No you'd rather vaguely wave your finger around and call a contingency of this discussion section shallow and disappointing. It's much better to just address the whole comment section in general about looking down on others watching this show, but then that way if anyone confronts you, you can just say you weren't talking about them.
I guess you weren't talking about anyone. Just made-up people.

"I feel like a lot of people are consuming this shallowly on a surface level because so many things are already laid down in the drama itself so I don't get some of these takes. Dialogues and scenes should lead you not forcefeed you. No disrespect intended but this is the kind of attention span required for a short drama not something with depth. I also have complaints regarding some things but the takes I'm seeing here are disappointing"
LOL so what you're saying is if you don't like someones take on this drama that's because they're smoothbrained. But no disrespect tho...
Let me copypaste the effing dissertation I wrote to someone abt this story's psychological underpinnings, then can I have your permission to dislike the direction it's taken without being accused of 'consuming this shallowly'? 👻
ML starts off as a badass psycho killer with a heart of gold, he's mysterious and charismatic. Then they take…
WDBTD Act One, FL is sweet transmigrating vacationer Act Two, FL gets amnesia and becomes scrappy and tough Act Three, FL remembers who she is and becomes a wise, transcended version of herself
POJ act one, "In Town" ML is a mystery and FL is a butcher act two "Adventuring" ML is a general and FL performs heroic deeds as a commoner act three "At Court" ML is a general and FL is a general
It's stupid when they do this, they make a winning formula and then completely switch gears like youre watching a whole other story, and nobody likes that sh*t, so it faceplants.
Speed and Love, faceplant Love Between Lines, faceplant Pearl Girl, faceplant AJTL, faceplant WDBTD, faceplant

I was thinking of a different pattern where you get Act 1 Act 2 Act 3. Which is a classic pattern, so I was thinking they must be following this template... look at WDBTD, three acts. POJ, three acts. Wasnt Pearl Girl also? icr.
But you're right about continuity, each of those "Acts" has to fit coherently with the other two or the story really doesn't land.
I don't know I really like the premise and how it was started even the fact they traveled to the Void but there…
ML starts off as a badass psycho killer with a heart of gold, he's mysterious and charismatic. Then they take him to the void, where he is charming and brave, but no longer badass or mysterious. Then Simu shuts him down SO HARD that it utterly destroys their building chemistry Then ML -- rejected -- goes back to human world, where he tries to move on, and at the same time is stripped of his army and status as general, and new characters and stories we don't understand are introduced.... and between these three changes in plot, the story loses ALL it's momentum.
Simu comes back, and tries to be all happy and cute and playful, but I don't even like her anymore because of the way she treated him so harshly.
They need to fix this, or the whole story is gonna slide off down the hill.
he was better as the snake companion of Sima Jiao 😃
he was better as snakey, but even then I thought he was miscast for the part, just based on reading the novel. He ok. But why is it his hair stylist always does him dirty. He doesn't need the poof at the front, it doesn't vibe well with his visuals.
omg that Ding Jia Wen. I've seen him in other stuff and been kind of annoyed and thrown off by his looks and his acting. But in this HE IS SO FREAKING FUNNY, I have laughed so hard 💀🩷💀🩷💀.
I may very well go back and watch everything he's been in because i mean
When he was in the middle of a full body stretch and simu appears in front of him, that whole exchange I rewatched it 3 times and couldn't stop laughing
also why was she shown on the roof stealing wine and drinking it from the pot, she can't feel herself swallow, can't taste, and can't get drunk so i fail to see the point. i love this story but I'm annoyed rn. my bestie and i have been watching an ep a day at the cafe with breakfast, and ep 26 nearly put us both to sleep. She's not a c-drama watcher, but I told her this story was good and then ep 26 happened and made me look like an idiot for saying this show was the shit. it needs to pick up. everything that happened in ep 26 could have been easily condensed into 15 min and wouldn'tve bored us to death. grrr
halfway thru ep 27 idk why but i'm so pissed at simu rn, she rejected him very very brutally, and he left and tried to get on, and she just blows back into his life like it's nothing like is this funny to you simu?
wdbtd had it's merits, and I enjoyed it in a lot of ways, but there were some aspects of the original story that they really botched and it left me with a final impression that was kinda disappointing. Fairly good, though.
But I greatly disliked both Evernight and L&P. The FL's in those were terrible. FL in wdbtd was really well cast, I thought. But LBTG just takes the cake, this is the best acting i've ever seen from either Arthur or Dilraba both.
it's not that she absolutely needs it, but it's a chance she got after 400yrs. So ofc she will want to experience…
it is when you're eternally bored and empty.
i knew someone who had been in prison, and he said the tv in there HAS to be on, and the second it goes off, there are immediate riots. I asked him why. He said because the boredom is enough to drive you insane in there, and the TV is the only relief. Without it, you have to find other ways to relieve your boredom, so they riot because at least it's something to DO.
Imagine the most bored you've ever been in your life and magnify it and times it by 300 years.
It's a strong motivator. The only reason it seems frivolous to you is because your POV is radically different from hers.
>increasingly childish
= even his childishness is truly superior.

"Get me a white wig, a bathtub, and a gallon of red corn syrup, QUICKLY!"
LBTG:
amnesia, check
transcendence, check
demon, check
scrappy urchin, check
Act Two, FL gets amnesia and becomes scrappy and tough
Act Three, FL remembers who she is and becomes a wise, transcended version of herself
