I know right? Honestly, my tastes seem to be widely different from the majority of users on this site. Most every time others seem to fall head over heels for something, my brain goes "What? This?!" It's good to chat with someone that can appreciate something like Golden Empire, haha.

Actually, talking about this, I must agree. Perhaps the writers could have balanced the mental decay a bit more, building up the suicide. Go Soo really pulled it off in any case; the rage and desperation he exuded in the final stretch were almost shockingly real.

The cinematography in Woman is pretty stunning also. How was it with Mother?

I'll definitely let you know how I feel about Tonbi. It does seem as though Japanese dramas have quite a bit less exposure in general, right? They can be more understated, no one does sentiment like Japan. It's a real shame.

Mm, I plan on picking it up soon! At the moment I'm working through Mother and considering another Korean title to start. Though with my current strain of good luck with Japanese dramas, perhaps I should just go for it sooner than later.

Ah, you wrote about Hanzawa Naoki as well! I'm so sad it's over. We seem to have run into the same low after finishing it and Golden Empire around the same time, haha.

My last viewing of Woman ended around episode 3. It has this quiet intensity about it, very slice of life yet emotionally engaging. Though the subject matter is slightly different, I wouldn't doubt it has the same "feeling" as Mother.

Ah, don't worry. You did well, and without your passion for Tonbi I probably wouldn't have taken interest in it. :)

Thank you so much for reading that review. I hope you do pick it up someday! It might really catch your attention.

That's good to hear. I always love hearing that a drama I've taken interest in is good. Gives me something to look forward to.

I know right? My viewing of Golden Empire was a marathon, so I only stopped for basic functions. It was quite the roller coaster, haha.

Because they continually compared Yoon Seol and Tae Joo to Hitler and Eva Braun, I anticipated suicide. It played out differently than expected (I thought they'd go together), but Tae Joo did unhinge as he was being cornered. I felt he had also been cowed by many years with the Choi family, unwittingly becoming a caged tiger.

Coupled with the betrayal of Tae Joo's final shreds of principle and the loss of his lover, the location of the suicide feels poetic. Where better to leave than the place he spread his father's ashes and the bills from his first big haul? Going back to where it all began and ending it.

Admittedly, it was a less fitting ending than Min Jae was given. He was true to himself to the end, persistent and hungry to win.

Suspicious Housekeeper doesn't initially raise any interest, but Top Medical Team is right down my alley. It looks like an action-y medical drama and the leads comprise some of my favorites.

Same, definitely. Do you ever feel like there's a certain time for a drama? Occasionally I'll wait to watch something based on whatever I've just completed.

Wow! It definitely took me a while with Queen Seon Duk, though I was watching with someone else. What's more about Lee Soon Shin is that Kim Myung Min plays the lead, so at least a good performance is guaranteed. Finding the series is a little difficult too, on top of the length >_<

Yeah~ Hanzawa Naoki was pretty amazing. I sort of want a sequel now, haha.

Ah, I really loved Golden Empire. Though it initially was relatively confusing (the terms aren't as accessible as in Hanzawa Naoki), once you get acclimated the action is riveting. :)

Though I've found my taste niche, I have to admit hype does still occasionally trap me. One stunning example occured when my friend and I watched Queen In Hyun's Man together. She loved it, while I've seldom been as disappointed.

Ah, I'm making some headway with Woman! Judging by your tastes, you probably will really enjoy it. Tonbi is actually a high priority, especially after your fine review. It also pleased me to find Fukuyama Masaharu performed the theme for it; he's such a great actor and singer, both.

It's funny, but Hanzawa Naoki really did have a great ending. Your wishes seemed to have worked, haha~

I'm actually looking at Secret actively. It has potential, but I'd like to let it run for a few episodes before I begin. As to Heirs, it's probably very against my taste.... I can't seem to get excited for it.

Isn't that weird? When I first started watching drama some years ago, I preferred highschool romances. After several more years of break, I wanted romantic comedies. As I continue, I want darker shows with intense twists and family stories. How tastes change, haha.

It's good to hear you still enjoy Alone in Love! Hopefully it'll stay satisfying until the very end. I noticed that you also added Hanzawa Naoki to your plan to watch! It's a great choice, perhaps one of the top Japanese dramas of the year.

Hello and thank you for the friend request! It's nice to meet you.

I noticed you've been working at some of the dramas I have an interest in. How is Saikou no Rikon treating you?

Oh, sure! Uhm Tae Woong has the most expressive eyes, so perhaps you'll enjoy his performances. I'm still making my way through his body of work, but I've heard good things about The Equator Man and Resurrection. As to what I've actually seen, it's all been very solid. Queen Seon Duk may be too long to suggest, but Tae Woong totally won my heart there as Kim Yu Shin. He's also the very solid male lead in Knife and Flower.

I'm happy to see you've survived CYHMH! Your feelings on it seem to mirror those I experienced while trudging through Feast of The Gods. It was one of the most difficult watches of my dramatic career, as it was probably the most insanely ridiculous melodrama I've ever seen.

I hope you continue to enjoy Golden Empire! It was on my mind a lot as I completed Hanzawa Naoki, which I can't help but compare to it -- despite major differences between the two.

Ah, I think my reply didn't come through somehow. So sorry for the wait!

Romantic comedies have a time and place for me, but I typically avoid them if I can help it. There are about a handful I've had a great time with, though. As to fluffy dramas, I think the more heartwarming, family oriented ones suit me best.

Oh, thank you for the well wishes! It's very kind.

I kept with Two Weeks only because I never drop dramas. At least Ryu Soo Young helps to keep my attention, haha. In regards to Hanzawa Naoki, both halves are good; the second half is just brilliant.

The upcoming one I'm most excited for is probably Empress Ki. Historicals are nearly always time well spent, and I love the cast.
