Lovely review! Though I can't believe you disliked what most people loved at the first sight — CGI and costumes. I personally loved the CGI and the costumes a lot. The costumes also had detailings to theme which were really good. I didn't like their sets tho. The purple with multicolour theme was very bad on the eye.

Coming to the hair — well you can't expect anyone not to be very relatable, especially in a fantasy drama 🤣

As far as I remember, Yi City was the moving city and they didn't know about it's whereabouts. Which was clearly a mission for Bai Shuo and Fan Yue. They convinced the King to send invitations to the other Eternals and Demons. I don't really remember the mention of Bright Moon Palace being unknown. But yeah, people didn't know where the Demon King of BMP belonged to. But, there's also this thing that, Fan Yue did take in the Eternals and Demons under his care. While creating the protection barrier, many who were lurking by the Polar Region, noticed it and ran towards the bubble.

Xing Yue was already on the verge of her death. She used all her divine powers, along with Jing Yuan's to conceal the devil heart. And thus, she died completely. Whereas Jing Yuan had ripped off his divine mantle, a part of it roaming in the world freely. This when the devil heart showed itself, he got his divine energy + divine mantle (through FY) back. Zhen Yu retrieved Hidden Lord by uniting mirror, heart and the divine mantle of hidden lord (which is Chong Zhao). The villain was a deity himself. So he just wanted Xing Yue because he was mesmerized by her beauty and her strength. He wanted to marry her for that + he also wanted the divine bow which would've made him the most powerful deity.

Shouldn't they have different character posters? Like the ones posted here. In that case they'll have to create different posters one with each lead as the central focus🤔

I don't care if it's written by a man or not. But this is bad. Would've been understood if they had shown Huazi fight for herself and kick Wanghe out of her life. Even if they don't break the friendship, at least if she backs out from the romantic relationship, then it would've made sense. But given that they're the endgame, it's like "love is blind"

Exactly what I've been talking about for a time now!! Wanghe definitely has his own troubles with his career but it no way allows him a pass to be rude, mock and insult his friends. I HATED the scene where he said "She came to my door crying and begging" and at the same time he was boasting about "let her do what she wants. When she realizes she'll let go off it and when the time comes we'll help her. We'll not let her suffer or go poor". When she refused your proposal at her worst, she has not even hit the rock bottom yet — why would she rely on you? Especially when she herself knows and asks you to change your reckless behaviour. It baffles me how Wanghe changes his personality in the same episode. Whenever he's alone with Hua he's giving all heart eyes and singing songs. And then suddenly in the next scene he's back to being an a****le

the drama has 38 episodes as per IQIYI. It's already 24 episodes now. I don't think it's early to judge.
I agree this show is realistic and men of that time did take women's ambitions for granted BUT as a story's lead character and the way he boasts himself as a potential leader, i expect him to show basic decency. Constant insults, comparisons, downplaying his friends and then again seeking their help when required are NOT the traits I would like to see from the lead character (yeah well all the kids are lead but seems like XFH and WH are major ones). I would've rooted for redemption arc but the pace is too slow for it. With every passing episode he keeps blabbering more shit.
I don't want him to like XFH out of sympathy and guilt. I want him to see for the woman she is, and then change his ways for her

i don't believe in being delusional until and unless there's a slight chance of redemption which is actually out of ckt development and not some plot convenience. Wanghe and Fenghua as a ship is going to be the second most toxic ship i saw in cdramas (won't mention the first one here). Reason? Wanghe is undeserving of Fenghua. I hate it how his ckt keep going down with every episode. It's not like Xingchi's where the circumstances changed his personality to be even more cold and grumpy. Wanghe is just build and brought up like that.

He not only thinks very high of himself BUT he insults the people whom he calls his 'best friends' and 'blood related brothers'. As a kid? Ok, he was a child. As a teen? He was ambitious. As an adult? IT'S NOT BEING AMBITIOUS. IT REFLECTS YOUR PERSONALITY AND MANNERISM.

I genuinely feel the writing of the **love story** is very BAD. The dialogues "she went to Beijing for you. Women are not ambitious" made me SICK. And upon that, they add some more lines to it "Her diary had everything about you" to justify that she actually has no life apart from running behind him which is disgusting.

Worst part is that I cannot like Huazi anymore after the day she accepts him as her lover. Girl, RUN!! He can be your friend after redemption but not your lover/husband.

imo, as i said before, i prefer XFH to kick both men out and find a better man for her who can treat her better

i don't like how she is still attracted to him yk. he has been belittling her in front of his other friends for a long time now. he called her tacky, not ladylike, made fun of her braces and ofc that scene where he asked her to stay at home while encouraging siyi right in front of her. if i were in huazi's place, i would've NEVER had any romantic feelings for him. And i have faced this kinda situation in my life. my male friends used to make fun of my appearance and academic performances a lot of time but at the same we used to have fun whenever we talked about cartoons (mind you, i was a teen too). but i never felt even an ounce of feeling anything apart from friendship. i see them now and i still don't.

watched upto epi 18 and i don't like the sudden shift in the character arcs. suddenly all are so mature , except for the one who was actually mature (Xingchi). i hope they've got some more flashbacks to justify that. Coming to the romance, i don't like any cpl now. honestly, both the men were/are so irritating to an extent which i wouldn't consider as a mere 'flaw' to be ignored in a relationship. One was always criticizing her since childhood while the other is suddenly so aggressive (and jealous?!). These kinda flaws are natural. Agreed. But I wouldn't pursue any one of them, if i were given a chance. It feels like the romance is forced into a good friendship story. Would've been nice if there was a complete new character as Huazi's love interest (as a support role if not the lead)😭
