, but I also am not watching anything LSH is in anymore until they finally start treating him like the 1ML that he is. I'm excited for S-Line, I hope it's good. It's just too hard to watch him done wrong all the time. He's been the 2ML one too many times, and we're sick of it. Fortunately, somebody upstairs seems to be paying attention and has finally started getting the message.

For Born Again, I thought JKY was a really awesome ML, and perfectly cast for his role. His acting was fantastic. It's just that they shouldn't have picked LSH as the 2ML is all. If they had done this drama with a different 2ML it would have gotten better reception.

Time to stop casting LSH as 2ML/Villain. It aint gonna fly with us anymore.

Excellent chemistry between the leads. ML is sufficiently toxic for my tastes. But that plot... just wow, and not in a good way. Ending not cool as well. I gave it a 7.

if your goanna hate a actor keep it to yourself or dont watch the drama
Why can't we say who we don't like? This entire site is based on reviews. If you can't say what your opinions are, how can you leave honest reviews? Sometimes people don't like certain actors or shows. How does one person's opinion of someone or something threaten you? We all know everyone's opinion is just one opinion and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that Song Siyi is creepy? He’s deliberately ignoring being turned down…
Normally the 2ML is there to kind of give the audience a little bit of 2ML syndrome. In this one from the very start I'm like "Get outta here, 2ML!!! Don't you know where you're not wanted!?!" and that was kind of a fun change of pace from the usual.

It was also funny how - in a departure from the usual dramas - he actually full-on c*ck-blocks the ML several times to the point where I'm yelling at the screen "Oh, you complete son of a B*TCH!" He was a little weasel.

I just love me some "problematic" ML, so of course I wanted to watch this after seeing the comments and reviews. But considering the warnings, I actually didn't find him problematic enough. He's really only overbearing and possessive, but doesn't cross over into truly toxic. I mean it's not like he lied and told his GF she has 6 months to live or anything.

So many great things about this drama. Normally, modern-setting c-dramas have the most tragic sense of style, and this one is not bad. The aesthetic is allright. The clothes/hairstyles/settings are kind of cute and kind of cool... considering they're chinese. The casting is awesome. Everyone has something about them that is cute/beautiful/attractive, and their acting is really good. The humor is actually funny (something pretty rare for a c-drama), and it's just the right amount of humor. The pacing is good, and the progression of the story arc is good. The soundtrack/ost/dubbing is really good too.

The best part of this drama is the kilig moments. Most dramas suffer from a distinct lack of kilig, and this one is completely FULL of it! Theres one awesome spicy kiss scene in the back half of the drama that's pretty satisfying. There is just one problem.... all these kilig moments and the progression of the story kind of all build up to this one scene where they get stuck in a hotel during a typhoon. That's supposed to be like THE scene... the scene where they actually get together, if you know what I mean. And they just totally wrecked it by not letting it be spicy or racy at all. There's not even a kiss in that scene! It wouldn't matter, really, if it weren't for the fact that the whole show and the ML/FL chemistry is *leading up* to this scene! So there should be something fun there for the audience, even if it's just a nice steamy kiss or some superhot dialogue or SOMEthing. But it's pretty much a letdown. If they had just let that scene be what it was meant to be and let it get a weeee bit racy.... it could have made such a good drama. I'm not expecting A Frozen Flower or anything. But I mean come ON, there was nothing there. ML/FL had really good chemistry, and they didn't do enough with it.

I gave it a 7.5 because there was a lot to like about this show, but it was slightly marred by the sterile way they handled what should have been some very sexy moments in the final episodes.

This was a really well done drama. OST/soundtrack was completely on point, just impeccable. Story was interesting. Kiss scenes were spicy, although few and far between. FL gave a really amazing performance. She stands out to me as a capable and talented actress. Really well-matched with the ML.

There were a few issues I had with it. One, the pacing is pretty slow. Not as bad as some dramas I've seen, but just not really great... sometimes the dialogue gets a little repetitive, sometimes they fluff the episode with flashbacks. Two, the motivations of the characters are a little bit contrived. Three, the main plot drivers are misunderstanding and amnesia, ughhhh. Four, I cannot stand looking at 2FL's face because she's had a disconcerting amount of plastic surgery, and she has quite a bit of face-time in this show. Five, the ending was a bit of a cop-out.

Other than that, it was really good, I'd say definitely above average. I gave it a 7.5
