Interesting. I've heard of ZZH and his ban, and I'm intrigued by how difficult it is to find much about "Castle in the Time" online despite it being apparently filmed ages ago.
By translating my way around the (Japanese) site, I found LaLa TV's page for the show - https://www.lala.tv/programs/castle_in_the_time/ - and yeah, it seems like this should be coming. I'm not sure if it will be watchable outside of Japan initially, but I don't doubt that people will find ways to spread it internationally eventually, even if they aren't completely legal.
Good for him though if he can get out of the blacklist! From what I've heard, the Chinese hammer of blacklisting can come down really hard and fast for the smallest of reasons, and I feel like a release of an old work in another country is a step.
This premiere is highly divisive, although I enjoyed it. I'm savouring my current enjoyment and keeping my expectations down because I absolutely think there's a solid possibility for everything to go downhill from here.
If you dislike the exaggerated asides to audience that Japanese dramas tend to love, this might not be for you. If you dislike a character who cannot function around his crush, this might not be for you.
It was silly and cringe but I got through Secret Crush on You and that was peak cringe! I saw the genres were Comedy and Romance and mentally prepared myself for it beforehand, so if you're disliking the super cheesiness, I'll encourage you to drop it and not torture yourself because I think there's going to be a lot of this!
I went into this expecting minimum polish and maximum confusion considering the other things I've seen from Mandee/Domundi, and I can't help but love the characters so far. I can even like King and Uea when I selectively forget Bed Friend and the issues I had with that!!!
I'm taking this as a light and silly watch, because I don't have enough brainpower after life to overthink this - I don't generally notice acting and production quality since some of my favourites are low-budget - this wasn't one of the shows where anything jumped out at me, but I'll see how I feel about it later.
This was too sweet - I genuinely don't know how I can be patient for next Friday!!! Also, Le Petit Prince is so iconic and I adore the use of it and the meaning here! 🥰😊
Aha - thanks! I found out it was a song by the group the actresses are in but I guess it makes sense to reuse that if they don't want to record a whole new one.
