I feel qin is the reason he is staying sane! Musical instruments can quite the mind and as we know he is suffering…
You're not wrong. This was posted by ZLH on his weibo yesterday.
"Today is the beginning of winter, which means winter is coming. Winter is Xie Wei's least favorite season. Everyone can see from the fragmented flashbacks that Xie Wei's childhood was unfortunate and miserable. He was born into a wealthy family. His childhood should have been bathed in the sun, but the tragic deaths of lives in the ice and snow became the beginning of his childhood haze. His close peers became silent, his biological father became selfish and ruthless, and his biological mother died of depression... From then on, in his eyes, the heavy snow every winter was blood red, and every cat became the switch that triggered the haze of his childhood. His character began to become paranoid and cruel, and his psychosis continued to torture him for the rest of his life like post-traumatic stress disorder. Why Xie Wei is so addicted to the qin is not only because he is extremely demanding on himself, and learning the qin is the most difficult thing for him, but in fact, in his cold physical and mental trauma and life experience, only the warm and delicate music of the qin accompanies him. After passing through the biting winters year after year, qin became his only hope and warm light in a world full of holes."
We can deduce now that the substitute prince was him.
Will there be promotions ? I want to see all the cast promoting together 🥲
Since it’s a surprise drop, it might be hard for the cast to synchronize their schedules so last minute. Especially since both BL and ZLH are filming their own dramas right now and BL still has to promote OFL as well. I hope they’ll have a chance to film Hello Saturday though!
Not gonna happen. When he was getting ready to confess(he wanted to make an event of it), the truth came out.
That party, tree climbing, and the guy are additions from the drama. None of those things happened in the novel. I think they want to add more drama during the ”cold war” stage. He’s still being sweet to her even when he’s mad. She got really sick and ended up in the hospital, but no one was with her to help take care of her. He found out and came and did all sort of sweet things for her, then they made up afterwards and that’s when a sincere courtship begins. Before that, she had tried to apologize but he blocked her WeChat. She got so pissed that she just deleted him. It’s funny after they make up and he finds out she did that. Once they’re together there are no problems. Just a lot of them being sweet and couple-y
So the subs call his condition “dementia“ but does anyone know the proper translation?
The closer Western equivalent would be Schizophrenia. The description of "soul separation" share similar symptoms as well and Baidu encyclopedia used that comparison.
MangoTV received a lot of complaints so they toned down their filter. I think they also had iqiyi adjust their…
Yeah, I did a side by side comparison and the Mango version is a lot better on the eyes now. IQIYI should’ve been allowed to use their own color grading since it’s being shown on their own platform.

He had asked her to meet him on a new year's date and planned to confess after, but then he found out, got mad and stood her up. She waited around for hours but he never showed (even though he did come hours earlier, but sat in his car just watching her without her seeing). She already had a feeling something was going down. When she finally called to ask why he wasn't coming, his reply was "So I can act with you?" And that was that. The whole build up to it made that line feel like a stab, but I'm not sure how they'll go about it in the drama.

It was implied a few times during the first few episodes that this was her motive. The interview was an andditional incentive. It was brought up again during her conversation with Shi Yue when they were at the concert. They’ve been following the same plot trajectory of the leads as in the novel so far, so I think this will still be the catalyst. It’s kind of an important plot development so I don’t see them doing away with it. The ex is appearing the same amount as he did in the novel. She definitely doesn’t have any lingering feelings for him. It was more out of principles and anger that she decided to do it in the beginning. The lines are blurred for her now and she doesn’t realize that she’s starting to like Shi Yan for real. Even while reading the novel you can see that Shuyi was starting to have real feelings for him, but he doesn’t have access to her inner monologues like the readers do. So I don’t blame him for over thinking things when that part of the plot comes up. He’s an easily jealous and petty guy, but I don’t see the blind dates being that big of an issue for him to be so mad at her. They’re not technically official at the moment. There was a memorable line that he says to her after the truth came out that I’d be disappointed if they cut it out.

That she’s pursuing him out of revenge on her ex. So he starts questioning if she was faking it this whole time and basically felt like their whole relationship was a lie.
