One comment of the casting choice..why they are not choosing younger actor for adult A Sen. At this time he should…
I almost feel like if they'd done it right, the kid actor could have handled both roles by himself, he is phenomenal at acting at such a young age, with the right makeup and cosutme effects, and if they scheduled his kid scenes at the beginning of production and done his older version scenes as the last ones to be shot on set, maybe put hidden lifts in his shoes.... but i bet if you asked that kid to "act like you're 20", he could have done it.
Yeah at this point the excuses for not doing it are getting silly.
If you're playin politics with the big bois, one wrong move can have you in such sh*t that your entire family gets executed. Them not being married is a HUGE way for him to hedge his bets and keep her safe so that he feels free to take on more risk.
Omg I JUST started watching Affinity after reading your review 😭 which was delightful btw. And yeah this show…
tysm! it still has a lil ways to go, but if it keeps up like this, i would totally concur. Several dramas have talked a big game and then failed to deliver. This one kind of came out of nowhere, but it's SATISFYING, it's so addictive and so pretty. And that kid A Sen actor!!! Whoa can that kid act, holy moly.
i started this a few days ago, not really expecting much from it and took a few eps to get into it but BY GOD this is crack. Binged the sh*t out of it! All caught up now and devastated I started this too early to do a full binge. The WRITING! The FL!! BEST cinematography vs budget constraints balance i've seen in a long time. Well balanced elements, nothing taking you out of immersion, no cringe, no f*ck ups, almost no drag, timeskip handled perfectly....
I'm sorry, but I completely disagree. The characters are what they need to be for the plot. She's said many times…
Just looked over ur watchlist. I see you are from across the tracks in kdramaland. Please enjoy your stay in c-dramatown, and nevermind these bums... (kicks trash out of sight) as you can see, our streets are safe and this is a friendly community. Come to stay, for a day or a lifetime.
Sometimes I revisit my hometown of kdramaland, to see what's changed (they tore down the old makjang) and what's still stayed the same (amnesia still there).
Will still drop everything for a Jang Ki Yong drama tho. WEW lawd.
I'm sorry, but I completely disagree. The characters are what they need to be for the plot. She's said many times…
right. or if i tell you some of these people are probably paid communications majors working on a show's PR team, probably you wouldn't believe me either.
I know what i got put through on ABAY's page was teens/preteens. Because it was very "defend my parasocial boyfriend Kai" or "D*E FOR HATING SEVENTAN!!!"
I'm sorry, but I completely disagree. The characters are what they need to be for the plot. She's said many times…
Annnd here come the personal attacks, all because you practiced wrongthink. I'll never forget the mob of trash raccoons i ran into on the As Beautiful As You page. Horrible nasty people. They were all probably 12 years old. (sigh)
I'm sorry, but I completely disagree. The characters are what they need to be for the plot. She's said many times…
> I don't understand the point of watching something you don't like;
you don't have to
> it's absurd, really.
It's for the love of the craft of acting and the art of cinema. A) watching actors' careers develop over time B) watching a producer/director/writer's career develop C) Staying relevant in conversations with people about dramas D) So you can give a full critique of a drama without people saying "how would you know if it sucks or not if you dropped it" E) for the lulz....... because sometimes there's treasure mixed in with the junk.
The only thing that's absurd is you thinking it's okay to call someone absurd just because they disagree with you over a drama.
> You should watch things you like, and if you don't enjoy them, then look for something you do.
You just told someone what they 'should' do.
>I'd be even less of a waste of time commenting that I saw something I didn't like (and am still watching for some reason) looking for other similar comments just to vent.
So,,, you're saying "never criticize a show", wow.
> It doesn't make sense to me.
Great, then explain why you gave Lighter and Princess a 5/10, yet still didn't drop.
> But hey, it's your time, not mine.
You're using your time to argue at length in comments section with people whose opinions you don't like. How do you think that's any different?
I'm sorry, but I completely disagree. The characters are what they need to be for the plot. She's said many times…
i appreciate praise and critique both, just why the bickering. I watch stuff I don't like all the time for various reasons, and then i need a place to vent, which is here. Nothing wrong with that.
So far this seems like WJY's best role to date. It's Yanxi Palace all over again, but this time with more maturity and all the kinks worked out of her character til she's just ADORABLE.
CZY got that riz. They dressed him well. His makeup and hair arent' effed up.
Setting is immersive colorful very decent production.
Yall are way farther along than I am. I'll probably finish this? But like... what goes wrong with all this awesomeness? Even if this was spiceless like Blossom, its cute af so far.
When/how does it lose it's sparkle and why? Because this is such a good start I'm mystefied. Do yall think it will pull through in the end or no?
Spice? shouldn't you watch vertical dramas for it?
MANY feature length dramas have a spice quotient. My Fated Boy, Falling Into Your Smile, SOKP, When destiny brings the demon, Life Is Sweet, Deng Kai and Snow Kong in POJ... etc....
I don't need my romance to have a shitton of spice, but i DO need to know what kind of romance i'm getting into BEFORE i start a drama.
But thanks for answering ONE of my questions, "what is the spice level on this"... because apparently the answer is "Zero" or else you wouldn't have defensively snarked out at me for no reason.
A) Med to high bc he's an emperor; he can't openly show it, but he gets jealous easily B) ?c) He gets jealous…
you say he can't openly show it, then how is there spice? i need to know if the kiss scenes and the spicy scenes deliver or if this is more in the lane of like Blossom, kinda PG.
A) What is the spice level on this one? B) What is the kilig level? C) What kind of ML are we talking abt here? D) Is the plot gripping and bingey, or is it one where you have to put in some effort?
SHOCKED this is so freaking GOOD.

But there are also the other kind sometimes...
