I am confused about Chae Kyung too, at least we know Director Choi is not her father because she called her 'ahjusshi'.…
Do Han conflicts me. I like him because he's complicated, but his actions often get me angry. It's also clear he has a good heart under all that numbness and anger. I found his reasoning especially fascinating, but I also wanted to shake him and be like "Do Han, be nice now!"
Should the writers be able to give him a believable "redemption," he might turn out to be an excellent character.
I don't intend to be mean, I didn't even read the recap (I'm sure it's good and all) it just was the first one…
As to doesntmatter and their concerns, it made me somewhat sad for this recap to be used as a platform. Not only because it's fun to get feedback on Good Doctor, but because Japanese drama is my "home base."
It would delight me to write recaps for Japanese and Taiwanese, but until their subtitling schedules become more reliable, I don't have the courage.

Sorry for the long wait between answers. The last few days have been relatively hectic. I completely understood your meaning, no worries. You write clearly and with eloquence, so it's always a pleasure to chat with you.
Thank you for your perspective! I've often wondered if there was some crazy technique to better understand film. It's good to hear classes don't drastically alter viewpoint. May I ask what your favorite cinematic signatures are? Whether they're your own or some you've seen in the films of others?
If you do get the chance to watch My Way, feel free to share your thoughts on it :)

I didn't used to watch airing dramas, but I think I have an addiction. It's like television masochism at this point, haha!
Ah, that's interesting. I wonder if the drama and film are related somewhat. Same titled things can get confusing; for instance, there's this Shin Ha Kyun film I want to see called Running Man. Such a pain. :,)
Actually I haven't even heard of Orange Days :o I'll have to give it a look; I'm craving "nice" from my leads at the moment.

Ah, yes! I'm actually recapping Good Doctor (even-numbered episodes) for MDL at the moment. :) It's a sentimental, moving piece...well acted, too. I'm very excited for Top Medical Team once it airs as well; the cast looks phenomenal.
I know that feeling completely though. It's difficult to put your heart out there, especially regarding something you like. I think you did a great job in any case, and if you ever get the feeling to submit another, you definitely should! Thank you for your kind comment on my own though...it really means a lot.
I love crime, omg. Even better if there's revenge. Thanks so much for the rec!
The range of emotions this episode evoked was incredible. I want to wax poetic, but I'm all sobbed out for the week and Shi On was adorable in that headband. :,)

That's true. My tastes make me feel old somehow, but it's fun to see everyone enjoying themselves. Lately I've been completely in love with medical and revenge dramas, and I have no idea why. It may just be the casts associated with them, but who knows. XD
Ah, I just read your review! It's quite good and so the series must be something else to push you to write it. I'll add it to my PTW for now~

Mm, you're exactly right about the cinematography in particular. This film really felt like one worth revisiting, so perhaps once I do I'll have a similar experience. I find what you said is very true; most films are often one or the other, so the greats always feel like they're standing alone in a field. Sometimes it feels like you'll never find another great watch, then suddenly you do and it's like finding oil in your backyard, haha.
I was wondering, how much has schooling and work experience in the industry affected your perspective? For some time, I've considered taking classes or reading up more on film but it hasn't happened...
As to recommendations, typically I only push films. Something I saw recently that stuck with me was "My Way." It's another WWII film, but it has a unique perspective, impressive leads, and lots of heart.

Oh, that sounds like fun! I've actually never been to the beach before. Though, that's probably a good thing; I burn like a vampire being exposed to sunlight, haha.
I have to agree on that. There are a lot of romance tropes I really dislike, and they do tend to come from the flower boy type drama. Part of the reason many of my favorite actors are older is because the scripts they're offered usually tend to fit the maturity bill. :,)
Ah, that's interesting. I've been considering Tonbi and Mother for future watches~

Now whenever I watch taiga dramas, I'll be thinking of pine trees. X,D Thank you for the laugh. It's sort of fun that both countries have their massive historicals though.

Oh, it's fine to ask. Usually when I pass out tens, the work has left me with some lingering emotion. If it was technically solid, stuck to me, and moved me, that's usually the main criteria. With the case of In The Mood For Love, it's more of a 9.5, because while the final scenes touched me, I didn't quite get that big "oomph," if that makes sense.

Thank you so much for the friend request. All the gifs in your profile are adorable; the chocolate abs with Gong Yoo actually made me giggle all over again. :,)
Just wondering if that guy, the chairman, is autist? good recap.
Ah, sorry for the slow reply. I believe that, so far, Shi On is the only character that displays signs of autism.

Ah, did you go on vacation? It's the perfect time for a last minute summer trip~
I've always wondered why romance seems to have such a big impact on whether a drama is watchable. Many of my favorites have little to none, but I always notice people asking about whether there's a love line. That's an interesting thought -- but I have to admit, sometimes a good romance boosts an mediocre story, so...
There seems to be room for Do Han and Shi On to get close. I agree it would be fun and probably very emotional, too.
