First, in the latest tidbit released, Yinlou said she liked him just because he's him, thinking Tongyun was behind her. Xiao Duo is moved, kisses her 😘. Then Cao Chunang was looking for Xiao Duo but couldn't find him in his room. He then probably entered Yinlou's room to look and when Xiao Duo saw someone coming, he probably jumped into the tub to cover Yinlou from view since she's naked. Cao Chunang saw that she was taking a bath, so he left quickly. You can see now Xiao Duo has water droplets on his chin from the following scenes. This is probably when the conversation about him not being a real eunuch gets addressed and Xiao Duo tells Yinlou he wants to marry her. Before that happens, he won't do anything to offend her and said: Don't worry, I won't violate you. Yinlou said: But I want to violate you. Kiss again 😘.

This is how one cnetz figured the sequence of the scene went based on all the different tidbits released: First, in this latest one, YL said that regardless of whether Xiao Duo is a eunuch or not, she likes him. Xiao Duo is moved, kiss 😘. Then Eunuch Cao pushed the door open, and we heard the sound of breathing and water (the part in the drama when he was looking for XD in his room, but the camera then pans to YL's closed door). When Xiao Duo saw someone coming, he got into YL's tub to hide in desperation (I actually think he jumped in to cover her from Eunuch Cao, because his back was to the door). Eunuch Cao saw that she was taking a bath, so he left quickly. The following scene from the tidbit is connected, Xiao Duo got out of the water, with drops of water on his face(you can see water droplets on his chin), and said: Don't worry, I won't violate you. YL said: But I want to violate you. Kiss again 😘. Then this probably led to the flashback scene in the drama about how she thought he was a eunuch and he said his brother was, he didn't say he was.

This was a major plot point that needed to be properly addressed, not cut down to an afterthought.

Also, the bts released weeks ago when WHD and YQ were rehearsing a kiss scene, where she was wearing a pink animal hoodie and he was in a black jersey, looked like it was from the scene when she was sitting in his lap on the porch of their riverside home. The backdrop and the positioning of their bodies looked the same.

That is what is always hardest for me to find to satisfy my taste. I love romance Cdramas of all genres, but have low tolerance for low quality production and cringe acting. Most dramas releasing lately are either, well made overall, but hardly any romance or with bad stereotypes of FLs and overloaded with artificial sugar. So something like Forbidden Love is the perfect balance for me.

If you go into this drama from a critical POV, then she makes some valid points. But if you are in the mood for a light, escapist romance, where love trumps all, kind of world, then I think this drama has delivered so far (minus the disappointing cuts made). What makes it stand out is that it has nice cinematography/direction and isn't cheaply made, compared to the general amount of historical-romance dramas released daily. Plus, the actors are good at their roles and delivers what they're asked from the script.

I've been obsessed with this ever since I saw it yesterday.

LOL I think this was their compromise versus what happened in the novel during their first time.

I couldn't get through MG because everything about it was so cringe, so never got to see how his acting was during the dramatic moments.

One more thing a cnetz noticed. If you look at XD’s clothes during the arguing scene and after when they’re sitting at the bow of the boat, it was sloppily put back together and also the bare feet. Add that to your imagination fuel 😜

I felt like the scene when YL was picking cherries from the ground to eat the bitterness away was even more heartbreaking than what she did to XD. On top of that she couldn't even cry out loud and had to muffle the sound.

Am I the only one that notices the micro twitching that WHD does with his face muscles during both angry and sad scenes? I’m mesmerized by it lol. I love the contrast of his angry 😡 when he confronted the Empress versus his sad 🥺 when YL was staking his heart with her words.

People who overanalyzed the ending shot said they saw the boat shaking 😂 . It looked like she bit his lip because there's a cut on it, but I'm sure that will be completely cut out. We'll need to activate our imagination 100% come Sunday.

It’s 9.15 as of 01/09. I imagine it’ll rise again after 23-24 since Cnetz love seeing the MLs get “abused” and the actors get to show off their emotional acting skills.

This character and his character from Nothing Gold Can Stay are night and day. He was such a kind soul and all around good guy in that. His character left such an impression that I think he still managed to overshadowed Chen Xiao even after his turn was up.
