It's offensive when men do it women. Have no idea what happens in middle eastern countries but I think you are right about it. They can marry multiple women there and I can easily imagine the horrendous violence being perpetrated on women in those countries.

Point is, it should be offensive when it happens other way.

It's just like beating up women, it should never ever happen. A man who lays a finger on a woman in anger is not even a man.
But Kdramas and even Cdramas write scenes where the FL is absolutely giving a thrashing to ML and it shown as comedy.

Again, once in a while it's enjoyable to have a Virgin CEO dedicated to single woman in FL trope...
but when almost every drama is that trope, it is shitty writing.

The writers just turned the FL into complete moron.

She got molested by the 2ML.
And one call she jumps into his car and has a merry go around with him.

The writer must have some fantasy of getting of doing it with brothers but this is just too weird and defies common sense.
If the writer wants to give the FL a threesome with 2 brothers, just do it straight up.

As long as it's gripping and done well, showing through actions and emotions can have a much greater impact, especially if the actors doing it are brilliant.

fact remains though, in these dramas we mostly see POV of FL and rarely ML.
In fact I doubt the writers are as much invested in fleshing out ML as they are with FL. That could be the main reason more than anything else.

Don't know why people call them love triangle?

If it's always FL and multiple men, it should be called harem for FL,
A love triangle implies it could be ML and multiple women including FL but they rarely are.

I would take back my comments if that ever happens in this drama.

In fact, ML's role will continue to remain as a support role to the FL.
This is the theme in a lot of romance Kdramas and the tone of this one is similar to all of those.

POV means thought process, instead of telling us what FL or ML feels, we get their thought process from first person point as to how they feel.

As an example, in episode 1 of 'My Demon', the FL goes into toilet and we get a POV of her thoughts.

I don't remember Castaway Diva giving ML a POV.

It's fun to make fun of shit like this and get a raise out of people defending this shit.

You mean there is a drama where the FL does not have an ex or a man chasing her and the ML has ex girlfriend and few other girls chasing him along with FL?

It's raining virgin ML's in Kdramas and Cdramas this year.
And most important fact, all of them are extremely good looking, successful, rich. and very dedicated.

This is like the 100th Cdrama this year where the ML who has everything going for him but remains a virgin.

These Cdrama writers really really are determined to pair their experienced FL's with a virgin prince in each and every drama.

I have watched almost all dramas of the actors who play the ML and FL, both wonderful actors.

Just one point - I completely agree that people date when trying to move on after a break up. It's probably the most common occurrence in the world.
Heart broken people trying to find love is as old as love itself. It's common, natural and needs to happen.
If people don't try to find love after getting their heart broken, world would be a very sad place.

I guess the point i am making is that in Kdramas and Cdramas, most of the time the only making an effort to move on is the FL, while the ML stays put.
My biggest grouse is that this trope is the only genre in romance Kdramas, there are exceptions of course,
When more than 80% of romance dramas have the same ML and FL, it not a genre anymore...it's the only thing happening around.

The fact that people struggle to name few dramas, opposite just drives home the point I am making - that the writers are lazy and stupid.

As far as the dramas being light hearted and fun, I bet it would not be called such if the trope was reversed and it was ML who has lot of women in his life and the FL was ever only the ML. Now imagine hundreds of these dramas being made with ML having multiple women and Fl having only the ML, pining, chasing and waiting for him.

The reason we watch movies and dramas is because we like to be surprised.
Sometimes the story surprises you, sometimes the action, sometimes the fantasy elements and so on....but in romance genres none of them are present.
Unlike every other genre, romance is all about two people who eventually end up together. You want to be surprised by their characters and their journey.
That does not happen anymore in Kdramas. In episode 1, you know exactly what the ML and FL are. In some there would be an insanely sexy 2ML who be very very close to FL and in some there would be a bitchy 2FL who the ML never glances at.

I mean, come on, even my dog can come up with more variety in ML and FL than this.

See, that's 2 dramas in 7 years.

Now If I ask you to show where the ML is dedicated or shown to only ever love FL & the FL has liked/loved/dated multiple men, we can probably name dozens from this calender year alone.

These dramas are crap simply because the writers have taken the worst tropes and are rehashing them repeatedly. They are not even making an effort to write dramas with different kinds ML and FL.
If it's a romance Kdrama or Cdrama, 9 out of 10 of them have the same ML and FL we have already seen.

That's just shitty writing and my posts are targeting the writers most of all.
The attack on characters and dramas is by product of having to show these writers as lazy and stupid.

I mean, really...the same handsome/CEO/rich/immortal ML who has trauma and hence does not look at any woman except the FL...trope.

It may just be the FL being so wonderfully expressive.
And standing next to her, the ML comes across a bit dull.

I would still prefer an actor with better actor chops, even if it at the cost of looks.

Can understand why you find my first comment as such but I have been saying against this trope for over a year now in this place.

It's not that I don't like that trope,
i do like it, as long as it is used sparingly. What;s there not to like about a man absolutely dedicated to the woman he loves.

sadly, the dramas in last few years in Kdrama and Cdrama world have only this trope, the absolutely dedicated ML and barely dedicated FL.

While my comment about this drama seem premature considering it's just 2 episdes, my experience in watching these dramas for few years now tells me exactly how it would go.

In fact, you should go and read my comments on drama 'Wonderland of Love'. With in first episodes, I predicted exactly what would happen between ML, FL and 2ML and the drama went exactly as I predicted.
The prediction part was easy, that drama was exactly like dozens of other Cdramas, including how the ML, FL and 2ML were.

So, predicting THIS drama is not rocket science.
We have seen this ML in dozens of Kdramas, this year alone.
And we have also seen similar FL in dozens of Kdramas...

The characters hold no surprise, the ML is a simp because that's the taste of viwers and writers of this drama.
They just want the ML as pure as possible, unsoiled by other women and only for the FL.
The FL on other hand does not have such restrictions. in fact, the more men, the merrier.

Btw, know any drama where the FL was the one with trauma and as result never interacts with men? And the only man she can interact with is the ML..

Why not remove all the details about me and post only about drama?
The writers are fair game since they wrote the drama.

Now, your point of contention is this.
FL did not have a SINGLE SUCCESSFUL RELATIONSHIP, so she has some emotion left towards the ML.
Let me us examine what these unsuccessful relationships usually contains, holding hands, going on dates, dinners, movies, kissing, sex, sleeping next to each other after sex etc etc.

So, all the times she is doing all that with multiple other men, you are saying she still has lingering feelings for ML.
If that is true, she basically played with all those other men. Why would she even get angry at her last boyfriend when she herself was carrying torch for ML?

Just to show how silly that theory is, show me a single drama where the reverse happened?
The ML has many relationships, unsuccessful ones while the FL just stays put.
Since these fictional dramas, written by writers, there must be at least one drama out there in the Kdrama world where the FL did not move on and ML tries to move on by having sex with many women...

I asked others to take the same challenge and they failed,

why not ask me to give example of similar FL and ML's and I will gladly share examples of Kdramas, many just from this year alone.


It;s funny how in all these Kdramas and Cdramas, it's almost always the ML who has the incredible emotions for FL where other women don't even exist in his life & in those same dramas, the FL would have lot of men around them.

Again, your gas-lighting confirms that what I said about the drama and the stupid writers of this stupid drama is spot on.
Most of the ML's written by these writers are so fake.
even a fly farts near them, they will have a trauma that will make them bleed from their mouth/other holes, when ever they are near a woman. Don't ask for logic, it just happens. The only cure is the FL and no one else.
