Doesn't Matsushita Yuya exclusively play *Sebastian* in the Kuroshitsuji musicals? I believe he's even reprising…
He probably would, honestly. He has such a baby face for his age. :)
I agree with you. The clothing and setting could definitely be done, since everyone seems to make great historicals. Handling things like Nuriko's power or Tamahome's though...eep.

Some very interesting choices here though. Out of the list, Fushigi Yugi might work best as a live adaptation. Any of the major drama producing countries could handle it.
I love Shi On. He is so beautiful Loved how he sang that baby song without fear. Its so good that he is trying…
Oh, I know right? This was a great episode for Shi On in general. It showcased all of his strengths, even allowing for him to trudge out a little success here and there. :)
I haven't watched this yet but if there is romance in this, then I think it will just become ridiculous and unrealistic…
Though I would put it more delicately, the romance worries me as well. Those saying such things vary widely from case to case are correct. However, many success stories include those functioning at higher levels...and probably very few savants. Despite what Doctor Choi says, the script currently portrays Shi On in a way that makes sexual relationships implausible. Forward motion and development would help tremendously, but sometimes it feels like this should be called "Angry Doctor" for all the Do Han focus.
After watching the preview for episode 8 i think Do Han will only become meaner. He will see Doctor Cha and Si…
@lyrical But aren't we shown a more complete perspective than any characters are privy to? For example, to the viewer, it seems obvious the animal communication was working. What about everyone else in the room? They've just witnessed the patient bite two doctors bloody, including Shi On. Every approach sets off a new wave of aggression. Patients and their family members spectate from the hall. Would the best approach be to trust the patient's sudden docility was not a temporary lull? Certainly not. As for the shackles, Do Han clearly mentions they were ordered by the psychiatric department. His behavior during the security debacle was also correct. Had he approached emotionally, breaking protocol as Shi On did, the same thing would have happened. Do Han and Yoon Seo repeatedly warn the guards against manhandling Eun Ok.
He may have a terrible attitude, but he does do his job properly.
Pleasantly surprised by the Iron Chef-related Tamaki Hiroshi cameo in the first episode. It was totally unexpected and fun, since he'd been hosting it at the time this aired.

Ah, that's exciting to hear about Kazoku Game. It's been a long time since I've seen a Sakurai Sho drama, too. I feel really compelled to try the best from each country in 2013, so it'll definitely have to go on the PTW.
I don't think I can ever hate kim do Han. Joo Sang Wook is just oh so sexy
Loving Sang Wook makes up a third of why I can't hate Do Han. The character also strongly reminds me of Doctor Lee from Brain. It seems to me we'll see a change in Do Han soon enough; he's better than the behavior he's exhibited to this point. I'm just hoping they focus a bit more clearly on Shi On; Joo Won's acting is fabulous, but Do Han has been a more visual, compelling character. It may be time for the writers to stop endlessly assaulting Shi On's position at the hospital and let him have forward motion as a doctor and human being.

Ah, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Honestly, I'd have to say its one of the best I've seen this year. Isao really amazed me, especially since Ichihara Hayato used to play teenage roles exclusively for the longest time. The scene where he asked Ryo what he would do if a man held a gun to that little boy was particularly gripping. And yeah, definitely. Their father was such a monster...the police should have paid them for getting rid of him, instead of investigating. XD
It would have been a lot of fun to see Go Soo in Chuno, I think. But the one that really surprises me is That Winter, The Wind Blows. As much as I like In Sung, Won Bin would have just been...wow. And seeing him on the small screen again! It almost makes me sad it didn't happen.

Ah, that sounds like fun! I'm on my first drama obsession cycle in years; it's exciting to come back to so many great ones.
I agree with you completely, especially about the acting. Hopefully they'll stabilize the hospital politics aspect of the plot -- it feels so weak right now.

Ah, I know what you mean. There are actually two reviews I'd like to write at the moment, but I can't seem to find any motivation. My mind is just going "meh, don't wanna" for some reason. And I actually peeked at some of your episode reviews recently. Seems like we were thinking the same things at certain points~
Is this even possible? An autistic person becomes a surgeon responsible for another life???? I dont think this…
It is, actually. Autism has varying levels of severity and can be treated to some degree (though there's no cure like the drama occasionally suggests). Many autistic individuals can and do hold jobs, important and otherwise, with and without treatment.
But remember, Good Doctor banks on the fact that Shi On also has the exceedingly rare savant syndrome. Try looking it up, along with examples (such as Temple Grandin). You'll be amazed.
I just hate Do Han. I don't care about his sad story. Does he think he's the only one who suffer? The fact that…
I'm reserving judgment on Do Han for a while longer. He has a complicated personality and, like I said somewhere further down, a genuinely good heart. It also seems he knows he's doing wrong, but he's handled his scars poorly and let them rule him. His behavior toward Shi On will likely improve in episodes to come, especially with his story revealed; I can't see the writers leaving him cold, angry, and hypocritical forever.
