I don't mind annoying characters in a drama, even the ML and FL can be annoying.
In fact the more annoying ML and FL are the better the drama would be. The conflict and growth of characters is what makes a drama interesting.

I don't mind if some one said 'it is as it is, we like our ML's pure and virgin and that's what the writers are delivering to fulfill our fantasies'. At the least that person would get an applaud for being frank about what's happening.

The actors playing the leads are top notch.
Healer was my first JCW drama & he was absolutely charming in that.
for FL, I think it was 'Angels last mission', she was stunning in that one.

The observation on her being the red flag in her relationships is not necessarily a bad thing. she was the red flag and that's why the relations failed. It just makes the Fl more relatable and humane.

It's not just the waiting part, that's just one part of what makes the ML in this drama a complete fake. It's summation of a dozen of things that leaves you scratching your head as to what kind of drugs was the writer on to write such a ML!

She was a green flag until the latest episode.

Imagine if ML was dating FL but was secretly in love with another woman. Wonder if the ML would be called a green flag.

Again, the FL is still realistic, she tried to move on and could not, a perfectly normal reasonable human thing.

People need to really stop their BS logic of how some people hate the FL or the ML.
The hate is NOT on these characters, it;s purely on the incompetent writers.

All those with wonderful theories on why FL chose to date multiple men and ML stayed put and in love, seem to forget that these are NOT real people but imagination of writers.

The writers created these characters and their story arks.
For those who say FL chose to date to forget the ML and the ML did not date for xyz reason, you are just lying to yourself.
The reason why FL dated multiple men and the ML stayed put is because that's how the writer chose to write the FL and ML.
It is also why there is 2ML who exists for god knows why....because the writer wanted another man deeply in love with FL in the drama.

AND HERE IS THE IMPORTANT POINT ->

It's not just this drama, it pretty much most Kdrama rom-coms in last few years.

the writers pretty much have ML similar to the ML of this drama, while the FL in most rom-coms are similar to the FL of this drama.
Check out dramas like 'A good day to be a dog', 'my man is cupid', 'love to hate you', 'king the land' etc etc...and see how the writers chose to write the FL and ML.

Instead of spewing nonsense on people who have differing view on this drama, take the challenge...Show a single drama in last few years where the ML is shown to have dated lot of women & the FL stayed completely dedicated to ML and never even looks at another man...
If an industry has never made a drama like this but has made dozens of dramas where FL dates multiple men while ML is waiting for the Fl...then you know exactly what's happening and why it is happening.
All this talk of gender is nonsense. I have checked gender of writers of dramas where the ML is shown as fake as in this one and all of them are women....it then becomes very obvious why these writers have written such FL and ML in their dramas.

If Kdrama industry constantly produced dramas written by male writers, where the ML was dating multiple women OR is always surrounded by multiple women, while FL is shown having zero men around her & is shown to have never looked at another man and only ever loved Ml....I would be trashing those writers as well for making unrealistic FL's in their dramas.

If this kind of ML was a now and then thing in Kdramas, it would be fine but these ML's are pretty much in each and every Kdrama now a days - and that's the main problem.
It's not just this drama with these problematic characterization of ML's. It's almost each and every kdrama rom-com.

kdrama rule 1 - ML must always be pure and save himself for the FL.

Imagine if the writer of this drama went other way.

ML dates multiple women, while the FL stays put and does not look at another man, keep waiting for ML.
And then she comes back, has to compete with her best friend for love of ML. Both women competing and saying cringy eternal love things to ML and ML is struggling with this...

This actually makes the FL worse, a red flag.
There was never anything wrong with FL dating, weird one was always the ML.

the writer in trying to balance out the FL, turns her into a red flag.
Now the cheating boyfriend in episode 1 comes across as a victim of FL.

Like I said, this is top class shit writing.
If anyone wants to become a writer, they need to watch this drama in how NOT to write characters or story lines.

People seem to be under some misunderstanding that ML and the FL are real or represent some real people in real life. The FL might but the ML is as fake as they get.

I have made this challenge quite a few times before, why not you take it as well.
Show a single Kdrama in last 2 years where the ML dated a lot of women & the FL was deeply in love with ML and waited for him without dating or even looking at another man?

The pattern in Kdramas is very clear, make ML's have either zero interactions with other woman or very little, while FL will have as many interactions with as many men to cater to fantasies of certain section of viewers.

This says nothing about the ML or FL of this drama OR any other kdrama.
It only comments on the writers of these fake and stupid dramas who take the viewers for a ride.

FFS, please let me know exactly what purpose did the 2ML who waited for the FL all his life serve in this drama?

Go and watch rom-coms released in last 6 months.
make a list of women around ML and make a list of men around the FL's in all these dramas, I won't need to tell you, you will realize yourself the kind of shit writers have been serving to us in Kdramas now a days.

We get a good episode, finally.
This should have been a 4th or 5th episode of the drama.

Wrong, she did not come back because her career was going great and was decent amount of relationships.
She had NO reason to come back.

If she never wanted to come back, she would not have come back when she lost her job either.

Again, what the writers show and what the writers say don't match.

If you are into action, horror and gore, yes.

This was a story where the love triangle was needed but with ML having another women chasing him, to ensure FL feels jealousy and her feelings boil over.

The love triangle with another man makes no sense. The ML already declared his undying love for the FL and is practically a doormat. So, exactly what purpose is the writer trying to achieve by having 2ML is beyond my comprehension.

Now imagine FL coming back & finds ML having a casual relationship with another women. That would added spice to the story with both ML and FL dealing with their feelings...

Tone of the drama so far is ML -> chasing FL.

The drama at some point needs to convince the viewers that FL is even invested in ML and is willing to fight for him or sacrifice for him.

So far, the writers have failed to do so. All the gestures and sacrifices are all from the ML. there is no balance in the love story.

And the love triangle makes it even worse.
It's like you go for a nice dinner, you are served crap food and the guy behind you is constantly farting.

He was not the one who broke up or caused the break up.
It was FL, pushed on by ML's dad.

So, ML has zero responsibility for the break up.

He is not responsible for his dad's sins.
Similar to how FL is not responsible for her mom's choices, which indirectly paved way for ML's mom death. The ML's dad blames FL's whole family, which clearly is not right....and the drama shows it as such.

The only people responsible for the break up are FL and ML's dad.
And it's up to these 2 to make it right.

If not, some could argue that ML's dad is right in thinking FL is also responsible for what happened to his wife - guilt by association.

If it was a well written drama, then I would have gone with the ML needing to take the lead since his dad was the 'issue'

Problem with the bad writing in the drama is that one hand it shows ML's dad being mad at FL's mom is wrong, due to disassociation of act of ML's mother's death by FL's mom and even FL.
i'e, ML's dad holding FL indirectly responsible for something she is not responsible for...

Now, the same drama asks ML to take responsibility for what his dad had done...

drama can't have it both ways.

FL was an adult, she made her own choice at the end of the day. It's up to her to make an effort. but since Kdrama writers are stupid, they will show ML needing to take responsibility for something he did not do, while showing ML's dad was wrong in asking FL to take responsibility for something she did not do.

It's stupid writing, like I said, these writers spend more time on surrounding FL with virgin men, than writing an actual story or developing characters.

Just look after yourself and block me...others are adults and will decide for themselves..

these kinds of repetitive, fake and frankly shitty ML's are the norm in Kdramas. its because viewers seem to like this version of fake men.

Some one need to tell Kdrama ML's about these normal behavior,

in 90% of romance Kdramas, the normal behavior you talk about does not seem to apply to the ML's.

The FL's tend to be fine, except for the violence and rampant alcoholism.
