I saw an FMV for the drama with Life Goes On song - gotta say - they fit so well.
These MV's makes me want to rewatch the drama even though I'm in the process of rewatching it by myself and with a friend in another part...like what is going on?!
And @Syd that tumblr video you posted where it shows the parallel...I watch that everyday! Aigoo
I wanna know about it too. Since drama!WWX didn't die at Burial Mounds and he gave his core to JC, he should have…
I've never seen this before and I looove these OH MY GOD so cute. I legit lold at the rating one and LQ behind them XD Soooo adorable! Now I'm in the love with "nibbling cabbage" expression even more!
WOW so she's the original flute player behind Wuji. So beautiful and talented!
So when I saw the sudden news of The Wolf coming out, the first thing I thought of was XZ but then I thought omg I have to go to dramalist and mention to Joryenai about not loosing hope but here we are :) I was going to get the access for VIP but sadly they don't offer eng subtitles so I have to wait for the epiosdes with eng sub in the youtube channel. Once the thanksgiving break is here, I'll able to start watching it!
WOW so she's the original flute player behind Wuji. So beautiful and talented!
Thank you <3 I've added them to my list. Once I'm ready to start reading something else that's not related to MDZS like works, I will start with these :)
OMG I'm TOO EXCITED to type! Like HOW WHEN WHERE did this come out of nowhere?! Like no news no nothing and then jeez hit me harder than a truck... YUP I'm going to buy tencent premium just to watch this drama if they have english sub. Does anyone if they do? Please don't watch it in illegal websites if you can because that will not help the cast or anyone associated with the drama!

Of course! Part of the reason I love this novel/drama is because no matter how many times we read it or watch it, we keep finding 'hidden eggs'. Not to mention foreshadowing, symbolism, new reasoning!
You have no idea how much I love using "nibbling cabbage". I'm using it on conversation/contents that has nothing to do with CQL or MZDS XD
WOW so she's the original flute player behind Wuji. So beautiful and talented!
Yes I would love to get recommendations. One of my favorite hobby is to make a list along with reading (yeah I'm weird). It will be hard for me to move on from MXTX/cultivation/historical works for a loooong time but I'm all eyes and ears for good novels :)
WOW so she's the original flute player behind Wuji. So beautiful and talented!
It is really fascinating to see the resemblance between the characters. It's like they have their own essence but at the same time so many similarities. I don't know why I've never discovered the world of Wuxia before. It is genuinely very interesting.
Tbh I'm interested in all of XZ's drama because he really is a good actor who gives it all. I'm sure he gives it all for all the character he portrays and that's why I want to watch them, regardless of the other people in the drama, even though I have no idea who they are as I'm still relatively new to cdrama world.
For those who are interested in the dual cultivation aspect of wangxian: https://twitter.com/JiyONGINmark/status/1222403586182668288http://www.shivambu.in/sky-element/su-jok-therapy/tao/
That's the one of the things I loved about the novel. Apart from enjoying themselves while 'nibbling cabbage', I love how there's a reason behind it. Though even without that reason, they would be 'nibbling cabbage' all day long specially Lan Zhan XD
The beauty of this drama is that everyone can depict the characters emotions and actions and the relationship…
I believe everyone is entitled to their opinion. But I disagree with everything you mentioned. Because in no way it portrayed WWX as a perfect being! For example, Jiang Cheng choose his clan over his love for WWX and Wen clan whereas WWX chose Wen clan over his own clan and his brother. Now who is right and who is wrong? Because no one really answer that. If WWX was perfect, then everyone would answer what WWX was absolutely correct. But instead you see people who tries to understand it from both perspective.
As for his character development, I can write a whole essay but let me keep it short. The drama did a great job slowly unveiling WWX gradual but believable form. It's great to see a Wei Wuxian from his youthful days - his lively, unrestrained personality coupled with a staunchly loyal and fiercely protective heart. His childhood background, adoption into the Jiang family clan and his relationship with the Jiang siblings are some of the most relatable and emotional arcs for me. The love he has for his adopted family and the decisions and actions.
The evolution of his character after coming back from the Burial Mound was also another huge part. The change in his personality and approach were very believably executed. It showed a complex mix of survival desperation-hatred-revenge-creative exploration.
As for intriguing antagonists, I believe it depends on your definition of intriguing. I personally loved the antagonists in this drama because it showed how people can become product of their environment. I loved how the plot showed the parallel between WWX, Xue Yang and Jin Guangyao. All were street children/orphans, were hated by the world and had their men in white or the lights of their lives. Depending on how many 'people' they had in life, it affected their development. All were pretty bent over something. WWX with his selflessness of steel, JGY over achieving his mother's dying wish and XY on getting revenge against the world. Nurture is very present with them, especially XY.
And if none of these antagonist really WWX. But if you're referring to other clans, that's exactly what the story was trying to show. For example, take Sect Master Yao. He wasn't a major character but he was one of the most annoying one. Sadly, in reality, many people live like him, even ourselves.
Yao Sect Master is more similar to that person in society who is keen to express opinions irresponsibly on any current events that everyone is talking about. He does not necessarily hold the power of life and death, but he can influence the direction of public opinion within a certain range, and kill people with a single mouth. That's exactly what his character did.
I have to ask what makes this drama good? I am not into bl so can you enjoy it even if you are not into that?
The beauty of this drama is that everyone can depict the characters emotions and actions and the relationship according to themselves. You don't have to be nto bl to enjoy this drama.
It has so many other factors beside Wangxian that makes this drama an unforgettable piece (even though they're big part of it). It’s a story of self-sacrifice and betrayal, abandonment and retribution, guilt and forgiveness, and the acceptance of responsibility for actions. Choosing to stand together for love and for what is right no matter the consequences; living with regret, and living despite regret.
I've watched a whole bunch of dramas yet this is the only drama where I can't skip the intro.
When I started watching it the first time, right from the first episode, I couldn't skip it. Even as I'm rewatching the drama now, I just can't skip it. Till this day, it still manages to give me goosebumps (not that all the other soundtrack doesn't) ^.^
I wanna know about it too. Since drama!WWX didn't die at Burial Mounds and he gave his core to JC, he should have…
And here's another theory I somehow believe: Strictly speaking for the novel, WWX and LWJ can still perform other cultivation techniques (meditation, practicing martial arts, fasting, playing their music, etc) and I'm sure they do so all the time. But it also happens to be that "nibbling cabbage" is also a big part of their cultivation life and accelerates their power growth even more through the constant exchange of Yin and Yang energy between them. (WWX has abundance of Yin energy due to his demonic cultivation, while LWJ is full of Yang energy as a disciplined, virtuous Hanguang Jun. They balance each other out.)
This form of dual cultivation is especially beneficial for WWX, because MXY's golden core was weak, tiny, and never developed properly, so WWX needs all the boost he can get. Most cultivators start developing their core at a very young age, so WWX has to keep up. Thankfully Hanguang Jun is there and is all too happy to help him. They get to make love and boost their power at the same time. It's the best of all worlds.
And this has been effective because in the last extra episode of the audio drama (which was appearently supervised by MXTX), WWX can be heard carrying Suibian again.
WOW so she's the original flute player behind Wuji. So beautiful and talented!
Allright so I'm saving all these links for future when I start the novel ^.^ I can definitely feel your excitement here. I love reading novels where it can evoke intense feelings. That's why I loved MDZS. To be able to make readers feel variety types of intense feelings just through words, is what you call a powerful novel.
Since I follow the updates from the CQL cast and their dramas, I saw the post about Sha Po Lang because of Song Ji Yang being in it.
OMG don't say that. I hope The Wolf comes out soon....and his three other dramas! Hopefully 2021 will be his year :)
Haha I just went back and saw the all the grammatical and spelling errors I made XD That's exactly how you'd know I'm over the 'moon' excited because my sense goes out the window along with my typing skill. But thank you seriously! I can't wait to revisit and discover more details of wangxian scene with these new found information ^_^
And @Syd that tumblr video you posted where it shows the parallel...I watch that everyday! Aigoo
