Yeah, I mean most of us watching accept that this is flawed, as the source material is almost like a wattpad fanfiction. We’re just turning our brains off and here for the entertainment because after all that’s said, it’s still a fun, lighthearted drama to follow to just destressed and swoon over all the good looking actors.
At first she is doing it for revenge against her ex boyfriend, because she thinks the girl her ex boyfriend is…
It was in episode 2 after she had the run in with the ex and new gf at the cafe. She said I’ll make sure you won’t even be able to enter the door. Which means if she successfully seduce the “uncle” and become his new wife, it’ll be a slap to both their faces to have to address her as auntie. Not the sanest logic, but she’s a woman scorned 😂
People who read the novel, are there any break up’s?? And what is the reason for break up? Feel free to spoil…
Not really a break up since they weren't officially together yet, but after she started having real deep feelings for him, he found out the reason why she tried to pursue him in the beginning and got really mad at her. That was the height of the angst. Then they made up and officially got together and no break ups whatsoever afterwards. Just a lot of sugar.

The drama cut the "making love" text line. I didn't see it on her phone. They only had her write "making cake" as a reply. Maybe it's too risque for their TV rating lol. This makes me feel less excited about all the kissing teasers they've been throwing out recently. Who knows how much will actually make it on to the actual episodes. I'm basing this on past drama experiences (i.e. Romance of the Little Forest and Unchained Love...)
can anyone explain me the final cake scene of episode 10?
I posted this above, but here's a better explanation from the novel. The drama probably couldn't depict the same context due to censorship. The scriptwriter should've chosen a different way to make that scene funnier ,but I guess they just assumed most watchers will be novel readers anyway.
- As for "making cake". When her ex kept pestering her asking what she was doing, she decided to be cheeky and replied with "Making love." Then she started to imagine the stupid look on her ex's face if he thought that was what she was really doing and started giggling. Just then it caught Shi Yan's attention and he happened to look over and saw. So she got embarrassed and sent a follow up text of "cake". So the full text would look something like "Making a love cake" As she's feeling mortified inside, Shi Yan just sat there and said nothing about it. Then suddenly a piece of cake arrived for her by his order lol.
For anyone confused about "the red one" and "making cake" scenes. Here are some context from the novel so you…
- In the novel, when Shuyi was thinking back to figure out what "red one" Shi Yan means, she thought about the red riding outfit she wore when they rode horses the first time. She started giggling thinking that it left an impression on him. They emphasized that outfit more in the novel than they did in the drama.

Today's 2 eps made me realized how cursed this damn bright white filter is. When Didi is in the shadows or darker lighting he looks so much better. Same for the ladies. Fortunately, they're all beautiful even with that offensive filter. Besides that, it was so entertaining to watch their antics today. Everything is playing out exactly like the novel, with some additions of the 3rd couple. I love how Didi was carrying around BL like she weighed nothing. By the way, those outfits gave me very much rich grandma vibes 😂
Maybe it's just me, but I for one love a slow burning romance. The "chasing/ambiguous period" is the best part because you get all these anticipating feelings of will they or won't they. The longer it burns, the more rewarding it'll be once they get together. We're only at episode 8 of 36 eps. It's going to be a while until they do if we continue on the same trajectory as the novel. Also, I don't know why but I tend to get bored once a couple is together if there's too many episodes left. Especially when there's no compelling conflicts outside their romance.
So funny. A lot of viewers are saying, not just in Twitter but Weibo too, that they have to watch the episodes…
Honestly, same thing was happening to me a few times. I didn’t even realized my eyes kept drifting upwards to his face/outfits until the scene changed and noticed I completely missed what was just said and had to rewind 🤦🏻♀️
That's what that was? 🤣🤣🤣 MGTV previews are weird. IQiY needs to do them. SY better not blow the midnight…
Same here. I was like seriously?? Are you people my elderly parents who keep their phone volume raised at 100% 😂 I like that they softened him up sooner and made him more human in the drama. He was super stone faced and cold to her for almost half the novel so the secondhand embarrassment was real when she kept hitting on him and he had no reaction.

Forgot to add earlier... yeah he was being super petty just because he got jealous a little lol. Haha imagine walking down the streets and seeing this girl just kicking and cursing at a poor tree 😂
One of the weird moments, i thought, was Shu Yi saying she dont know the face of the CEO. Yet after that, in her…
She said she's never been able to find a clear picture of him to know what he really looks like. His face was always half hidden or blurry. On her PC was only that picture of SY almost fully covered by the car window wasn't it? I don't think there were any others.
