I’ve been noticing more and more that MDL, especially the c-drama community, has been gaining a lot of male…
I don't think something has to be misandry to be really bad. I believe a certain amount of sexism is appropriate. I don't believe that genders should always have equal access to opportunites or totally equal rights. There are some situations where I think women should have more rights or that men should have more rights. I don't like "equal opportunity" everything. I think society and culture suffer for it when it's taken too far and applied to too many things.
The genders are NOT equal. To act like they are is just ignoring tens of thousands of years of biology.
I mean I don't want to step in a big pile of debate here. I have mild carpal tunnel and I don't need a lot of excessive typing in my life. But I just wanted to clarify, that your clarification is moot to my points. My point is that *feminism* can go to far. Just pure straight feminism. Without added misandry. But misandry being a thing in certain communities is definitely fueled by what probably started as feminism for them.
It's kind of like I like what feminism did for women in the 80's and 90's.... and now I want it to stop and back up a few steps. I don't like my experience being a woman as much now as I did then. I don't want to be treated like a strong independent woman. I'm not and I have no interest in being one.
But I realize this viewpoint is a luxury I can afford BECAUSE of previous women's rights movements. I think women's rights is awesome and important. And I also think it can go too far, and end up backfiring and hurting women's lives. I wish there was a happy medium. I wish feminism knew how to quit when they're ahead.
I’ve been noticing more and more that MDL, especially the c-drama community, has been gaining a lot of male…
Part of it is that this is an international site with lots of different people from different backgrounds.... I come from an EXTREEEMLY progressive community. I see the worst that feminism becomes when it's taken too far. But there's other parts of the world where it's perfectly normal and legal to forcibly lock a woman in her room for days because she's 'misbehaving' or whatever. Or cultures where women are still basically bought and sold like cattle. In those cultures, something feminist would be so valuable to have and to watch. So I'm glad there's feminist stuff out there for people to enjoy and be exposed to. But I don't want to watch that stuff. Feminism CAN go too far, and I see the consequences of that in my daily life all around me, and it causes a lot of misery, just in totally other ways to misogyny.
So some people are going to - for various reasons - see feminist anything as virulent crap. And some people are going to see it as important and brave. A lot of it depends just on cultural, and personal, experience.
When I see some criticizing the writers I get childish and immediately think…”then why don’t you write a…
There's no need to respect someone who's not good at their craft. What if you got a really messed up filling at your dentist and he jacked your tooth up bad, and when you complained about it, he said "I'd like to see YOU drill a tooth, smartass."
Bravo!!! Too much feminist garbage!!! Most kdramas are already unwatchable because of this. Now I see cdramas…
There's still plenty of variety in c-dramas, but politically aggressive feminism is definitely a theme that keeps recurring. I think people should be able to watch pretty much what they want to watch, but I sure don't need that in my life. I don't live in a repressed society, I live in a society that swung wayyy too far to the other end of the pendulum. So now for escapist entertainment, I like strong, dominating, obsessive badasses for ML's. I like FL's that don't emasculate the ML's they're playing opposite... I see way too much of that in rl. It's depressing and awful.
How is this going to go down, will he be live in person somewhere, and is that somewhere IN SKorea? I'm just wondering if this would count as proof of current location when it happens or not.
YO THE FANS ARE CRAZYYone of them said its ok to date a minor its not like she was 9yrs oldI have been arguing…
Here is a response you can use:
Whether it is okay to date a minor is a matter of cultural mass-morality. The fact of the matter is that in civilized societies of economic and cultural relevance, dating a minor is morally abhorrent.
So if SKorea wants to maintain it's international relevance, they must disavow this behavior in the strongest terms. If they want to limit their market exposure to culturally backwater countries with no global economic relevance, they can keep condoning the practice of sexualizing tweens and just FAFO.
It's a battle to the death over two opposed ideologies: peace through a united globalist government, or peace through nationalism. I wish everyone had a copy of The Wallchart Of World History.... ALL attempts at Empire eventually fail. idk why innocent souls always have to perish as the rich and powerful keep attempting something as impractical and illusory as world domination.
No one is trying to “bully” people off the page what’s actually being discussed is how some Hidden Love…
That doesn't change the fact that someone literally came in and was like "I tried to watch this but thought it was boring" and they got called toxic and childish for it.
It's on you guys what you look like to an outside perspective.
> Disagreeing with someone’s opinion on a show isn’t bullying. Critiquing a perspective isn’t the same as attacking a person. If someone feels strongly about a show, they’re allowed to express it, just like others are allowed to respond. Let’s not blur the line between discussion and actual harassment.
> When i try to be friendly here by discussing in a nice / calm way what do I get in return insult so not every one talks calmly and the user had their reason for saying so.
I don't even care. Conduct yourself how you want. All I did was see this page and think 'RIP comments section' and make a comment about it.
MDL is a site for open discussions, people here are free to express their opinion whether positive or negative…
> "we were talking about the ones on social media and the toxic fandom culture, you're really blowing things out of proportion based on a conversation I had with another user then you proceed to generalize everyone here and twist stuff even claim of aggression, before you go on policing people try to learn what disagreements are if you aren't comfortable in having such disagreements then it's best you avoid putting yourself in a place that is bound for disagreements."
Think about it this way. I haven't visited this page since a week after the drama finished, until now. I just scrolled through comments, and stated my opinion of this comments section as it sits now.
You think I'm blowing something out of proportion. I propose that I am simply a bystander with no vested interest, commenting on how I view what's happening here in this comments.
How do you know whether I am blowing something out of proportion, or whether you are minimizing rude behavior to excuse it?
You adore this show, you have camped on this page. I have just been cruising around MDL looking at lots of other things. This page, to me, stands out as one that has been taken over by bullies.
It's so easy for you to look at me and say I have a problem here. Yet so hard for you to look at yourself with the same critical lens, and ask if maybe it isn't you who has the problem.
I'm not even here for you. I'm here to leave a message to others who see this page, that the comments section here is going to give you a really distorted and warped impression of the show, because you're only seeing haters and psychofans, and can't see an in-between opinion, and why? Because reasonable moderate discussion has been forced off this page.
MDL is a site for reviews. This is not a fan site. You don't have any special rights to be here, and you have no moral high-ground for bullying/lecturing/attacking other users just because they didn't like the show that you loved.
It is so very very normal for someone to start a drama and then decide they didn't like it. Yet you accuse everyone who didn't like it of having some grudge against it because it wasn't as good as Hidden Love. You call them names, you talk down on them, and try to bully them off the page.
You have apparently overlooked the fact that if you slide or bully everyone off the comments of this page, then people will come here and get the impression this is the best drama ever, and then watch it without being warned of what some people didn't like about it. And then they're going to feel let down by the show, because it's not the ten that it's biased slobbering fans thought it was, rate it lower, and come in the comments and vent their dissatisfaction.
You're actually perpetuating the cycle you complain about, by trying to aggressively tone police this page.

If someone is namecalling, that is bullying. If someone wants to talk about the SHOW, and you turn it into a critique of THEM, that is bullying.
Imagine I said "I like vanilla ice cream, so I thought I would like chocolate ice cream, but I think it tastes bad."
Now imagine someone else says "These Vanilla ice cream fans are so childish"
That is bullying. Because you are no longer discussing the ice cream, but attacking the character of the person who doesn't like it.
