there's no use in arguing with people so proud they take offense over minor perceived slights and invent the intentions of people they don't know to strawman them. The aggro runs deep when out of everything to take offense to in this world, it's something as minor as this. When we all enjoy the show and the actors, this is eating your own. There's no reason for it at all. Peace be with you.

well that's the only part of this drama i'd leave out. Even the ML doesn't like them. it doesn't enhance the show to suddenly evoke that image or remind someone of that smell imo. K-dramas do something similar by always telling poop jokes in romances. I don't know why they do this.

Then you're one of the one-in-four or one-in-five who like it. Why take offense. I like ramen with mayonnaise on it, but i'm not gonna glaze it in a show that's clearly going to be international. If someone else doesn't like it, what's that got to do with me? I don't even know you, it's obvs not personal. I like liver too, but most people find it disgusting, and that's just a fact. I meet people all the time who like liver or who like intestines, but there's way way more people out there who have a visceral reaction of disgust to it. Why would I feature it in a romance drama.

My only extremely minor gripe about it is like dude. stop trying to sell me on pork intestines. it's a revolting food to most people, doesn't matter how sexy you try to make it look. enough with the closeup shots of it.

i'm withholding final judgement until we see how the last 10 eps play out... pearl girl, speed and love, when destiny brings the demon and a journey to love started out good too, and then they capsized at the 2/3 mark. I freakin hope like crazy this is a satisfying story all the way through. But so far i'm 10/10 on it.

when the fresh eps come in the morning when i wake up, i can't resist although i should. This is 1000% binge quality material. I'm ruining it for myself, I hate it when I do this, but it always happens when there's literally nothing else good to watch. I know i know there's a yu ning and an arthur chen drama out right now, but that modern stuff isn't really my vibe, and arthur is OKAY, and yu ning has burned me too many times before so i'm no longer excited to watch his stuff.

i'm just addicted to xie wei energy, and finally ling he has taken another BADASS ML role, I"m so excited. Every morning now is like christmas, I can't hardly sleep and I can't wait to jump out of bed in the morning.

Deng Kai has a lot of charisma, and he's a good actor, but he needs to level up and he will be brilliant. I've been keeping an eye on him. He hasn't been to the level of acting I'd like to see him at, but he's been working hard, practicing, and I really hope this director brings out the best in him. He's worth the extra effort to support him so he can succeed, because all the ingredients are there. I hope he slays in this.

Crazy how those faces are nothing alike, but in those snow scenes I really did a few double takes over the resemblance. The power of makeup I guess.

NOT HER FAULT OMG she is so cute and easy to watch, her action sequences and swordfighting look GOOD! No no no, this is a problem with script and direction.

I am on ep 11, and i like the vibe but I am so freaking confused rn. idk what would have fixed it, maybe more character development. SoKP, RotP, Legend of Shenli, The Long Ballad, were all really complex and yet much easier to follow.

This is such a good point, and to me makes it really unfair how short lengths get rated down so low just in general, it's like if you have 200 dollars and 10 hours to make a dinner, of course it's going to be better than if you only have 20 bucks and one hour.

But some dramas make a helluva 20 dollar one hour dinner. That's it's own skill and it's own kind of brilliance. Sometimes it makes me feel misanthropic that genpop can't recognize a high budget piece of sh$t when they see one, or a lo-budget feat of greatness.

Another thing you are right about is that Laurie Mccurry is an idiot. I guess it's not reasonable to expect someone with a completely cringemaxxed pfp to have a discerning opinion.

tyvm glad you thought so. I often have the unpopular opinion about shows, but it's nice to see so many cheese affectionados in one place this time. We loved it! This director Chen is really something special, can't wait for his next project.
