Its obvious ML's plan is to take them down, and her scheming is srsly just going to jeopardize his plans. She's going to do something dumb and risky, and she will have to be saved at the last minute by ML. He keeps saying "trust me" and she just won't. She's unable to listen to her heart long enough to realize he's not a bad person and would never hurt her. She can't see that in any situation involving their business, she's the least smart person in the room. Every character knows she's trying to play them. Even the ML knows she's trying to take her revenge into her own hands instead of letting the competent man who loves her to death do it for her. That's why he's trying to move her away to the UK, to get her so far away she can't get herself in any more hot water than she already is in.

So they gonna do "strong clever FL" who botches everything and has to be rescued by her man all the time. And as usual the entire plot will balance on a situation which could simply have been solved by more honest and trusting communication between the leads, which is so tired and tropey.

She's too blinded by low EQ and ragemaxxing to realize he is equally a victim of the same people who victimized her, and he doesn't deserve her hate because he's literally the only one protecting her from being killed by the REAL bad guys.

don't even get me started too late you got me started the ML's stylist is fine, they're great, I love them. But whoever did the females on this show needs to be fired immediately.... they've bought into every stupid current year female fashion trend and executed the final result badly... the stickin out ears, the high crown, the baby lipgloss, french manicure dragon-lady nails, silkworm eye bags. News flash, giving a high crown to that 2fl's hair is NOT going to make her look "babyish", just LOOK AT HER FACE she has the kind of beauty that is carved on the bow of a warship, so you should dress her and style her as such, and not just try and plaster every person you see with The Current Thing. It looks so freaking stupid. And then they made her hair oily and stringy in some shots, and it looks hideous. It's just not having a good handle on your products and how to apply them. No sense of aesthetics or style.

Thank god the ML escaped this treatment, he looks great. A little cheesy, but I actually think stuff like a big burgundy fake leather jacket with a white unlined inside, makes it look more gritty and oldschool and real. Respecting his roots.

Hate for the FL because she is playing with a man's heart... men aren't allowed to develop or show their heart in a man's world (which is def where he lives, in a man's world), and they are tortured, ptsd'd, exploited as a matter of course in their lives, they don't have any softness/purity/gentleness/mercy/love in their lives at all, unless they have a woman. If they do find a woman who not only will have them, but who they can trust, that is their only source of comfort in life at all. That makes what she's doing highly cruel... something a woman might not really fully understand because they don't understand the world the man lives in.

But she has lied her way into a position where she is his only loveline in his ENTIRE life, and if she follows through on her bullshit, she will emotionally k*ll him and destroy him to the point that he might never recover. What she is attempting to do is an affront to god, and she's pretending she can hide behind "doing the right thing" to keep from having to take any spiritual responsibility as a victimizer of a lost and lonely and tortured soul, who she encouraged to open up to her and to trust her.

Doing this to any man is a dangerous thing to do, you should never toy with a man's heart, or you could face serious consequences. Men are to be taken seriously. Not treated like objects or pets or toys. They are to be given a basic amount of respect, if only because they have more power.

To try to toy with THIS man is even more dangerous, because he is like an untamed tiger. She is courting danger she doesn't even understand. She is flippant and cavalier about things she should be weighing far more carefully. I'm so angry for him like any one of us in this comments section could be better to him and for him than her. She's trash. Her EQ is rock bottom, and she is so cruel she doesn't even realize she IS cruel. She won't care about his feelings until SHE falls for HIM, until SHE can't live without HIM. It is fundamentally selfish. She's just a low value person, and I hate to see such a valuable man with so much love to give just cast all his pearls before this swine of an FL. UGHHHHHHHH

What I do like about it a lot, is that this show created the ML that the ML from Koi To Dangan wished it could be and wasn't. He's easily in the top 10 badass ML's i've ever seen. So fine!!!!

I thought it was hilarious, hes late for his own battle because of making his whole army play dumb in front of her abt who he is, then he gets there and its too late she already hulk smashed the enemy for him, hed never live that down w his troops.

the writer has created one of the hottest sexiest ML's i've ever seen, and then gave him an extremely stupid duplicitous ungrateful bitch as an FL to play opposite him.

I could be wrong and I hope I'm wrong, but there are certain elements to this show that I think are leading up to a bad ending. First you have the fact that they've been together 5 years. We don't need to have that in the story, we don't need to know that about the characters. But I think the story is built that way to crescendo into a climactic scene with a bunch of flashbacks to the history of their relationship, so when the final moment comes, they hope what we will feel is a 5 year relationship flash before our eyes.

This leads into point two, the music. The ost/bgm songs will repeat, only becoming more and more dramatic each time. And the songs happening are not happy or sexy songs, they are sad, maudlin songs attempting to evoke powerful longing emotions. So in the final climactic scenes, if these songs are playing, somebody prolly bleedin out onto a cold rainy pavement somewhere.

Then there's point three, the fact that he's been depicted killing people and feeding someone to the dogs without flinching. Which makes him very sexy yandere, but I think (plot twists could prove me wrong) he's burned up all his happy ending karma.

Point four, is that Fan Zhi Xin doesn't always take happy ending karmically net positive roles.

show is great, release schedule is really awful

Tell tha to yan zi xian, his mL roles are phenomenal and nuanced. Or ml from ROTP did heavy lifting. Or the long ballad, or my fated boy. Luo zheng has also done some great ml work

This all just goes to show, that Deng Kai NEEDS MORE & BETTER ML ROLES, because any time he plays a supporting character, he upstages everyone who shares the drama with him. Man has charisma to burn, and all that hotness is being wasted on side characters and half baked characters in budget short-lengths. Even in an a-list production, he only needs about 20 minutes total screentime, and he's already threatened to upstage Ling He of all people.

I tried watching 2 different Ming Hao dramas and both of them were totally lacking in spice content.... has Ming Hao ever taken a role that actually has some spice to it?

finished a rewatch of TTEOTM (my first rewatch since it aired), and about to jump into SOKP for like the 5th time probably.

Not everybody saw A Dream of Splendor, but that's one of my faves of the genre, I gave it a 9, and I'm picky.

There's more than 2 wars happening.

Gaza, Iran, Ukraine, Myanmar, Sudan, Yemen, Somalia. More if you count Pakistan, Haiti, Syria, Lebanon, Nigeria, and Ethiopia.

the thing is, they're not lazy hot scenes, they're super fire, really well done. Honestly, all they had to do was either A) tone down the sexification just a touch or B) tone down his crazy just a touch. I also am confused.

NOT complaining about Deng Kai being hotter than fire tho and giving an incredible performance.

First half is really pretty strong. Hooks you from ep 1. But now is the halfway mark and it's going into a state of flux. It remains to be seen if it holds up through to the end or not. BUT. Even if it doesn't pan out with later episodes, if you like Ling He or Deng Kai, this is a must watch regardless. Ling He giving Xie Wei vibes for the first time since he was in SOKP, and Deng Kai with a superb breakout performance. Tian Xi Wei holding strong, and Snow Kong is really great cast opposite Deng Kai.

If there IS a weak link, it's the scriptwriting that is confusing watchers at certain spots, but it might pull through.

Cinematography and aesthetics, bgm/ost and pacing are very good.

I love it when the perpetually morally outraged get offended by the things I like. Please, never get over it.

I can't tell the difference either, I told my kids that if it was someone else doing his dub-over, they're a better match than new kermit is to old kermit.
