Halfway through. It’s been intriguing watching how the characters stories unfold. Lots of secrets yet to be unearthed. However a down-point has to be Chong Zhao refusing to accept rejection and giving Bai Shou space. I feel there’s been an excessive amount of screen time spent on this, which may serve a purpose later (?) but I’m exhausted 🙄. I wish more focus was placed on fleshing out the chemistry between Bai Shou and Fan Yue.

Easy lighthearted watch! Loving the chemistry and laughs! Definitely a breeze to watch through ☺️

Ughhh there was so many times I wish the plot progressed in a different direction. As much as I love this drama and it’s characters 🥺 I wish their story played out differently and had more time together as themselves. Definitely going to check out more from Chen Zhe Yuan! Love his acting! Even in the silly costumes ☺️💕💕

After watching up to the lastest ep (30th) and reading the novel, I have a theory where the story may lead. Since heavenly emperor absorbed the power from Cang Hai’s twin and is targeting her next, I think the reason he wanted Chu Kong to restore his primordial spirit is to essentially steal his power too. I doubt he didn’t recognise Cang Hai as the cloud spirit so why would he convince his brother he needed to fix his primordial spirit to fight her? Furthermore Cang Hai (Xian Yun) was damaging her primordial spirit and repairing chu kongs during the first couple of tribulations. Passing her power over to him. It sounds as though if the plan were successful heavenly emperor would ‘absorb’ the power of both immortals. His evil plan parallels with Jin Lian from the novel a.k.a devouring immortals to boost his power. The heavenly emperor has displayed a lot of jealousy for Chu Kongs power in this lifetime so I do not doubt he would take it that far. Then again I’m just making a speculation. Open to other interpretations!

Love love love this drama. Definitely going to revisit it again someday. I just wish it was given a little more time to sort out its editing. Especially in its final episode.
