Since there is a second part of the novel where they are dating, my hope lies in that! I hope that the series is a hit in Japan as well, so that they will be thinking of doing a season 2!
If they inform us there will be a season 2, then there would be something to look forward to!

I often read concerning Japanese BLs that there are no proper kisses or that they kiss like a "fish". I can understand that peoplke want to see more "true", passionate kisses, but Japanese culture is different and we have to accept that! Especially in this BL, I actually don't really miss the kiss so far because we got so many huggs that feel real and passionate. One can see the love of Watari for Hioki. If we are lucky we get one in the last episodes, but if not, it is still such a warm-hearted series!

Even Hioki doesn't know that he is already married to Watari! 🤣🤣🤣

One thing I want to add:
I love the three friends of Hioki and the jealous stare that Watari always give. I like the balance of possessiveness and shyness / insecureness of Watari around Hioki.
And when the girl said that she likes Watari because he is above possessiveness and jealouy, I laughed so hard!
Watari's confession was cute last episode, and Hioki's is as cute and emotional this episode!
So far perfect 8 episodes!

And the "Itsumen" of course is a ironic word play and allude to "Ikkemen" (hot guys)! I laughed so hard at the scene!

Not only will I be sad when the series is over, but also that I won't be able to enjoy your weekly post! 😭😭😭

Such a lovely episode again, full of emotion and confession in the end! Not only the main leads, but the wingmen are such lovable charakters! 😭😭😭Only two epidodes left ... it will be hard for me to move on to other series!

One of the best BLs of 2025, next to "School Trip". This series unifies so many different genres in a good way, I like Kataoka's self-irony and Odajimas reserved attitude. I can feel the development of the connection between the two!
Maybe my only complaint, I'd wished that the series had had more episodes, the interaction between them was fabulous and heartwarming!

I had high hopes for this series, but unlike others, I wasn't too fond it. It was okay, a good watch, but something was lacking. While others were complaing that it is strange that Chiaki didn't recognize his own idol, for me it wasn't such a big issue, it is fiction afterall. BUT: my main problem is: For me personally there wasn't a real connection between the main leads, I didn't feel it. The premise of this show was there, but there was no true development.
So all in all, an okay show, but for me no real reason to rewatch.

I would recommend to wait ... or else to wait a WHOLE week for the last episodes will be torture! 😂😅 😂😅 --- No serious, watch it! SO good and heartwarming!

We are obsessed with the series like Watari is with Hioki! 😂😂😂

This series has so many layers and subtle indications, scenes that you only understand later when the episodes progress.
The very first scene of ep 1 - one can only understand when watching ep 7. It is the crucial scene where Watari borrows his pen to this girl - and moments later for the first time Hioki's and Watarai's eyes meet. At this moment Hioki gets aware of Watarai's kindness. It all starts at THIS moment. Hioki tells his friends his impression and by chance Watari overhears this.
And in the first episodes one believes that Hioki is rather the one having no friends and being lonely whereas it is actually Watari who feels so.
And there are so many other subtle things that I adore about this series.
So many cliches, and yet full of depth and at the same time warm-heartening.

Same! I watch all kinds of Japanese series, but love BL the most! What I am doing right now while waiting for Sunday is rewatching all 7 eps! 😂😂😂 Like I have rewatched them in the last weeks countless times!😂😂😂

Absolutely beautiful what you observed concerning the gossip scene! So true! And that's what i like about this series ... step by step, moments that we have seen in earlier episodes make now so much more sense. And I absolutely agree that Watari was actually the more lonesome person, not Hioki who is much more sociable and doesn't bother too much about what others say.
Such a wonderful series with all the little pearls ... !

If you are looking for wholesome BLs I can recommend you "My love mix-up", "Dining Table", "Minato's Laundromat"! These are my faves BL, now along with "School trip"! But there are many more Japanese BLs that are beautiful!

Same here! Read the novel also and I love how close the series is to it. The story itself is nothing groundbreaking, but the way it was written and directed is simply beautiful. It has so much rewatch value (what often other series doesn't have). This show will be among my faves next to my most loved BL series as "Dining table".

I am usually the same, I don't like flashbacks at all, but I LOVED this one here! All the ties get together, we get to know Wataris perspective and his shy side which I adore. Usually flashbacks are ONLY flashbacks, but the structure here that they choose is wonderful as they filled the flashbacks with new scenes that we didn''t know yet. For me it makes sense and because of the flashbacks, the warmth of this series increased.
