The problem is actually with the unhinged fans, who are so delusional and think they have a chance with these actors if they were single, OR they only ship their idols with specific people. I think these actors would be more open about their relationships if the fans had even slightly well-adjusted reactions to that type of news lol.

It’s been decent background noise for now, but unfortunately I’m not feeling the chemistry between the FL with either male lead. I’m not sure if I’ll continue even though it’s a fun light watch.

She’s extremely biased, don’t mind her. She hates a lot of young successful actors, especially if they are really pretty lol, and she’s so inconsistent with her critiques. If she didn’t feel chemistry in LLTG, I don’t know what she was smoking.

Maybe this person isn't used to Chinese historical dramas. LLTG actually had a lot of onscreen affection for dramas of this genre lol - it doesn't need to have full-on make-outs to count as affection or intimacy.

Agree! The recent wuxias have been so bad, and they’ve especially butchered some JY adaptations lately. But this cast looks good (and not made of newcomers) so I’m hopeful.

I was also talking about the screenwriter. If you go to his profile and scroll down, you’ll see he did the 2003 version of DGSD. And yes, I’m also a huge fan of Jin Yong so will probably watch any adaptation unless they are dreadful (like the 2021 DGSD lol).

Is he not good? I saw he did the 2003 Demi Gods & Semi Devils which is my favorite adaptation. He's also doing Three Body which is supposed to be a highly anticipated upcoming drama.

It’s “qing gong” which is very common in wuxia dramas, but ya kind of out of place in this drama which is otherwise very rooted in reality and normal physics haha.

I think LLTG is much better tbh, despite the douban rating being lower. A lot of people went very easy on ADOS because it was LYF’s (China’s fairy sister) return to dramas after 16 years.

The pacing for ADOS was all over the place and the chemistry between the leads was good, and the romance progresses very quickly, which is fine, but the second half ended up being extremely draggy because of that. I had to fast forward 90% of the last 20 episodes just to get through it. The “villain” at the end was also super wack.

People liked ADOS for its female empowerment themes but honestly it wasn’t that well done especially with the focus on purity and virginity. To me, LLTG was so much more thoughtfully done, and the character development for our leads and supporting characters were all superb. There’s just one comparison imo.

Ya I think cdrama fans can be too toxic/rabid. It’s fine to fawn over the chemistry and romance within a drama, but sometimes they take it too far and want the actors to be a couple in real life and get so possessive over their relationship. I feel like ZLS and WL would have interacted more at the Bvlgari event if they didn’t have such crazy fans who would read into everything they do.

Agree - he wasn't toxic at all, just overprotective. There's a difference. Also, there were several instances when he made the decision to just let CSS live her life happily with another suitor (LY and YS) and even protected those suitors and their families.
