I noticed they didn't even feature XW as one of ZLH's characters in his montage when he was up to receive his award. They repeated MJTY twice and yet his famous quote was from XW 🤨

What's funny is the author said XL was her favorite out of the bunch... what a sadist lol. I didn't watch far enough to understand why the character of TSJ has garnered so many fans, but from up to where I stopped watching, I couldn't get his character at all and dropped it when I realized he was the end game.

Go Ahead is a good watch for SWL dramas. That and Find Yourself are the only two I liked from him. His styling during Go Ahead and ZLH’s styling for the Grand Princess booting ceremony make them look nearly identical from distant angles. Them playing siblings would be something I’d pay to watch lol.

He's also starting 2024 off with a bang as the number one male star with the most new Weibo followers count during the first week of January, and he doesn't even have any currently airing drama. This week will probably be the same standing as its been increasing by 13k-20k per day.

When I first saw him during his debut days I've always thought he and SWL reminded me of each other. ZLH is like the warm approachable vibe and SWL is the cold distant vibe lol.

Doesn't this start just make you feel like it'll be a good year for modern romance cdramas? I feel like last year was kind of a bust. Starting with these two and then there are so many good ones on roster coming up within the next couple of months.

Yes and I was prepared for the whole translation thing to be more nationalistic “China is best” propaganda cringe, but it’s well done so far with the inclusion of the intricacies of classical texts and such. I really like the way the leads’ reunion is unfolding. I’m glad the past is given in snippets and not a back to the past time jump where we have watch them fall in love for ten eps before we’re back in the present. Those kinds of storytelling wear on my patience lol. Crossing my fingers it doesn’t drag later and stays interesting.

If I remember correctly I think YSX was showing Dylan Wang how he should move his lips by using her fingers as lips to demonstrate in one of the LBFAD bts 😂 She and ZBB had a hot kiss scene in ROTLF that YOUKU had to go and delete 😒 It seems when the actresses can kiss, it ends up getting cut. I was really surprised they didn’t touch SOKP’s aggressive kisses.

I don’t remember how she kissed, I just remember I loved the second couple more lol.

Oh my that has to be one of the worst I’ve seen. ML was doing all the work and she was literally frozen. There’s a difference in being an innocent kisser versus a dead fish. It was like she didn’t even like it. I’m actually reading the novel now and somehow I’ve ended up having ZLH and Tian Xiwei’s images from iqiyi’s Scream Night as the leads 😂

Ah I see… I’m going to need for a dozen more episodes to pile up before I can continue watching in fear for my blood pressure lol.

I think it really depends on what you're in the mood for. I'm watching both and prefer this more since I like a more mature type of storytelling. My Boss is on the sillier side. However, Chen Xingxu is great in both, so I'd say both are worth watching for him. The color grading of this is also more comfortable to my eyes.
