I loved these most recent episodes (21&22) so much!!!
I never thought I'd see DFQC allowing himself to get close to Chengheng unless he's wielding his giant scary sword, and here he is getting manhandled and swearing an oath of Brotherhood.
Watching the more human side of DFQC slowly grow its root and sprout in these hysterical attempts to get mortal Chengheng to do what he wants (they played football! they drank together! they skipped class!) has been a delight to watch. It also feels like I'm watching a social science experiment as he's more or less wearing a human mask until it becomes more organic, and it is! It is starting to take a more natural shape. Even his body language is increasingly more human. I love this and its implications for DFQC when he returns to the Immortal realm and faces Changheng again. Will he be as antagonistic and angry toward him? Will he remember these moments with mortal Changheng fondly and not want to hurt him? Will they ally? Questions...questions.

She was lucid at that time. Same thing with something like Alzheimers. Patients can have long moments of lucidity, remember who they are and their family momentarily

Yeah. Im not sure where people got the impression it was a ploy. I never read anything alluding to it in the novel. Perhaps it threw them off when she had her lucid moments, but yeah, starving and wandering homeless for over a year and losing her whole family along with the betrayal really did her in.
Apparently CSS will get sick and almost die after LBY's revenge. Will he know about this or will he never know?
A bit of both. Much of what she is saying is coming from a place of deep hurt. It takes her a long time to even remotely heal or stop agonizing over him all day/night. She obviously doesnt lose her love for him even 5 years later, but there is a lot of damage to work through. There is a gorgeously written, devastating scene in the novel when LBY literally begs and cries for her forgiveness while clasping onto her waist and i cant wait to see it play out. Even then, its not enough to convince her all the way. It takes real work from him.
Does anyone know 1-whether Huo Jun Hua is actually mentally ill or pretending all the while? N constantly feeding…

Next time someone tries to say crap about Dylan Wangs acting, imma show him Ep 17 and 18. wow wow wow that crying scene and the scene with his father were π€π€π€π€π€π€π€π€π€π€π€. He looks so beautiful when he cries. The BTS was also impressive.
That scream in Ep 47 trailer. Gives me chills. Our normally stoic, emotionally controlled LBY letting a sound like that escape from his body. I've re-watched it an UNGODLY amount of times. So eager to watch it play out and learn the context behind it.
i am looking forward to see these scenes actuallyto have a good cry, and overwhelmed emotionally πππ
I honestly can't wrap my head around anyone wanting to skip the angst. I guess I'm a freak, lmao, I'm SO EXCITED to see it (especially knowing the good times are around the corner too).
Really scared of the five-year separation that everyone keeps saying is coming from the people who read the books…
I really really hope they keep the scene in when LBY begs and cries. I have NEEDS. lol. I want to see that so badly. From the stoic, hardened general, to a man on his knees literally crying and begging for forgiveness. T_T
I just HIGHLY suggest that you rewatch on Viki if you watch it off MyAsianTV or KissKH. I watch the episodes on KissKH because its uploaded a lot faster than Viki, but the translations are not nearly as good as Viki. Viki provides much better translations/subtexts and even provides context when its needed. I always watch them again on Viki later and its miles better.
Exactly, he propose at the time when he thought he has enough evidence and could punish these ppl thru lawful…
Yessss. This. This. This. His hopes and dreams in being with CSS are *authentic*. She is the only shining light in his life. He's not going to leave her because he planned to or wants to. It's unfortunately how it falls into place with how everything unravels, but it kills him just as much as it kills her. If not, more so.
