- he told her he’s leaving (but he told her from the beginning) - she said sign the divorce paper so of course…
exactly, who is tending to the pigs. And the sister hellooo. He knows very well she can't just say "okay". Maybe they could have talked it out later, but time ran out. His bois were all outside of town literally sitting there waiting on him like "lets goooo", and he probably didnt fight too hard on it because he knew when he said it it wasn't something he thought out or consulted with her ahead of time about. He hadn't thought it through,
BUT I MEAN he really REALLY hadn't thought it through!!!!!! Because at this point he knows someone is after HIS WOMAN, and he really thinks she's safer at home like a sitting duck!?!??!?!?! HA!

SHE SHOULDA GONE WITH HIM. I said that so many times over the course of the last ep to the screen, "you shoulda gone with him".
this is how I see it. Maybe I'm wrong, but this is how I see it. He told her earlier to "dream big" about a reward, and she just kept asking for more and more pigs. Her horizons for herself are so limited, and her self esteem has taken some hits. He says "come with me" and to her that's a stupid thing to say. She is a package deal, she comes with a kid and some pigs and an aunt and uncle and a house deed and a restaurant. What is he even talking about? Come with him? What?
Well just before that he'd said some mean sh*t. So did she, but he was more vicious than her because his feelings are stronger than hers and he lashed out unthinkingly. Well it is a scientific fact that females experience every emotion for approximately three times as long as men. So he said hurtful stuff, she said hurtful stuff, and he's forgotten about it, but she hasn't. So her pride, and just confusion, takes over, and she storms off in a huff.
He hasn't packed his stuff up, she thinks he's coming back to the house to at least get it. So maybe she thinks she has time to think it over, and more time to talk it out.
After he leaves, the conscription happens, and uncle is taken away. Then after that, QianQian decides to leave. This is all putting pressure on her to do something outside her comfort zone and grow and evolve. She doesn't want to. She likes her pig farm. She likes her life. But bit by bit, her safe zone is being ripped away from her, and soon this will make her very fekkin pissed off. And the knives will come out.
She just doesn't want to go. She will have to be forced by fate to leave her comfort zone behind and follow her heart. What we see now is resistance and reluctance to change.
I just got this feeling that Deng Kai threw his entire heart and soul into this role and he's gonna leave me **devastated**. ughhhhhhh I can feel my heart getting flattened already. he deserves the best role of his career, I'm so happy for him right now.
This legit might be the best Chinese Drama I've ever watched. Please don't let me down in the second half. Keep…
I have a friend i just recc'd this show to. I texted "This is in the top 3 best c-dramas ever, hands down" but then I delet.... because there's still time to mess some stuff up. I HOPE THEY DONT. and if they don't mess anything up, then I'll just have to figure out how to give this 11/10. Because jesus. I am on my 3rd rewatch, doing ep 1 again. Everything is so beautiful. All the classic elements are there. There is the tiniest hint of cheese, just the barest touch. It has that thread of dark running through it I can't live without. It's obsessive, sweet, aaaaaaaaaahhahhahghhgh how come it's SO FRIGGIN GOOD?!?! The cast is perfect, the pacing is perfect, everybody's hair and makeup are perfect. It's so magical.
I was upset that he did that because it violates the 'Unspoken Rules for Happy Ending' for a character. I hope…
yeah but then Xie was like 'if you want to prove i can trust you, i want 200000 picrels of grain' and he never said anything in response to that, and then later they don't show how exactly the grain got back to the people. so I thought what if somehow Qi Min was involved in getting it back to them to forge an alliance with Xie.
ZLH looks great in armor, but I have to say it -- for this role, he looks too young and pretty when on horseback.…
just will all due respect, I don't mean this in a snarky way but... mistaken my a**! He doesn't look angelic, he looks VAMPY and it's HOTTTTTTTTT!!! wew LAWD!!
for me, if it's xie zheng really really mad, then xie zheng wins out. But otherwise, Qi Min wins out. If he stared at me the way he stared at QianQian in the restaurant, I would have been hypnotized instantly like take me home with you NAO. Grab the kid and drag me off, lets go.
the kiss in ep 17 is ✨✨✨✨a thing i don't understand - xie zheng asks changyu to come with him and she…
SHE SHOULDA GONE WITH HIM
Here's how I was reading that: She's a butchers daughter. Earlier he asks her to "dream big" and all she can concieve of is "more pigs". Her horizons for herself are so small-scale. She doesn't have any confidence in herself and can you blame her.
So first her man leaves, then the war comes and takes everyone away, then QingQing leaves.... all this is building pressure on her. Like what will it take to get her to leave the known, and to leave her safe-zone? Slowly her safe-zone is being taken away from her, and it will at some point drive her to act. She is in the first stages of grief for a life that was suddenly ripped away from her: denial. Soon she will hit rage, and then it's go time.
BUT I MEAN he really REALLY hadn't thought it through!!!!!! Because at this point he knows someone is after HIS WOMAN, and he really thinks she's safer at home like a sitting duck!?!??!?!?! HA!
