This article was really well done and definitely made me more curious about his movies! I stumbled upon All About…
"Girly mush of goo," yes! That is exactly the right terminology for what happened to me, too. It's crazy, because I definitely wasn't expecting it. I keep hoping for another romance from Mr. Shin too, but it seems as though he's more into atypical story-lines than anything else. As good as he is as a leading man, it's a shame~
And not at all. Thank you so much for stopping to read my article. Everyone's kind feedback has meant a lot to me~
Absolutely love this article about one of my top 5 favorite Korean actors. I discovered him after his tour de…
Thank you so much for reading! I'm always happy to meet someone else with as much passion for a shared favorite. Brain was my second drama with Mr. Shin, but like you, I couldn't stop myself from tracking him down afterwards. Your admin is so lucky though, wow! I'm sure he was worth the trip to the set, he tends to be *so* good to fans.
I have actually never seen this video, but it's adorable. Makes me have Dr. Lee feelings all over again, haha.
Great article, thanks. I had no idea he had been in so many movies! So far I have seen his dramas except Harvest…
Not at all! Thank you for reading, friend. It does seem odd, doesn't it? Mr. Shin's one of those actors one could almost miss, since he takes such unusual and erratic projects. Yet he tends to work in at least 2 films a year :o I hope you have a good experience with your first forays into his movies~ They've each something interesting to see.
WOW!! AWESOME!! DAEBAK ARTICLE!! I haven't written a stalking guide article before and i was meditating how to…
That is much too kind of you! Thank you so much for your words. I hope to see your Stalker Guide soon~ These are some of my favorite articles on MDL after all.
Guns and Talks seems a great starting point; it's got all those famous and familiar faces, and despite that Mr. Shin really stands out despite it being one of his first films. Glad to hear you're enjoying Mr. Back and Harvest Villa, though~ He's great in comedy, and I'm glad he can work in them more these days.
This was a great article, I wish I could write as eloquently as you when I write stalkers guides. It was great…
Thank you so much for your kind words. I am glad to hear my guide has had its intended effect, and that your interest in Shin Ha Kyun has increased. Also, definitely agree with Ginger, Brain is a must!
The movie "Save the green planet" was disturbing for me to be honest. Not because of him, but because…
Save The Green Planet was a strange one, right? Many of his films are unusual in some way, but I feel like that was definitely the craziest of the bunch, haha. Mr. Shin definitely comes across as a bona fide performer, though. He's so professional~

Oh, not at all! Believe me when I say that you convey your thoughts very well; your reviews are always informative, emotional, and fun to read, which makes them very helpful indeed. It can be difficult to write about one's feelings, though. I constantly struggle with that myself, especially with the more obscure emotions. Some things are easier experienced than described, ne?
There's still this indescribable feeling I get whenever I think about this series, probably in no small part to Nakai-san's excellent performance. Like you wrote, his eyes really say it all--more than words might, haha.
Delighted to hear how much you enjoyed this after all, Ana~ I love how you describe many things about Vessel of Sand and found myself nodding along with your points. I really do think this is one of those J-dramas everyone should see once. It's just exceptional.
No, I don't think there will be. The ending seems to suggest that, while these characters are at peace choosing family and life, others continue to struggle in the same way; it's something that will go on and on. Since this series was part horror: there's this long-standing tradition in horror films to make the villain either resurrect or go on terrorizing others despite being defeated. The possibility of an accomplice or a copycat would match nicely with that, ne?
Oh, this actress was excellent in Beyond the Clouds. I became very attached to her character over the course of the episodes, and felt she had serious chemistry with Yoon Kye Sang. I wouldn't mind seeing her again soon; I had no idea who the leads were in The Legendary Witch, but the synopsis definitely appealed to me.
A very nice Stalker's Guide, thank you for sharing! I got to proofread this in the editing stage and found it impressive then as well~ c:
An exceptional summation of this fabulous taiga drama, Bright! There are so many reasons to love it, and you've touched upon them all beautifully. It's one of those wonderful historicals, I think, that has such a wide scope almost anyone can watch it and enjoy the ride.
This is another really great film review~ You summed up my feelings about this film exactly, right down to that questionable second half. But it definitely was so much fun seeing Donnie Yen and Kaneshiro Takeshi in one place~
I don't really know what to think about the ending...(+The -extreme- fighting scene at the end didn't really fit…
I felt the ending symbolized the "killing" of the woman inside Ji Wook; the intense violence served as a metaphor for how hard people in this situation fight to be recognized as they wish to be, though society doesn't allow that easily. But when we see him at the end, though he's remained male and is set to be wed--he's still lying to himself and everyone else. The woman inside of him isn't dead, just buried again. The lifted pinky is supposed to send that across, but >_< I wish that could have been portrayed differently, even so.
Excellent review, Reise! :) The church scene (their dialogue) was also memorable for me (the witty parallels between…
Thanks so much for reading, Gea~
Mm! I felt the same. That scene actually made me tear up because Cha Seung Won gave such an excellent reaction. Sometimes it's hard to remember how painful the transgender experience is, and this film did a great job of portraying that.
