a lot of the stuff that's come out lately feels like AI generated crap plots and dialogue, but this one feels fresher and more creative. the 2ML/2FL couple is way more fire than I thought they could be at first, kiss scenes between 2ML/2FL and ML/FL are really good, both pairings have their own kind of chemistry that's rockin. It's still a hokey short-length, but it does feel elevated for what's currently out in this genre.

I'm waiting to decide what i'll give it, but as of now, I'm thinking 7.5-8 and I'm a hard grader.

I've wanted to see Hao Dong in something GOOD for a long time now, I always felt like he was capable of better acting and better roles that what he's done previously. I'm happy.

It's not just antis that skew ratings to the point that ratings are hard to take seriously....

Same, i've also been bitching about that for a while. Reatings get skewed this way too.

This was so much better than I expected it to be, good story, great performances. Probably a rewatch for me on this one.

im not a fan of the fact that you can rate a show and review it before it's even finished. I feel like that skews ratings all over the place.

So at first he is suspicious of her and at one point he *holds her up off the ground by her throat with her feet dangling inches above the ground, and squeezes until she partially passes out*.

And then after that they slowly fall in love, awww.... Nothing says romance like strangulation, right china?

I tried to get past that for the sake of the plot, but I just couldn't. I've seen plenty of c-drama scenes where the ML holds or grabs the woman by the throat, but this one was somehow worse than usual. He freakin picked her up by the throat until she lost consciousness. I'm sorry but that's just not something that belongs in a romance story at all.

Damn he is HOT! His acting was so fire in Close To You that I'm now following his dramas and wishing the absolute best of success for him. IMO, he needs more challenging roles with greater complexity and more screentime, a producer that cares about the art of their craft.

He has huge Zo In Sung energy and I mean that in the best possible way. Gorgeous man, electric performances, raw depth of skill... praying he gets "discovered", it would be so amazing to see his career take off.

I am about 10 eps in and i just have to say... humor is SO on point!

Ha! Last nitr I said "ill just watch the first ep or two to get an idea'... 11 eps later it was 4.30 am and i slept 3 hrs b4 i had to get up for work!

That's funny b/c I didn't know that, and I found myself feeling the same way about the FL from L&P too, where by the end I didn't even really like her!

Unpopular opinion: I am really liking this one so far. The plot is moving along at a speed I can appreciate, and the story interests me enough that I don't get the urge to skip. The FL is so gorgeous. They did make the mistake of casting a 2ML that's hotter than the ML though, so this better start ratcheting up some tension between the leads or it will fall flat. So far there's no spark at all between the leads, but I really like the story nonetheless.

The ML has a very Kleun Cheewit vibe to him that won't appeal to all viewers... I find it kind of offputting myself. But I see the potential for where this might go, and imma keep watching to see what happens next.

Also, I am kind of liking the way they use the ending of an episode as a transition... it makes you feel lost for a second like "whaaat, did I miss a scene or something?" But even though it's disorienting, I find it also kind of cool, especially from a writer's perspective.

It was kind of interesting but also kind of awkward. 7/10 from me. If the whole production didn't feel so rushed and if the ML in particular had had a different stylist, I might have bumped up the score.

It was so-so. The 2ML is introduced to the story in a way that makes his character feel nominal, and the dynamic between he and the ML and the FL just doesn't "pop" the way the dynamics between the characters of Kakafukaka do. (I'm comparing them because they are both unapologetically cheesy and unapologetically sexy) Nothing really grabs me about the 2ML.

The ML/FL dynamic is kinda hot/kinda flat in alternating fashion, but they're not bad. Now this of course is just my opinion.... the scenes are racy, but not racy in what I would consider the right ways.... there is so much skinship/bed-scene action that it borders on softcore in a few scenes.... and yet the kissing is really 'made for tv'. And the way he kisses looks sloppy and soft, like irl he wouldn't be a good kisser. I know that's because she is 'not doing anything' when they kiss, and they probably agreed on that ahead of time so that he could create the illusion for the camera of deep kissing without it actually being deep kissing. But (and this is just IMO!) he needs practice possibly. It just didn't do it for me. It was odd looking. But considering the scenes they were in, it was appropriate to pull back on the realism when it comes to the kissing, because theyr'e stripping eachother naked basically.

The office characters and dynamics also felt a little bit 2 dimensional to me, and that's kind of to be expected in a show like this, but I've seen better energy amongst ensemble casts in comparable j-dramas.

So it was ok. It wasn't bad or anything.

(and if anyone wants to jump in with something about how I just don't know enough j-dramas to know better, check my watchlist first please, ty.)

That's nice for you. I've seen hundreds of c-dramas as well, so my opinion is not less valid than yours, but you do you.

Thank u for your kind words, I am trying to very gently encourage her to start some therapy. The best I can do is be there for her and try to get her to believe in herself as much as I can.
