Best review for someone who just wants to know what the deal is with this drama. I can see this drama's page is filled with rainbow-sprinkle bullsh*t and mean fans, and when that happens, it's so hard to just get an unbiased review.
Blossom is pure c-drama crack. Anyone thinking some boring-ass seven drama can compare to it is completely delusional.
I can't believe they are really going to torture us with this one episode a day schedule ðŸ˜
it's way too addictive for that, i just stopped at ep 23 because once i pick it up again, i don't want to put it down til im finished w/ the last ep. I'm not gonna do this one-a-day stuff, this show is way too cool for that.
whys this ml always torturing and getting revenge on his fls?
In Estranged Fall In Love, Chasing Love and My Uncanny Destiny, he played a really sweet nice guy. In taking love as contract, he was kind of an in-between character. So overall if you look at his full resume, it's fairly balanced.
I just wonder why in Republican Era dramas, it's always a miscommunication driven thing where one of them starts off wanting to kill the other over some shit that if they just talked about for like 10 minutes it would clear everything up.
Yeah if you compare it with Cheng othr drama currently airing this looks more expensive and the fl is good as…
I thought it looked inconsistent. There were some scenes shot that were beautiful, and some of the backdrops looked luxurious, but then you get like the scene where the ML's adoptive ?brother?father? gets home from the hospital and he's sitting on the couch in a room that's supposed to be his living room, but really looks like a teacher's lounge, with his IV drip bag hanging from a friggin coat rack.
I concur that the FL did a really good job considering her experience level. I hope she gets more leading roles in the future.
I think we have all become jaded and too suspicious because of the trend of BE/SE in recent dramas.Personally,…
Im unsure as well, because he has supposedly tortured a lot of people in prison, which would likely lead to a SE according to c-drama rules. But he hasn't committed a single unjust act of violence once since the start of the show, which would make it an HE.
In Dream of Splendor, the ML is a prison torturer person as well, and he gets an HE because he never committed an unjust act in the drama.
I'm a hard grader, I'd give the chemistry like a 7/10. It's not the best I've ever seen but it's better than average.…
Well judging by your watchlist idk if my reccs would appease you, because we have totally different tastes on a lot of our overlap <3 And I can't tell exactly from your list, but I for one, am a huuuge red-flag lover. I'd hate to recc you something hot-toxic when that maybe isn't your bag.
But srsly Yan Zi Xian.... so much hot... you could just about pick anything he's been in, and he's been in a few historic.

you raise a good point. But even then, there are quite a few historic/wuxia I'd rate as well above this one as far as chemistry, and some of them are on the list I just rattled off. But still I'd just emphasize, that that doesn't mean I thought this *lacked* chemistry. There's enough chemistry there to make the story work well and to keep me satisfied enough that I still care about the characters and what happens to their relationship. I thought it was fine, I just didn't think it was really noteworthy.
Because I'm a hard grader, 7/10 still means "better than average" imo.

SoKP burned my eyeballs out it was so good, and since then I roam the c-drama wastelands looking for scraps of sustenance. In comparison to most of the stuff that's come out lately this one is like an oasis in a post-apocalyptic desert.
I don't mind the story's latest arc, I love how it digressed, I just hope the writers can finesse their way out of it smoothly. Take the ML's father for instance, he WAS like a source of real pain, for the ML and vicariously for us the viewers. Now he is someone we are almost inclined to see as harmless because he's so friggin funny right now. So... will he come back into more of an emotionally heavy character, or will they continue on with his character in it's current incarnation?
The fact that they kind of switched it up with the tone and the story, I like that I don't know where this all is going.
Want to start this drama but still not sure. are they together now by Episode 23? how's the chemistry, kiss scenes…
I'm a hard grader, I'd give the chemistry like a 7/10. It's not the best I've ever seen but it's better than average. The ML is eye candy, and the FL has no annoying characteristics and is somewhat pretty.
The real reason to watch this is not because it's some burning passion filled atomic blast of sexy.... but because the show itself is so well written, it's just flat out addictive. It's all storylines and plots that have been done before, but the way they write the scenes and direct them, is so satisfying and attention-holding. The characters are written well and cast well. Even the villains. The humor is also juuust right. It's not too intrusive, the story is basically serious. But these random funny things will kind of blindside you out of nowhere, and the funny, when it happens, is pretty damn funny, and kind of lowkey. Just really well done.
The ML and FL both have a lot of onscreen charisma, and their chemistry level isn't top tier, but it's plenty good enough to keep you riveted to the story.
After hundreds of c-dramas I tend to be a little bit vicious about them, and I rarely will call a drama just flat-out "really good". But this one is turning out to be really good. There's only a small handful of dramas that have come out in the past 6 months that I think are "as-good-as-or-better" than this. So it's not even over yet and already it's on my short-list of dramas I'd recc.
By the 22 I think we'll have the final express released. Well I'm praying for the 22 because that's my day off…
I just started this drama 2 days ago, and my calculations told me I'd be caught up right around the time it ended so I could binge them all in a row, uninterrupted.
But my calculations did not factor in that this show is like CRACK. And now I'm only 3 episodes away from being caught up and I'm crying.
This is now the second time I've seen an actor wearing Invisalign while playing a part (The other being Yu Ning in Pearl Girl). I hope to god this is not some new trend in c-dramas because it is SO DISTRACTING omg!
Dear Chinese Director: Invisalign is not literally invisible.
When they killed of every side character halfway thru, i dropped. Did u finish it? And yes this drama is safe…
I fell in love with Yu Ning from his role in TLB, and I keep looking forward to everything he does after that, but so far I think everything he's done after that kinda sucks. I find it frustrating. I really wanted to love pearl girl, but it just did not rock my world at all. I hardly ever drop, but when they killed everyone off mid-way through, I was like "Welp. Shows over."
Blossom is pure c-drama crack. Anyone thinking some boring-ass seven drama can compare to it is completely delusional.
And your profile gif... omg... hilarious <3
