Maybe the subject matter or genre is just not some people's cup of tea. You kind of have to understand the genre or be in the mood for this kind of fantasy to get the drama for its value. ZLH fans are rejoicing because it's been a while since we've had such an easy time watching his drama.

Also, thank god we don't have to deal with emo JY2.0 struggling between being good and evil. I like this unapologetic Yin. It's like his erased memories unlocked this devil-may-care attitude that may have always been present in Shao Cang, but was suppressed due to his sect's influence and cultivation achievement. You could actually see some signs of it if you go back and rewatch Ji Yang scenes prior to memory loss. It also doesn't seem unbelievable to me that he can still show a softer side towards NY as Yin because, essentially, he is Shao Cang's soul who fell in love with her and recognized her by instinct.
