> Since it's a Disneyfied bootleg L&P adaptation
That's funny b/c I didn't know that, and I found myself feeling the same way about the FL from L&P too, where by the end I didn't even really like her!
Unpopular opinion: I am really liking this one so far. The plot is moving along at a speed I can appreciate, and the story interests me enough that I don't get the urge to skip. The FL is so gorgeous. They did make the mistake of casting a 2ML that's hotter than the ML though, so this better start ratcheting up some tension between the leads or it will fall flat. So far there's no spark at all between the leads, but I really like the story nonetheless.
The ML has a very Kleun Cheewit vibe to him that won't appeal to all viewers... I find it kind of offputting myself. But I see the potential for where this might go, and imma keep watching to see what happens next.
Also, I am kind of liking the way they use the ending of an episode as a transition... it makes you feel lost for a second like "whaaat, did I miss a scene or something?" But even though it's disorienting, I find it also kind of cool, especially from a writer's perspective.
It was kind of interesting but also kind of awkward. 7/10 from me. If the whole production didn't feel so rushed and if the ML in particular had had a different stylist, I might have bumped up the score.
It was so-so. The 2ML is introduced to the story in a way that makes his character feel nominal, and the dynamic between he and the ML and the FL just doesn't "pop" the way the dynamics between the characters of Kakafukaka do. (I'm comparing them because they are both unapologetically cheesy and unapologetically sexy) Nothing really grabs me about the 2ML.
The ML/FL dynamic is kinda hot/kinda flat in alternating fashion, but they're not bad. Now this of course is just my opinion.... the scenes are racy, but not racy in what I would consider the right ways.... there is so much skinship/bed-scene action that it borders on softcore in a few scenes.... and yet the kissing is really 'made for tv'. And the way he kisses looks sloppy and soft, like irl he wouldn't be a good kisser. I know that's because she is 'not doing anything' when they kiss, and they probably agreed on that ahead of time so that he could create the illusion for the camera of deep kissing without it actually being deep kissing. But (and this is just IMO!) he needs practice possibly. It just didn't do it for me. It was odd looking. But considering the scenes they were in, it was appropriate to pull back on the realism when it comes to the kissing, because theyr'e stripping eachother naked basically.
The office characters and dynamics also felt a little bit 2 dimensional to me, and that's kind of to be expected in a show like this, but I've seen better energy amongst ensemble casts in comparable j-dramas.
So it was ok. It wasn't bad or anything.
(and if anyone wants to jump in with something about how I just don't know enough j-dramas to know better, check my watchlist first please, ty.)

Thank u for your kind words, I am trying to very gently encourage her to start some therapy. The best I can do is be there for her and try to get her to believe in herself as much as I can.
Actually, the more I think about this logically, the more absurd this particular drama episode is. Let us take…
I think you have a point. I do have a counterpoint, but before I mention it, I just wanted to say that what you're saying here is def plausible, I don't mean to argue with you but bring another perspective on what is to me an unknown at this point.
So the counterargument I would have is this... if it happened at an airport, there are so many people capable of rapid emergency response and taking someone into custody and they're all over the place. You have municipal cops, FBI, EMT's always, sometimes Fire, you have TSA, US Marshalls, ICE, sometimes the DHS. Especially in a bigger airport like that one.
So is it possible he wasn't stabbed in a vital area, and received rapid emergency treatment, yes. Is it possible he was initially taken into custody by an agency that doesn't do public reporting like local police do? Yes. Is it possible he managed to do the violent act without anyone filming it on their phone....? That I don't know.
But the media not reporting it to me, coming from a high-crime densely populated urban American area myself, doesn't seem that weird. In areas like this, there is SO MUCH CRIME, and the media only picks the most cherry stories to report. We have websites you can go where you can see what local police were dispatched to deal with. So if it was local cops, even in Jersey I would think it'd be somehow a matter of public record. But if happened at an airport, idk.
To me the whole thing seems kind of improbable, but also not impossible.

Same, totally. Some people get really upset when sensitive topics like these come up and start throwing around personal attacks, and I don't believe that's right. We should be able to discuss things rationally without put downs just because someone holds a different opinion.
Hi,*SA TRIGGER WARNING*Here is something to consider when it comes to KSR parent's parental responsibility.I was…
I am close friends with someone who was subjected to SA by the son of a business partner of her father. She never told anyone till she was in her early 30's because she was scared no one would back her up or believe her if she spoke up. She finally said something and that's exactly what happened. Less than 2 weeks later everything was "back to normal" and they had patched things up with the business partner and his son, and they lowkey started accusing her of lying or exaggerating for drama. I can hardly imagine anything more heartbreaking.
There's people out there who act as apologists without realizing the damage it causes, and that some truths are unsettling but that doesn't mean its ok to pretend it didn't happen.
For all of you who are still believing the press conference yesterday, please take a moment to read the below…
He didn't pick her up at the mall at random the day she turned 16, he met her when she was like nine dude. We have clips of him sexualizing minors during publicly available interviews. Actresses call him "naughty hands". He tried to burn his high school down. One of his girlfriend requirements is "you have to want to die because of me". Have you heard what the FL auditions for Real were like?
This is not a guy who should be representing S Korea to an international audience.
Do you honestly think it was just a coincidence that she committed su*c*de on his birthday? Did it just slip her mind that her ex of 6 years' birthday was that day? When he found out, why didn't he stop what he was doing to give condolences, share feelings, or reflect? Why did he feel the need to fake-cry at his presser? Why didn't he take any questions at his presser? Why did he initially lie and deny having a relationship with her? Why hasn't he offered any proof that refutes the allegations, for instance invoices for the lawyer fees she supposedly owed him fair and square. Or proof he got in contact with her after the date she received the last extortion letter from Gold Medalist which would debunk the allegation that he ghosted her after trying to come after her for a half a million dollars? These would be easy things to disprove.
He's lost millions and millions of dollars and he's still potentially on the hook with Disney for his entire net worth and then some... just a single unassailable proof from him would completely reverse his new bankruptcy problems, so why not offer something to the public that shows his innocence? He's relying on you just believing his word for it, and losing massive massive amts of money because he doesn't have any defense whatsoever except "nuh-uh" and just suing people, as if suing people is somehow proof of innocence. As the saying goes, you can indict a ham sandwich.
It's sus af, and what really needs protection here isn't him, it's young girls who get exploited, chewed up and spit out by the industry he is a part of, and that he takes part in. He's insanely older than her, the power imbalance between them was real yo, and she was friggin 15 16, yeah let's haggle about her age lol.... who cares if she was legal, he is simply morally repugnant and doesn't belong in an international disney production representing his country. He's a liar and a fake-cryer and a hebephile and an attempted arsonist and probably has big Cluster B problems.
It's unfortunate, but so is KSR's situation. And regardless of how unfortunate his life is getting right now, I'm still not ever going to click on - let alone pay for - anything he's ever in again. And Disney can do with that information what they will.
this one feels like watching a drama. wth is this?? i feel sorry for the late KSR, she was at the peak of her…
He has been through major trauma. I mean his ex ki**ed herself on his BIRTHDAY! He was so shocked he didn't even react, he just kept opening fan presents!!! Obviously it was a huge blow to him, and left him so emotionally bereaved that he couldn't even cry! He's already battling his own demons, what with being an attempted arsonist and all which he had to recover from, he doesn't need other people judging him right now. Hiring him at this point and making him work is just exploitation of the mentally ill and/or emotionally distressed. He should be allowed to step down from acting to focus on his mental health, not forced further onto the public stage. I support Prada's decision to allow him to take a break from any business related activities so he has time to heal.
Just started this, wowwww Zu Er's character is so pretty! Her look is so unique.
Question: If I want to skip the "crappy ending", where should I stop at? If I want to read the actual HE the author had in mind, does anyone have a link for where I can check that out too?
Yknow, court aside... this guy just isn't a good role model worth all the investment in things like prada and disney etc.
For some people who don't know anything about K-drama and will only ever watch maybe 3-5 k-dramas in their lives, so what shows are we talking about, say like Flower of Evil or CLOY...
Wouldn't it be embarrassing if someone who was supposed to be kind of like "The face of S Korea", was a guy who tried to set his high school on fire, said his future GF should want to die because of him, and got caught laughing at french lingerie like a teenage creep talkin bout korean womens' bodies?
So I mean just whatever happens in court, fine. But just on like a common sense level, I think it's appropriate for companies to not want to invest in his future career at this point.. I've seen enough to conclude he's a troubled individual, personally. He should take a long break from acting, and focus on therapy imo. I support his early retirement in order to devote his time to his own mental health.
It takes a really special person to try to set fire to their high school. idk. Just that alone seems like it warrants some form of therapy. Definitely if he was in some kind of Netflix blockbuster, that's like... not S Korea sending their best.
You are probably far from criminal justice (I don't want to be rude) - everything that concerns a criminal investigation…
If he does that, Disney will leave him homeless and starving in a dumpster without a cent to his name. Aint no way that's ever gonna happen. Besides narcissists don't admit guilt because they don't think anything's their fault... ever. He will fight every step of the way for sure. There's so much money at stake its insane.
