I may or may not begin calling him Caostiltskin in private. XD And yes, that was Zhou Yu at the grave.
Peter seems to star often, but many of his projects are modern or go unsubbed (like his Butterfly Lovers series ;A;). From what I can tell, Le Jun Kai, Ring Ring Bell, Summer's Desire, The Young Warriors, and Assasinator Jing Ke are all translated. I've already seen Summer's Desire; Peter produced, sang for, and starred in it, but his character (while magnetic) is a little tricky to like initially.
Also saw Sophie's Desire and agree! He was so sweet and cute.
Will It Snow At Christmas starts strong, but the reviews are right; it's a total mess after episode 10. The leads are amazing, too, so it's a shame. Medical Top Team is a solid medical drama, also with a fantastic cast; unfortunately, sometimes I can't remember what happens in the episodes each week. It's good, but not great.

Finally caught up, woo! Though I love Peter Ho in this role, Lu Bu just makes me sad at this point. He has all the outer workings of a great hero, but lacks desperately in brains and perceptive power. Watching him split slowly with his adviser was so frustrating.
I'd like to see Sun Quan too. He and the emperor seem to be of an age, so definitely adult by now. It was exciting to see Zhou Yu appear by Sun Ce, though; hopefully his role expands soon, because I'm curious about him from other Three Kingdoms film adaptations (like Red Cliff).
Liu Bei definitely has the patience of a saint. I don't know how he doesn't just snap and start strangling people, haha. Love your imagery though; it'll stick every time I see him from now on.
I'm attached to Cao Cao's sarcastic chuckle, too. You know the one. Sometimes when a scene cuts to him, and he's doing it, I can't help but laugh. XD

Glad to hear you could find it! But oh my gosh, I hope your internet connection is strong too. Downloading historical dramas takes a lot of fortitude from the entire computer, ne? XD
Galileo has a fun dynamic, definitely. You may have already seen it, but Control (with Fujiki Naohito) has a similar feeling between the leads. The cases aren't quite as good as Galileo though, and it's difficult not to compare the two (Fujiki-san even plays a professor, for instance). But I'll definitely never look at jam buns the same way again, haha.
Ah, do you like the Reply series? Somehow I've still not seen 1997, despite hearing nothing but good things about it. People seem to be going wild over the romance in 1994, though.

Hello! Thanks so much for the friend request. How are you enjoying your current dramas? :)

I hope you can find the subs with the travelogues at the end of the episodes translated. They often added a whole new dynamic to each, and were delightfully informative!
I have to admit that it irks me when a project is dropped as well. My wait on Yakou Kanransha is due to such a situation; people are having to transcribe it, just like with Ryomaden. Why stop right at the end, for that matter? Ugh, people, I swear. XD
That's understandable. I actually avoid singers as actors, but sometimes they sneak up on me. For instance, with Fukuyama-san: I knew him as Ryoma first, but kept encountering his singing in other dramas (such as Tonbi). Are you enjoying the cases in Galileo so far? They can be pretty unique.

Ah, it has been some time since I checked in with you on Three Kingdoms. Are you still enjoying it? Somehow I keep falling behind on episodes (probably has something to do with being bad at balancing multiple shows, haha).
I just watched a film with Feng Shao Feng, and it was actually startlingly good. Been battling with what to rate it since, though. @_@
As to Three Kingdoms, so much of the behavior in these past episodes has been disappointing me. Especially Lu Bu (you did warn me, haha!), but what happened with Zhang Fei losing the city? Just ugh, haha.
I was just thinking about this phenomenon the other day. In my case, it usually happens the other way (an actor or actress exhibits potential, but then disappoints me in another role). There are also examples where I'm unwilling to encounter a person again should the first impression be bad enough.
Ji Chang Wook might be the only time I've experienced a "double take." Something made me dislike him in Warrior Baek Dong Soo, but his improvement from there to Five Fingers was no joke. It may be like your run-in with rookie-era Vanness; sometimes an actor just needs time and practice to change your mind. :)

That's really strange! I recall some turbulence with the subbing project near the end, but eventually someone transcribed the final few episodes from the Hawaiian broadcast. If you use softsubs, I think they might still be floating around somewhere. Unfortunately, I can't be sure (I watched the series some time ago now). Because I've been thinking of rewatching it, should I find anything, I'll let you know. :)
Yep! Somehow, I enjoyed the second one better. Even to the end, I think the atmosphere was better in the first, but there were major improvements between the two. My only major gripe was the obligatory Arashi song tied into the series; it didn't feel all that suitable at all (though their track for Maou was awesome).
I actually like Fukuyama-san as a singer, too, haha. It's wild how talented he is in both music and acting.

It's funny you should say so. My friend was watching another lengthy historical alongside Prince of Lan Ling; she also became distracted by it, haha.
Glad to hear you're still enjoying both. Queen Seon Duk is one of my favorites! I remember becoming entirely too invested in certain characters, like Alcheon and Yushin. XD

Oh, that sounds like a difficult decision indeed. Though if you're having trouble deciding, either path must be attractive. Hopefully you can choose the best one in the end. Good luck!
You have more discipline than me, haha. Each time I move to finish the other 2013 dramas on my list, the older crowd proves to be too alluring. Actually, today I completed The Quiz Show 2; after Kazoku Game, I'd known Sakurai Sho was talented, but now I'm doubly impressed. He even had me shaking in some pivotal scenes late in the series.
Ah, are you starting the first Galileo? It's really great! The chemistry between "detectives" is the best -- and well, Fukuyama Masaharu is a personal favorite.
Three Kingdoms is nearly flawless so far. The episodes are short and concise, but the story is elegant and air-tight. Acting is the same way. I just got to the point where Zhou Yun is introduced, and I'm hooked.
I would say I enjoyed the drama although there were some moments that I feel the story is very typical and cannot…
Definitely fell in love with Yu Wen Yong. I'd even consider him one of the better characters in 2013, and there have been many excellent ones.

Ah, forgive me if I've already asked or it's out of line, but what is your profession? :o
I have unfortunately never seen Wallace yet, but he keeps popping up in series I'm interested in (such as Swordsman, Love in the Forlorn City). Was his performance quite good? I might pick up one of these while waiting for the subs for Yakou Kanransha to be fully released.
As to Quiz Show 2, you'll probably enjoy it. Though the atmosphere is better in the first (mostly because one doesn't know what to expect), I think the more solid answers to questions posed by the series makes up for it.

Ah, thank you so much for the friend request! Somehow it never occurred to me that I hadn't sent one before, haha.
Now I really want to watch this!!! But I'm watching so many dramas at the moment that it will be hard to squeeze…
@Archania Thank you so much for your kind comment! Honestly, if you found the quality good, it's because my friend and I have a very compatible style. Without her, I don't think this article would have ever been written. We were also quite careful with detail, though we often wanted to add more; with dramas based in history, it can be difficult to avoid spoilers.
Hopefully you (and cheza7307 as well) really enjoy this series! :)
Exactly what I was looking for~!! I currently have an obsession with chinese period dramas for some reason...…
That's how I'm feeling at the moment too! :)
Xiao Dong has a reasonable amount of screen time for a supporting character. I found his involvement very satisfying, and if memory serves, his role is actually somewhat bigger than that of George Hu.

Ah, no problem! Hopefully, you're taking care of your health during these busy times. Nothing is worse than being sick too, ne? I also noticed you seemed to enjoy Vigilantes in Masks! Would you recommend it? These types of dramas are calling my name lately.
In Sealed With a Kiss, it's about half and half. The premise and Hawick Lau make me want to continue, but the annoying elements are bogging me down. It isn't terrible, but my rule to never skip scenes might be changing very soon. XD
You know, The Quiz Show 2 actually feels like a remake of the first. The contestants and premise are very similar, but more solid and better explained. But much as I like Sakurai-san, Katagiri Jin had the uncanny marionette-like act down too perfectly.
Thanks for doing an article recommending this amazing work to other people to watch and form their opinions later.…
Ah, we scored the same! My enjoyment stood at 10, but (because I felt I'd lost objectivity) I ended up dropping that to 9 for MDL. Something about this show is just...likable, haha.
