I disagree, I think they bear striking resemblance to eachother kind of like Natalie Portman and Kiera Knightley...…
Its not crumbs to take a role that was originally meant for someone else, it happens literally all the time. It's how the business works.
Indiana Jones was meant for Tom Sellek Neo in the Matrix was meant for Wil Smith Forrest Gump was meant for John Travolta Jack in Titanic was meant for Mathew McConahey Han Solo was meant for Al Pacino Clarice Starling was meant for Michelle Pfeifer Iron Man was meant for Tom Cruise Vivian in Pretty Woman was meant for Molly Ringwald In Yanxi Palace, both the roles of Consort Xian and Wei Yingluo were originally meant for other actors.
This is normal and no reason to flip out and get all offended. Relax.
I disagree, I think they bear striking resemblance to eachother kind of like Natalie Portman and Kiera Knightley...…
Well that also happens with Kiera Knightley and Natalie Portman, and they both benefit from it without either overshadowing the other. I don't understand why this is so hard for you to see without becoming offended and changing what I'm actually saying to suit your need to argue. Peace be with you.

Sometimes I see Bai Lu getting stuck playing "the same character" in multiple dramas, and I think YiTong has more flexibility and can be more understated.
I disagree, I think they bear striking resemblance to eachother kind of like Natalie Portman and Kiera Knightley...…
Because BaiLu is at a different stage in her career than YiTong. It gives YiTong a better leg up to carve out her own career and get known in her own right.
I don't think one "outshines" the other. That would be like saying Madonna outshines Lady Gaga. The comparisons are there, but that doesn't mean one is above the other or identical to the other.
They are just strikingly similar, why is that a big deal.
🚨I like Bai Lu too, and it is normal to sometimes associate people to others that we are more familiar with.…
I disagree, I think they bear striking resemblance to eachother kind of like Natalie Portman and Kiera Knightley... only Natalie and Kiera just look alike, and in this instance I think the resemblance is only partially looks, but also their energy seems similar and their acting style. That could be really good for YiTong, because she can pick up roles that were meant for BaiLu when BL can't take a drama due to scheduling conflicts.
There's nothing wrong with two people being similar in style. They're both cute and charismatic and fun to watch.
I didn't know he got hate for his appearance... the only thing I don't like about him is that I fell in love with…
He's far less goofy in PG, but still too hammy imo. He always plays like "woooh it's the Devil Lord of Death!" and then as the show goes on, he turns gooey and soft like a smores crumpling on a campfire. No, no, no I say! Must go darker!
Also in PG, he enlisted in yet another script where all the good characters die. Only this time instead of the entire ensemble cast dying at the end, they die flat out in the middle of the drama, and we are still supposed to care what happens next?
It WAS a slight step up from his usual, but not really what I was hoping to see, I have to admit.
I'm on ep 2 and this is a really really rough start... I'm willing to push through, but can someone ELI5 me the setup of this drama? I mean there's parts of ep 1 and 2 that i rewound 3-4 times and still don't totally understand what's going on.
ML is the villain? Or is he the ML antihero like Goodbye My Princess? Is FL really the 2FL of the script she ended up in?
Why did she get poisoned at the wedding, and then woke up 6 mos eariler?
Why is the little kid with the candied haws in ep 1 the only one who seems meta-aware?
Will never understand why Liu Yuning gets all the hate for his appearance. When he's on screen it's hard to look…
I didn't know he got hate for his appearance... the only thing I don't like about him is that I fell in love with his serious performance in TLB, and ever since then he's been playing ML roles that to one degree or another are goofy or hammy.
I want to see him do serious/passionate/brooding again, he was so good at that. I don't like it when he doesn't take himself seriously, I don't think it looks right on him.
But there's no denying he's super hot and super charismatic.
I wrote a review based on the first 15 episodes but it didn't show up so I'll post another copy here for new people…
a lot of the stuff that's come out lately feels like AI generated crap plots and dialogue, but this one feels fresher and more creative. the 2ML/2FL couple is way more fire than I thought they could be at first, kiss scenes between 2ML/2FL and ML/FL are really good, both pairings have their own kind of chemistry that's rockin. It's still a hokey short-length, but it does feel elevated for what's currently out in this genre.
I'm waiting to decide what i'll give it, but as of now, I'm thinking 7.5-8 and I'm a hard grader.
I've wanted to see Hao Dong in something GOOD for a long time now, I always felt like he was capable of better acting and better roles that what he's done previously. I'm happy.

And then you turned it into some strawman argument as if i had said that YT's success is dependent on BL, which I never said.
Why are you like this. Be at peace omg.

What would be wrong with more name recognition and more popularity and bigger opportunity roles?
