I have no problem with the separation itself. I have had enough of them eyeballing each other longingly - I don't…
what irritates me are the plot holes that haven't been addressed by the drama. The one I just can't get over is that after their happy home was raided twice by black ninja types, Xie Zheng finds out that their target wasn't him as he assumed, but her. And they whisk the story off from that so fast. But he's supposed to know that there's killers after her family from that original point onward, and yet he leaves them and acts as if they'll be fine.
He should have taken a lesson from Qi Min and just kidnapped her and lil sis.
"I want a divorce"
"That's nice" (throws her over his shoulder)
Then there's the one about why he didn't reveal himself to her with the mask. And why half the dam workers had to stay behind to get slaughtered. Why the falcon has super bloodhound powers. Why lil sis' asthma hasn't kicked in under all this stress.
Of course he will, this is a c-drama THERE ARE RULES lolXia Jing Yan got a redemption arc, and Qi Min won't tho....…
I think they made him so evil that only a visceral end for him would satisfy the audience. I guess it could be poison if he spits up a LOT of blood. People will want to SEE him pay. I think it'd be like arrow to the heart, shanked in a close embrace, falling on a sword during an attempted attack, something with a decent amt of blood.
Qi Min killing servants left and right without any regard for human life reminds me of Xia Jing Yan in Fated Hearts.…
Of course he will, this is a c-drama THERE ARE RULES lol
Xia Jing Yan got a redemption arc, and Qi Min won't tho.... he's messed with his own kid, something Jing Yan didn't do. Qian Qian will never fall in love with him and he won't be "misunderstood", he's just gonna get shanked by somebody, the only question is who. Possibilities: Qian Qian, his own son, his brother, Xie Zheng, Chang Yu.
Strongest possibility is QianQian, but I don't think she should have to do something so icky like become a murderer over that loser. Let someone else do the dirty work. Maybe she can chase him off a cliff but only for real tho, where he actually goes THUD.
The things Jing Yan did were so bad that he had to sacrifice his life in exchange for his redemption. Qi Min can't pay his debts even with that.
aiyaaa... listen if you haven't watched a lot of c dramas, then welcome, first off. But lemmetellyasomethin. FOR THIS GENRE, that scene was over the top, and you would be hard-pressed to find anything like it in another c-drama where it is THIS explicit, and involving manipulation and duress, and with an irredeemable villain. There are certain standards c-dramas have, it's just the way it is. And within each genre. like wuxia, xianxia, historical romance, ceo romance, short-length historical romace, short-length republican era romance, mystery, comedy, etc etc, there are these unwritten but obvious rules for things.
Irredeemable villains don't get super sexy bathtub scenes. This was over the top, as in I challenge anyone to find something equivalent in a feature length a-list historical romance c-drama. Or indeed any c-drama. It can't be done. Because this kind of thing is never done.
I am in love with this drama 😍😍 everything is literally perfect 🤩 I hop it continues this way. I don't…
you can't jinx it, it's already in the can. we shall see if last half holds up. this is where we usually get burned by our dramas. I remain skeptical, but honestly I will put up with a LOT just to get a good angry Ling He and a fierce kiss-like-you-mean-it kiss.
Yes for me also not over the top. I would have to type my fingers into full on carpal tunnel to get you to understand what i'm saying, right?
You tell me of other A) full length B) A-lister director C) big productions, where two people are not in love and doing toxic things to eachother emotionally, one or both of them are morally irredeemable, and are in an intimate scene together where it's portrayed as this racy, with explicit shirt-off scenes.
I'm not saying it's over the top by MY standards. I'm saying it's over the top by OBJECTIVE standards of c-dramas that have come before it.
This maybe closer to The Double, but even that is only almost 40k
I thought it was meh, but with nice palace intrigue plot and great production value. Some people totally in love with that ML, so generated a lot of attention.
he is beyond redemption in my opinion and really hope screenwriters won't change his story too much
I don't want them to redeem him at this point, as much as i love the visuals and chemistry and acting. The things he did are now beyond forgiveness, because he's passed SO MUCH trauma onto his child in such a short span of time.
Are people romanticising it? I want to believe they find the way it was filmed hot but not the story of the characters…
Call out users by name, or else none of this makes any sense. Youre lumping everyone together like the whole group is just one person with one set of standards and one set of thoughts.
Oh my godd. Exactly i missed that one. Why was xz criticised for the forced kiss. It was a hot scene but instead…
You can't call a group this sized hypocritical or double standard, because it's a huge group consisting of tons of different people with different opinions and reactions. It's not like the group is a single entity.
And when I say 'you can't', I mean you CAN obvs, but it doesn't make any sense.

Too busy?
> does not have 90 seconds to update list abt it.
sounds good to me
