Yes, I did spoil myself to the novel's ending by reading the last chapter. A lot of the plot lines have been reworked in the drama so it's not completely the same. But the ending for our couple is that YL faked her death and left the palace. Sometimes later, XD convinced Fu Wang to let him go off on a battle mission at sea with intentions of never coming back. He reunited with YL on the ship and they both left the imperial city together. In the bonus Epilogue, we see they have settled down in a new land, opened a shop and lived a happily married life. YL also ended up having twins 😊

We have 4 more eps left so lots more excitement to come 🙂

That one sequence of WHD filmed in one continuous shot was impressive. His face was still visible. Most fight scenes I've seen in other dramas, faces are usually never clearly shown because most of the time it was the stunt double fighting. I want him to pick a serious action drama next, modern or historical, as long as there's lots of fighting in it lol.

The way they had him hunching and peeking like a pervert was so pathetically comical. At least he gets a live show to all the cuts we can't see 😁

If you pay attention to the different illustrations in the opening, there is one showing an imperial guarding standing next to a woman on the veranda by a pond. The woman actually looks very much like YL's dance teacher. So could that be her and the imperial guard is Yu Zun, whom is the lover that she thought was dead in battle? After episode 31, we can see that Yu Zun now has come to respect XD for what he did to save the country. Yu Zun might be the one who helps XD escape from prison. And the two people in the preview teaser wearing the mask disguises when Fu Wang tried to take them off are actually Yu Zun and the teacher, who finally reunited, and has come to play the red herrings in an escape plan for XD and YL. Meanwhile, in another place, we see XD and YL holding hands and running in the opposite direction of the Futu Tower.
