Not if his company has anything to say about it. And there are reasons why he personally can't/won't reject it.
He supposedly already signed some type of "promise to star" agreement with Linmon even if it's not fully official yet. His reputation within the biz will be spread as being flakey if he renege and might affect his chance of being cast by other big PH.
Despite Yi Jun's "skills", if Overdo continues to maintain its heat and rake in the ads money, it'll still be considered as a hit for him so they will keep giving him work 🤷🏻♀️
So while I agree with you, I think Citang will happen 🥲 unless Linmon themselves decide to scrap it due to the FL casting mess. Also with less and less dramas getting the green light to film these days, he can't afford to be picky, especially if he doesn't have the same kind of favoritism coming his way like other actors who get all the good package due to having backers. We just have to hope he'll continue to carry his dramas.

I'm still on the fence on this director but I'm satisfied with most of what he's shown here. I think he just needs to team up with a really good editor or something.
And if I hadn't watched the episodes to judge for myself and just went by all these comments, I'd expect something godawful coming into it when that's not the case at all imo.
Finished all 5 eps and I feel it gets better the further you go. Ep 1 was squeezing in all the introductions so it felt a bit chaotic, but the fast pacing gets to a more comfortable speed as you get used to all the characters and what's going on. From tomorrow's previews, it seems like we're going to learn about both leads' histories from when they were young to the present by it slowly revealing along with current events as the drama progresses. Like a mystery unraveling. Looking forward to it.
P.S. I really like how they did their "online dating pre-internet age" segment. Instead of alternating shots of them reading each other's letter replies, it morphed into a shot of them chatting in that imagined room, with the long table representing their distance in reality.
Guys It's so good. Visual, musical score, plot, scene change, all are melo dramatic plus I love the close up micro…
For real, it's like the other 38 minutes of actual real film footage don't exist to them or something. This drama has always marketed itself as "short drama in long drama form" so no surprise there lol.
I'm happy with the director's style so far since I was nervous about him beforehand. Also, I'm glad they didn't use that dreamy filter like all the promo clips and trailers had. You can actually see everyone's skin textures despite the high exposure color grading.
