Ep. 26 She never seems to run out of arrows and he can take two or more with his sword at a time. That's why they are our HEROES! Time for revenge. The Prime Minister's plan blows up in his face. The he gets to do the Perp walk. The twisted Emperor is waiting for him to arrive for the showdown.
Ep. 25 Consumation. Is that what we've all been waiting for? It's always good to have love in your life. No doubt the morning-after glow will fade soon given what's ahead. The Empress and the Princess are deprived. Murong Yoa and the Prime Minister are depraved. Murong Yoa's dad is doing penance while hobling to see the Emperor, the Empress is enduring being ignored and the Emperor is seeing ghosts. None of them have a leg to stand on. These are all thorny issues.
Ep 24. First off I have to point out Murong Hua and his 'partial' foot, which is supposed to be the reason for all his venom over the years) doesn't seem to be bothering him at all. Second, it is of immense pleasure to see the red patch on the Prime Minister's face. It is not fading anytime soon. Ep. 25 It's all about father/son estrangement. His father didn't kill his mother but he might as well have as all he was interested in was confining her and grooming his son to be as vile an emperor as he has become. '
Ep. 23 First prince mourns the homoerotic 'brotherhood' he had with his buddy who has revealed his unending hatred. The Prime Minister kicks off against the Emperor screaming out his longheld grudge while the Emperor does a great job at acting unconscious. There a bitter pill to be swallowed (it always amazes me how they expect people in comas to injest these huge speres).
Ep. 22 some of these plotlines are getting too ridiculous. Murong Yao is holding a grudge since he got a foot injury as a little boy. Isn't he a general? Aren't they a respected family? Why the need for revenge? How could a sane person pretend to be a 'brother' for all those years? Even his father/uncle didn't have any idea.
Only on ep. 9 and she's still seriously clueless. He's still trying to uncover the 'plot' against his life and her life. Are they linked? Young Jing Shi and his two sidekicks must have more up their sleeves. Looking at the score, it must get better at some point. As an aside, they both seem to do a lot of eating which I enjoy watching. The colorful dishes are a little over the top, but then no royalty eats at my house.
Ep 6. Brother is desolate he can't stop his sister from marrying his enemy. Then he finds out just how enchanting enemies can be when drinks jars of Mother's Red with her and gets all flushed shining at her like the moon and then she decides his face is all soft and squishy .
Ep. 4 The disciples are stirring up some old memories. What the 'real' story behind the massacre the doctor saw the prince commit? Why is the enemy asking to send the princess for a marriage alliance in order to make peace? Given the Prince lost the war wouldn't they want their brave general who won the war back? What's putting me off is looking at the face smoothing of the main leads when everyone else looks normal.
Ep. 3 This really is sado/masochistic. Now she's whipping him and poking at his arrow wound while eating fruit with the left hand that was supposed to be disabled. He's dangling from a tree by his skinny arms with only his tippy toes touching the ground. Why is there blood running UP his arms? After revenge neckbiting they come to an agreement. He does look like a warmed over vampire.
Ep. 2 The prince is sadistic in the extreme. Whipping and poking at her injury. Then he puts salve on her back and tells her someone in her camp is trying to eliminate her. Meanwhile plenty of people are trying to eliminate him. He brings back his defeated army only to be stopped at the gate by the guy who's tried but failed to kill him. He orders the troops to remove their armour and their bare physiques could use a little working out. The prince gets a grip on the situation and get a head of himself.
Just started this and it's quite a different role for female lead that the character she played in Joy of Life. Interested to see how she'll measure up as a fierce fighter. After she and her foe get stitched up they have a pool party. She's lost her memory so he manages to make a fool out of her and after his troops arrive, the rabbit he was roasting seems to be going to waste. It looks juicy and delicious.
Just got to see the last episode with the proper subtitles.Shoa Hua was an admirable character full of determination and smarts. Found the ending rather underwhelming as far as the 'romance' was concerned. Shoa Hua looked decidedly matronly in the later episodes and Wen Zhi Qiu was so dapper that I just can't see them together. Er Nui's complicated arc in the drama was very satisfying and the actress did great job filling her pumps (shoes). Xiia Yuan and Zhou Yan were despicable villains, but every drama needs these for tension.
