Ep 9-10 highlights:
- Aw when they smiled at each other across the room. And him getting slightly flustered when she asked to connect on wechat. So cute.

- Poor Lin Qi, getting jerked around by that awful company.

- My mom knew someone whose daughter went through the same thing as that father and son did. She threatened to set herself on fire during a heated argument with her toxic husband and didn't expect that he would actually throw her the lighter. In a moment of insanity, she went through with it and torched herself. She cried in pain to her mom afterwards as she was lying on her deathbed in the hospital about how much she regretted it. You think they dramatize situations for drama's sake, but these things actually occur in real life.

I hope Zeng Keni's character turns out to be cool and not catty. That one other annoying trainee is enough.

I am, I like his role in it. He already made me cry once haha. He doesn't appear in every single episode, but when he does, he's pretty prominent. Below is the list of episodes he's supposed to have scenes in.

There's something about this drama, like it's slow but somehow I'm still compelled to keep watching. I haven't watched any of the previous firefighter dramas so I can't compare. I feel like it's definitely a slow burn romance where once they finally get together sparks will be flying. The camaraderie between the firefighters is nice, a lot of human study of life as a firefighter. I also love the big bro/lil bro relationship between Luxiao and Qi. Things do get more entertaining with the addition of the trainees and reality show filming by episode 6. On a side note, I love the realism of their looks. No smoothing skin filters.

I don't think it's iqiyi, but more like this specific production crew. Every drama of theirs have different production crew working on marketing and promotions, etc. Somebody must hate him in MJTY because they treat him like an unwanted stepchild. He has a "building sweeping" livestream with Sina today and there's no announcement at all coming from the official blog, but when the supporting cast went, they got that controversial poster announcing their live hours beforehand.
In comparison, he only has a guest role in Bright Eyes(also on iqiyi) and they're already showing more love to him than MJTY did, with character posters and numerous hot search tags for his upcoming scenes. All that is to say I still prefer iqiyi's quality of production, but I hope youku does this drama justice as well.

I watched the preview teasers for the first 6 eps and it looks really good. Quality production with good acting and story.

Have you watched Nirvana in Fire S2? You don't need to watch S1 to understand S2. It has a great story about family, a young ML becoming great, a nice romance and a good ending.

Yeah it should follow the typical schedule of 6 eps on the first day, then 2 eps per day for the next nine days and then the few days break in between for the following weeks. I hope the rest of the drama is actually good so it wouldn’t be a torture waiting just for his scenes.
