i appreciate the full story happening for you in this... he's a marquis and he's never had any of the things they're showing during the quiet days they're having here. He's never sold meat, eaten what there was because that's what there was, gotten excited for someone over a few taels of silver, never been so mad at a loser village butcher or gossip, never roasted chestnuts with anyone. Later when shit gets real, he's gonna look back on all the little things like talking in bed or sitting in the sun or eating chestnuts or orange candy, or wiping away her lil sis's tears and giving her a pinky swear. all this will feed into some beautiful dramatic moments later i think. im also glad the comedy is lowkey, i like shows that take themselves seriously, espeically with hotties like these in them. I think all this will work for the drama and not against it. At least that's what im hoping.

that ending was so so dumb considering all they put us through.... if they had ended it well, it would have stayed higher rated.

the pacing and character development and aesthetics are so so on point, it's impossible not to love it rn as it stands....

he's had people give him bad roles, bad lighting, bad makeup, bad production quality, rushed him through scenes and preparation on tight schedules, paired him with FL's that dont compliment him well, all that shit.

I also switched about 2 yrs ago and haven't really gone back. I only watch a k-drama now if it truly looks exciting which is almost never. Or if Jang Ki Yong is in it because I LOVE HIM. Even when his dramas are bad, i'm hypnotized.

But yeah, something has gone wrong with k-dramas over past few years, these days a lot of them are flashy and hyped but have no actual substance. Oldschool k-dramas were so much more creative and daring.

And even worse, there's this trend popping up where young FL's do this thing where they sound like they're talking with a mouthful of marbles, they think it's "cute" and i find it so cringe that I can barely stand to hear it for 5 mins let alone an entire episode, so no matter how good it looks, if the FL is doing that accent, I'm out.

China is making the best entertainment on the planet right now imo. Nothing beats it.

I've heard it ups ratings to go into the "Episode Guide" tab and rate each individual episode. Don't know if it's true but has to be worth a shot. These are rookie numbers, we need to boost those numbers.

There has to be tho... he's already telling his boi that he won't get serious abt her because his life is too dangerous. That means he already knows that if his life wasn't so dangerous, he WOULD. right?
