So I watched FL take off her robe and say "marry me, because i've already lived this reality once, and it ends bad for both of us if we don't get married" or some sh*t.
And then it did like a rewind to the prev life and I HATE time skip ANYTHING, ughhh so I was like skip ahead skip ahead skip ahead jesus how long is this past life flashback anyways, one ep, two eps, four eps.... and I was like did I miss where Reality A came back into the story?
How long does the flashback of Reality B last?

I don't care what anybody says, his performance in Love and Bid Farewell was one of the best things I've ever seen. He's the hardest working ML in the biz, he will do literally any size project. And sometimes he doesn't give it his all. But when he is focused, he is capable of amazing amazing performances. I want to see him cast in bigger projects more often.

Amen to that. I'm not too proud to dumpster dive, baby. This one is full on trash, but Zhi Jie's possibly best performance is sitting in it, whaddya know. He's another one that needs to be cast in bigger and beefier projects. He did good on this one. So ironic that his best role is in his worst drama. Kinda weird.

Its red-flag ML girls like me that love this ML. There are so many rl reasons why, but we could just chalk it up to you probably having a more healthy well adjusted childhood/love life than me, which is a good thing. We red flag lovers our wiring is all messed up i think.

but og was like "I like FL with 2ML" so what planet did we land on. Deng Kai was SO GOOD they have to keep his screen time to a minimum or else it just turns into the Deng Kai Show, his charisma is so off the charts, and I was stoked because I don't usually see him paired with someone he has good chemistry with, and he REALLY did with Snow Kong. Gotdang, it's too bad his character is literally actual villain.

Getting magical chemistry is just double-bonus and you can't EXPECT that from actors.
Sometimes a story is good BECAUSE of the chemistry alone, it elevates sometimes even a shitty script. But in this case it's the other way around, this drama has literally EVERYTHING going for it, it's doing next to nothing wrong.
And quite frankly, if they DID have the dopamine chemistry with eachother, it'd probably be too racy for someone like my ma, or my gay friend i watched 5 eps with the other day, or my kids when we go out to pho and watch an episode.
Someone like Yan Zi Xian has mad chemistry with many of his FL's because the actor in RL is a very sensual and emotionally accessible person.
Ling He used to be a friggin engineer.
He's just not the kind of person to let himself have chemistry with just anyone. He's a STEM person, he has a critical eye and he is naturally reserved. He had that chemistry with Bai Lu, and he just doesn't have it for Xi Wei.
Whereas Mu Ran is a honey-pie. And he'll probably rock his next project.

And I jumped the fence like 2 years ago, whereas she has not. They just don't have enough good stuff to watch, you run out at some point. And she started off watching romances. But of course you end up running out, and lately she's been watching weird shit like doctor surgery stuff, lawyer stuff, and celebrity reality shows.
I am so so happy right now. I can think of like 20 c-dramas just off the top of my head that she would totally LOVE.

I was like 'if you can just make it past that wall of shurshurshur and acclimate to it, there are SO MANY really good chinese dramas, and they pump em out like 5 a week, not like k-dramas where you run out of stuff to watch. You can literally never run out of c-dramas.' I leave her with a note that says "PURSUIT OF JADE". I come back today, and she is on ep 4!!! HA.

I can write it and read it in traditional tho.)
This is it.... her gateway c-drama. Next I will give her Blossom, and by the time she's done with it, chinese won't sound so strange to her anymore and she'll be scarfing down c-dramas. FINALLY!
I mean I love k-dramas, they are so freakin FUNNY their comedy is so awesome. Korean sounds cool, and they have cool attitudes. But I mean come ON. C-dramas is where its at for real. Their shit is the SHIT. Nothing compares.
So thanks POJ for being that magical drama that converts my mother. That's how you know this drama is DAMN GOOD.
I told her to resist the temptation to just not sleep til ur caught up, or she'll catch up too fast and be up at 5am for a measly 40 mins of runtime and then not know what to do with herself all day. But idk I think she's gonna binge it lol. How can you not.
I see everyone cheering for the slap the ML got from the FL, but I wince every time scenes like this are included…
Turkish dramas - ML always has a fidelity problem -- perfectly acceptable to lock a woman in her room. In my country that's called false imprisonment and comes with a legal penalty but in Turkey this is fine.
Russian and baltic dramas -- Level 11 chauvinism considered sexy
Korean dramas - ML's getting slapped upside the head -- butt jokes, puking on eachother and excessive drinking --ML's and FL's insulting eachother is considered affectionate ("You're so ugly when you cry" etc)
Thai dramas - slapping, kidnapping are ok
Chinese dramas - slapping and throat-grabbing ok
There's a tradeoff when you watch shows from just about any country. For me with the c-dramas the thing that gets me worse than slapping is the throat grabbing. I will NEVER be ok with that sh*t. I wish c-dramas would understand that that kind of crap lowers international appeal for their shows. But whachagonnado.
