Ah, a 10? Everyone that has seen it seems to like it, so that really boosts my motivation.
I still need to see God's Quiz, but I really liked TEN (though the first season marginally more). The other OCN series I've seen is The Virus, but the script got a little messy near the end. Romance in Vampire Prosecutor surprised me, but in a good way! I think the possible couple has a very excellent dynamic. You said it was expanded in the second season, right? I'm looking forward to that.

Oh my. Is Lee Bo Young that bad? I've never had the occasion to see her, but am worried now; she's starred in Man of Equator with Uhm Tae Woong, whom I definitely can't resist.
Ayano Go has been working a lot this year too, seemingly in pretty strong dramas. Talk about good choices. Saikou no Rikon is repelling me a little for the same reason, though I hope it's less of a romantic comedy than a quirky study on divorce and its circumstance.
Against expectation, I'm enjoying Vampire Prosecutor much more than the other OCN offerings to date. The lead has wonderful charisma, the team is solid, and the cases are hard-hitting. And the vampire aspect is totally not overdone, which has me ridiculously happy.

I especially adore American and English film from the 1960's. There was something of a "golden age" of acting around that time.
I am not as familiar with classic foreign movies, but Kurosawa is definitely the obvious and good choice. I've also heard good things about The Human Condition, Harakiri, and Woman in the Dunes from those better informed than I.

I know exactly what you mean; watching old films is something of a hobby of mine. You mean the scenes where there's clearly a fake car + a moving picture behind, right? After a while I found that quirk somewhat cute, but it definitely detracts from the realism of the film. Story is definitely very important in things which are low-tech or low-budget, though.

Nicholas is definitely eye candy, and fits so many images believably as well! There's nothing better than a pretty actor with skills.
I actually dislike age gaps when the female is older, which doesn't reflect on the lady so much as the man. Somehow I have a very hard time seeing very young men in a romantic light (and by extension, love lines). This is probably why I Hear Your Voice and I will never happen, haha.
Ah, is Kurokochi that good? I can't wait to start it, then! I have my eyes on Yakou Kanransha and Saikou no Rikon right now. The second is not normally to my taste, but Eita is just wonderful, so....

Ah, no problem, thanks for asking! At the moment, I'm a clerk at a clothing store. It's nothing special but fine for now.
I have never seen Time Between Dog and Wolf, unfortunately. Some time ago it was the plan, but I'm slightly put off by Lee Jun Ki after Two Weeks (I had debated giving it a 6, rather than the 7 eventually given). He's still a fine actor, but my experience with him has been stronger in non-action roles. Rondo does sound good! And I noted Sato Ryuta in the supporting cast. Somehow I've always found him likable.
Love your analysis of Tae Joo! Did you also enjoy Go Soo in his interpretation of the character? Writing as well as those who molded this script would be amazing indeed. I would even settle for more fine dramas such as this, though I believe they've worked on several other projects to date.
Many of these have wonderful casts, but somewhat difficult premises. None really jump out at me; perhaps I'll take time to catch up on the many interesting ones from this previous round of dramas? Though Prime Minister has potential, and I also rather like Sun Gyun....

No worries on that account. Lately I have a lot of trouble with *any* drama from before 2008, though not so with movies. It's probably worse with "modern" stories and dated fashions though; somehow I'm dragged totally from the story.
They continue to utilize fake backgrounds even in modern Chinese dramas, I've noticed. Apparently they look much better than they once did, though I don't care for the shaky CG at times.

Ah, I actually know Nicholas Tse by name! He's caught my attention once or twice, especially in Bodyguards and Assassins. When I checked his filmography, it seems Tse works often with other big names, so branching out won't be so difficult after all. Very glad to hear Shaolin is good though! It sounds a rather unique approach to the subject matter.
My favorite types of romance tend to follow the same path, but age gaps (older man, younger female) are also too fun. I guess I'm kind of getting my wish here, too, though it could be under better starting circumstances, ne? XD
I saw you started Kurokochi! Though I'm waiting for a bit more to be released first, it's wonderful to hear it's good. I rather like Nagase Tomoya, though admittedly in doses.
It pleases me to find someone else enjoying Medical Top Team. Honestly, I don't find it boring whatsoever; it's a pleasant change from the sometimes sugary (yet still enjoyable) Good Doctor. This has a more realistic feeling, coupled with more complex surgeries and stronger hospital politics.
As you've put it, a certain love for medicine is a must. This isn't a romance or an idol romp (though we have one or two around). And I might be laughing just a tiny bit (because Doctors Han and Park really do have dynamic chemistry, haha).

Haha, it sounds like it would turn out that way. I hope you can continue to meet people who can enrich your work~
My life is a little less interesting; I work, go to class, spend time with friends, and watch dramas in my spare time. At the moment, I'm coming down off an amazing experience with Prince of Lan Ling and exploring Chinese dramas as a whole. Ah, Time Between Dog and Wolf! I'd forgotten Jung Kyung Ho was in it.
Perhaps I made a typo. I was referring to Choi Min Jae in regards to my comments about Golden Empire, not Tae Joo. That character (Tae Joo), on the other hand, I felt always possessed a harsh, pragmatic side. Despite that he was pushed into darker behavior, I feel his inability to stop is a good measure of character. The Choi family was certainly an institution of evil, breeding fractured people, but if he had taken it down...the cycle would have only restarted.

Oh, thank you! The Empress and Warriors is readily available to me, so I'll add it to my list. As to Infernal Affairs, I may just watch them all since my interest in the cast is widening. After completing Detective Dee, I may turn try to widen my scope with Andy's other recent works too (such as Shaolin and A Simple Life).
The relationship in Sealed With a Kiss does bother me, but it makes for a fascinating change in pace from others. It would be a lie if I said the impact wasn't a little shorted by weakness in the leading lady's performance, though. Very glad to finally be introduced to the second male lead -- the conflict seems to be kicking off well.

I just started Secret today. The first episode had a slow lurch forward, but hooked me when the conflict began. Definitely happy I waited to start now! The cast for Empress Ki is indeed very good, ne? Joo Jin Mo and Chang Ji Wook are apparently fantastic leads for Ji Won to work with, so it sounds exciting.
Ah, you started Deja Vu then! I rarely have anyone to chat about Taiwanese dramas with. Hopefully it doesn't become too frustrating; the couple was so cute!

That sounds lovely! Do you ever find working with and meeting such people intimidating? In the same position, I feel that forming contacts would be most difficult for me -- despite the importance of doing so. But hopefully that co-production materializes indeed. Good luck!
Ah, so you have worked on one then? Closed room types are interesting, especially done well; for instance, I recently saw a rather good example called 44 Inch Chest. Though I'm not sure it could be called a "true" one, since there were scenes depicting other locations here and there.
In Golden Empire, something had me rooting for Min Jae. There were times he could be genuinely despicable, but his fevered drive was also riveting. I also found his end a touch more satisfying than the others; when he swore to the portrait he would return, he totally meant it. And of course, Son Hyun Joo was excellent in his portrayal.

That has been my experience with Chinese dramas so far: a total loss of objectivity. Perhaps it's because I'm so unfamiliar with them or that the casts are often so likable. Condor Heroes actually sounds like a lot of fun, and I'm a fan of the female lead; maybe I'll give it a shot before the newer one begins.
I have actually never read the novels. Though I must agree that regardless of how the adaptation rolls, you're right. As long as people are being influenced to see the source material, everything's well and good.

I've been hearing a lot about Secret, so I plan to pick it up soon. It seems like one of those shows where waiting week to week would drive you crazy, haha. Initially Marry Him If You Dare caught my interest too, but the more I hear about it the more likely it looks like I may pass.
I'm personally watching a lot of things from the last couple years, while I follow Medical Top Team and Deja Vu. Empress Ki also looks good, but I'll probably wait a few more weeks to start that -- since it ends in May.

It does seem like that right? Somehow, Japanese movies are more difficult to track down (though the classic era ones are just about everywhere). Ah, is he? See, this is why I've needed your guidance on this film genre. XD Hopefully I won't be as lost soon.
It's funny that you bring up Andy Lau though, because a lot of his films have piqued my interest recently.
I've already had worries about this actress, but sincerely hoped for improvement in future episodes. The disparity in talent between her and Lau is almost like a valley, though his ability seems to lift hers somewhat. The business aspect and background for Shao Qian is really fascinating though! It's giving me nostalgia for Golden Empire in a way, haha.

Ah, no problem. Hopefully the festival went smoothly? It seems like a lot of fun, as well as beneficial for someone in the industry.
Honestly, I love hearing about your work. The entire process sounds riveting, and it isn't often one can talk to someone with such insight. Horror sounds like it would be difficult, though I think a "closed room" psychological thriller might be fun. How often do you use your own work as opposed to adaptation, by the way?
Happy to hear you enjoyed Golden Empire! I found it one of this year's overlooked gems, though we're in total agreement about the ending. There was some talk of extending the series; the fact that plan didn't materialize might be a blessing or a shame, though one can never tell. What series do you plan on tackling next? I've been on a Chinese drama high after loving Prince of Lan Ling, haha.
