Drama poses some interesting questions through 4 couples.
With main couple, the ML is not ready to marry and the FL does not want to give it all because of her fears. Both are red flags when looking for a partner. Unless these 2 are willing to be upfront about these red-flags, they have no business dating anyone. The character growth for these two probably would be in this area.
With second couple, it's broken trust, regret and not meeting the expectations. This relationship is pretty much doomed. They don't match each other in any sense. There is really no bridging that.
The guy who has never been with his family is getting more and more exposed. The wife is imagining things BUT it's that guy who has never made an effort to be with his family. No one pushed him away for years, he chose to stay away. He comes back years later and unsurprisingly all he seems are couple of strangers and decides to bail again. Worse, he goes to another woman's house to stay, which basically is a punch in the gut for his wife. He really needs to buckle up and grovel.
The guy who want's to study is toxic. At his age responsibility triumphs everything else. His wife is an angel. She was willing to go through tough times to support his ambitions and he pulls a crapper on her. The guy needs a beating.

The FL is pathetic with little growth & the ML comes across as a creep. The show is just about romance & nothing else. There is absolutely no other plot to this story. but the progression of romance for FL and ML make little sense.
It's hard to swallow that the FL was weeping over her crush in front of ML and then few days later is deeply in love with him. The FL in BP is possibly the most pathetic FL I have seen in Cdramas. These FL's are fairly common in Cdramas though. It hard to see why any bloke would fall for a girl like that. Would anyone believe a guy who has been crying over a girl pathetically suddenly falls in love with the hot sexy female CEO of his company?!!

the webtoon is much better. Except for the names of the characters, there is very little in the drama from the webtoon.
The drama is a bundle of vomit inducing cliches, perhaps liked by 10 year old girls with fantasies of a prince coming to sweep them off their feet to happiness - and the drama can't even do that right.
The ML has more make up on his face than the rest of the cast combined has on theirs. It's hard to look at his face with heavy make up and tell yourself this man is CEO and still spends hours each day to cover his face in heavy makeup. Worse is how his character is portrayed & the TRAUMA that every Asian male CEO's seems to have.
Watching the drama one does not know why the ML who is 30 year old, been around the world, having met girls from different cultures and walks of life finds only the FL attractive and decides to finally enter puberty.
The FL is unconvincing in how she went from wailing over failed love of 7 years to the ML. The only explanation is rebound. frankly the FL is absolutely pathetic.
As a feminist, one just needs to swap the gender roles to see how utterly disgustingly pathetic the FL is.
PS: I think we should start a petition to have all male CEO's in asia to go to a group therapy session for their trauma, which they all seem to have.

I have seen some really good modern cdramas. 'To Fly with you' is my absolute favorite this year and it was very very charming. the FL in that drama is my fav in any asian drama this year.
Point though is that for every good modern Cdrama there are 5 that are so bad that your head hurts watching that. On average modern Kdramas are much much better than modern Cdramas.

You know in a Cdrama I watched the 2ML who was the crush of FL tie apron on her. The way he ties is he hugs the FL, they were practically embracing each other and he ties the knot in the back. My mind was thinking, do an experiment with a million people and ask them to tie an apron and not a single one would do it that way. Point being, the ML walks in on them embracing each other tighly and misunderstands. The director injected this stupid scene to create conflict and jealousy. As viewers one has to be an idiot to swallow that crap.

There does not exist a reality where the girl or boy would leave the one they cared for when they just got punched and walk away with the perpetrator. The thing anyone outside of this stupid drama would do is ask the friend to Foff and stay with the one who got hit. Any explanation would given at a later time.

In between there are plenty of stupid cliches like the rich CEO guy showing off how rich he is for starters. The most endearing thing in the webtoon is TaeMu going to FL parents fried chicken shop and helping there. It was not about how rich he is and throwing money at FL to impress her.
